1 Я человек, испытавший горе от жезла гнева Господа.

I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

2 О н погнал меня и ввел во тьму, а не в свет.

He hath led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.

3 Н есомненно, Он обратил Свою руку против меня, и обращает ее снова и снова, в течение всего дня.

Surely against me he turneth his hand again and again all the day.

4 О н состарил кожу мою и плоть мою, сокрушил кости мои.

My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

5 О н осадил меня и окружил горечью и тяготою.

He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

6 П огрузил меня во мрак, как давно умерших.

He hath made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.

7 О кружил меня стеной, чтобы я не мог выйти, заковал меня в тяжелые цепи.

He hath walled me about, that I cannot go forth; he hath made my chain heavy.

8 Д аже, когда я взываю и прошу о помощиComment Reference Он не обращает внимания на мою молитву.

Yea, when I cry, and call for help, he shutteth out my prayer.

9 К амнями Он преградил мне путь, искривил стези мои.

He hath walled up my ways with hewn stone; he hath made my paths crooked.

10 О н подобен медведю в засаде или затаившемуся льву.

He is unto me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.

11 С бил меня с пути и растерзал меня, оставив без помощи.

He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.

12 Н атянул Он Свой лук и сделал меня мишенью для стрел Своих.

He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

13 О н пронзил мое сердце стрелами из Своего колчана.

He hath caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.

14 С тал я посмешищем для всего моего народа, весь день в песнях насмехаются надо мной.

I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.

15 О н напоил меня горькими травами и насытил горечью.

He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath sated me with wormwood.

16 К амнями сокрушил зубы мои, втоптал меня в пыль.

He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he hath covered me with ashes.

17 Л ишена душа моя мираComment Reference я позабыл о благоденствии.

And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace; I forgat prosperity.

18 И сказал я: «Исчезло величие мое и надежда моя на Господа».

And I said, My strength is perished, and mine expectation from Jehovah.

19 П омню лишь о страдании и скитании, во мне лишь горечь и желчь.

Remember mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

20 С ильна память об этом, поникла душа моя.

My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is bowed down within me.

21 Н о вот, что говорю я себе, вот, что дает мне надежду:

This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope.

22 « Милость Господа никогда не иссякает, сострадание Его не истощается.

It is of Jehovah's lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 О ни обновляются каждое утро; велика верность Твоя!»

They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.

24 Я сказал себе: «Господь – часть моя, потому я буду надеяться на Него».

Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25 Б лаг Господь к тем, кто уповает на Него, к тем, кто ищет Его.

Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

26 Б лаго тому, кто молча ожидает спасения от Господа.

It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

27 Б лаго человеку, который несет ярмо в юности своей.

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

28 П усть сидит в уединении и молчании, потому что бремя это возложил на него Господь.

Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he hath laid it upon him.

29 П усть опускает уста свои в прах, может быть, есть еще надежда.

Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.

30 П усть подставляет щеку свою бьющему и насыщается бесчестием.

Let him give his cheek to him that smiteth him; let him be filled full with reproach.

31 В едь Владыка не отвергает людей навеки!

For the Lord will not cast off for ever.

32 И хотя Он посылает страдания, Он же потом и помилует по Своей великой любви.

For though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

33 В едь не по изволению сердца Своего Он приносит бедствие и горе людям.

For he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.

34 А когда топчут ногами всех узников земли,

To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,

35 л ишают человека правосудия перед лицом Всевышнего,

To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,

36 п ритесняют человека на суде, разве Владыка всего этого не видит?

To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.

37 К то может сказать – и исполнится, если Владыка не повелит этому случиться?

Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

38 Н е по слову ли Всевышнего приходят бедствие и благо?

Out of the mouth of the Most High cometh there not evil and good?

39 Д ля чего жаловаться человеку, ведь он остался жив, хоть и был наказан за грехи свои?

Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

40 П роверим же пути наши и испытаем их, и вернемся к Господу.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.

41 В ознесем сердца наши и руки к Богу на небесах и скажем:

Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

42 « Мы согрешили и восстали против тебя, и Ты не простил нас.

We have transgressed and have rebelled; thou hast not pardoned.

43 Т ы покрыл Себя гневом и преследовал нас, губя без пощады.

Thou hast covered with anger and pursued us; thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

44 Т ы скрыл Себя облаком, чтобы не доходила наша молитва.

Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.

45 Т ы сделал нас грязью и сором среди народов.

Thou hast made us an off-scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.

46 В се враги наши широко разинули свою пасть на нас.

All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.

47 М ы страдали от ужаса и западни, опустошения и разорения».

Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and destruction.

48 Р учьями слезы текут из глаз моих, потому что народ мой уничтожен.

Mine eye runneth down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49 С лезы мои будут течь, не останавливаясь, без перерыва,

Mine eye poureth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,

50 п ока Господь не посмотрит с небес и не увидит.

Till Jehovah look down, and behold from heaven.

51 Я смотрю, и горечь наполняет душу мою за всех дочерей моего города.

Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.

52 Б ез причины враги мои пытались поймать меня, словно птицу,

They have chased me sore like a bird, they that are mine enemies without cause.

53 б росили меня в яму и камнями закидали меня.

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone upon me.

54 В оды сомкнулись над моей головой, и я подумал: «Погиб я».

Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.

55 Я воззвал к Имени Твоему, о Господь, из ямы глубокой.

I called upon thy name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest dungeon.

56 Т ы услышал голос мой; не закрывай же ухо Свое от моей мольбы об облегчении.

Thou heardest my voice; hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

57 Т ы приближался, когда я взывал к Тебе, и говорил: «Не бойся».

Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee; thou saidst, Fear not.

58 О Владыка, Ты защищал дело души моей, искуплял жизнь мою.

O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

59 Т ы видишь, Господи, угнетение мое, рассуди же тяжбу мою.

O Jehovah, thou hast seen my wrong; judge thou my cause.

60 Т ы видишь всю их мстительность, все их заговоры против меня.

Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.

61 О Господь, Ты слышишь их оскорбления, все их заговоры против меня,

Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, and all their devices against me,

62 к ак враги перешептываются обо мне весь день.

The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

63 В згляни на них! Сидят ли они, стоят ли, они насмехаются надо мною в своих песнях.

Behold thou their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song.

64 В оздай им, Господи, по делам их рук.

Thou wilt render unto them a recompense, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands.

65 М раком покрой их сердца, и пусть проклятье Твое будет на них.

Thou wilt give them hardness of heart, thy curse unto them.

66 П реследуй их в гневе и истреби их из поднебесья, о Господь.

Thou wilt pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Jehovah.
