3 P ut not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no help.

Não confiem em príncipes, em meros mortais, incapazes de salvar.

4 W hen his breath leaves him, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts, plans, and purposes perish.

Quando o espírito deles se vai, eles voltam ao pó; naquele mesmo dia acabam-se os seus planos.

5 H appy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

Como é feliz aquele cujo auxílio é o Deus de Jacó, cuja esperança está no Senhor, no seu Deus,

6 W ho made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth and is faithful forever,

que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo o que neles há, e que mantém a sua fidelidade para sempre!

7 W ho executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets free the prisoners,

Ele defende a causa dos oprimidos e dá alimento aos famintos. O Senhor liberta os presos,

8 T he Lord opens the eyes of the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous (those upright in heart and in right standing with Him).

o Senhor dá vista aos cegos, o Senhor levanta os abatidos, o Senhor ama os justos.

9 T he Lord protects and preserves the strangers and temporary residents, He upholds the fatherless and the widow and sets them upright, but the way of the wicked He makes crooked (turns upside down and brings to ruin).

O Senhor protege o estrangeiro e sustém o órfão e a viúva, mas frustra o propósito dos ímpios.

10 T he Lord shall reign forever, even Your God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
