1 T he Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?

Господь – мой свет и мое спасение, кого мне бояться? Господь – крепость жизни моей, кого мне страшиться?

2 W hen evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.

Когда злодеи пойдут на меня, чтобы плоть мою пожирать, когда мои враги и противники против меня ополчатся – споткнутся они и падут.

3 T hough a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident.

Пусть войско меня окружит – сердце мое не дрогнет; пусть вспыхнет против меня война – и тогда я буду спокоен.

4 O ne thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.

Одного я прошу у Господа, только этого я ищу: чтобы жить мне в доме Господнем во все дни моей жизни, созерцать красоту Господню и размышлять в Его храме.

5 F or in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.

В день беды Он даст мне приют в Своем жилище, скроет меня под пологом Своего шатра, вознесет меня на скалу.

6 A nd now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

Тогда вознесется моя глава над противниками, окружающими меня, и принесу у Его шатра жертвы, крича от радости. Буду петь и играть для Господа.

7 H ear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice, And be gracious to me and answer me.

Услышь, Господи, когда я зову, помилуй меня и ответь.

8 W hen You said, “ Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord, I shall seek.”

Ты говоришь моему сердцу: «Ищи Моего лица!» Господи, я буду искать лица Твоего.

9 D o not hide Your face from me, Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation!

Не скрывай от меня Свое лицо. Не отвергни в гневе Своего слугу, Ты, Кто был мне помощником. Не отвергни меня, не оставь, Бог, мой Спаситель.

10 F or my father and my mother have forsaken me, But the Lord will take me up.

Если даже отец мой и мать оставят меня, то Господь меня примет.

11 T each me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a level path Because of my foes.

Господи, научи меня Твоему пути, веди меня по прямой стезе из-за врагов моих.

12 D o not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence.

Не отдавай меня в руки моих противников, потому что восстали на меня лжесвидетели и злобою дышат.

13 I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

Но верю: увижу я благость Господню на земле живых.

14 W ait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.

Надейся на Господа, мужайся и сердце свое укрепи, надейся на Господа!
