1 L et me sing of and for my greatly Beloved a tender song of my Beloved concerning His vineyard. My greatly Beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.

Cantarei para o meu amigo o seu cântico a respeito de sua vinha: Meu amigo tinha uma vinha na encosta de uma fértil colina.

2 A nd He dug and trenched the ground and gathered out the stones from it and planted it with the choicest vine and built a tower in the midst of it and hewed out a winepress in it. And He looked for it to bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

Ele cavou a terra, tirou as pedras e plantou as melhores videiras. Construiu uma torre de sentinela e também fez um tanque de prensar uvas. Ele esperava que desse uvas boas, mas só deu uvas azedas.

3 A nd now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between Me and My vineyard.

“Agora, habitantes de Jerusalém e homens de Judá, julguem entre mim e a minha vinha.

4 W hat more could have been done for My vineyard that I have not done in it? When I looked for it to bring forth grapes, why did it yield wild grapes?

Que mais se poderia fazer por ela que eu não tenha feito? Então, por que só produziu uvas azedas, quando eu esperava uvas boas?

5 A nd now I will tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be eaten and burned up; and I will break down its wall, and it shall be trodden down.

Pois eu lhes digo o que vou fazer com a minha vinha: Derrubarei a sua cerca para que ela seja tranformada em pasto; derrubarei o seu muro para que seja pisoteada.

6 A nd I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned or cultivated, but there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

Farei dela um terreno baldio; não será podada nem capinada; espinheiros e ervas daninhas crescerão nela. Também ordenarei às nuvens que não derramem chuva sobre ela."

7 F or the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant planting. And He looked for justice, but behold, oppression and bloodshed; for righteousness (for uprightness and right standing with God), but behold, a cry!

Pois bem, a vinha do Senhor dos Exércitos é a nação de Israel, e os homens de Judá são a plantação que ele amava. Ele esperava justiça, mas houve derramamento de sangue; esperava retidão, mas ouviu gritos de aflição. Ais e Julgamentos

8 W oe to those who join house to house and join field to field until there is no place for others and you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!

Ai de vocês que adquirem casas e mais casas, propriedades e mais propriedades, até não haver mais lugar para ninguém e vocês se tornarem os senhores absolutos da terra!

9 I n my ears the Lord of hosts said, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and beautiful ones shall be without inhabitant.

O Senhor dos Exércitos me disse: “Sem dúvida muitas casas ficarão abandonadas, as casas belas e grandes ficarão sem moradores.

10 F or ten acres of vineyard shall yield only about eight gallons, and ten bushels of seed will produce but one bushel.

Uma vinha de dez alqueires só produzirá um pote de vinho, um barril de semente só dará uma arroba de trigo”.

11 W oe unto those who rise early in the morning, that they may pursue strong drink, who tarry late into the night till wine inflames them!

Ai dos que se levantam cedo para embebedar-se, e se esquentam com o vinho até a noite!

12 T hey have lyre and harp, tambourine and flute and wine at their feasts, but they do not regard the deeds of the Lord, neither do they consider the operation of His hands.

Harpas, liras, tamborins, flautas e vinho há em suas festas, mas não se importam com os atos do Senhor, nem atentam para obra que as suas mãos realizam.

13 T herefore My people go into captivity without knowing it and because they have no knowledge. And their honorable men are famished, and their common people are parched with thirst.

Portanto, o meu povo vai para o exílio por falta de conhecimento; a elite morrerá de fome, e as multidões, de sede.

14 T herefore Sheol (the unseen state, the realm of the dead) has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth without measure; and nobility and her multitude and her pomp and tumult and who exults in her descend into it.

Por isso o Sheol aumenta o seu apetite e escancara a sua boca. Para dentro dele descerão o esplendor da cidade e a sua riqueza, o seu barulho e os que se divertem.

15 A nd the common man is bowed down, and the great man is brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are humbled.

Por isso o homem será abatido, a humanidade se curvará, e os arrogantes terão que baixar os olhos.

16 B ut the Lord of hosts is exalted in justice, and God, the Holy One, shows Himself holy in righteousness and through righteous judgments.

Mas o Senhor dos Exércitos será exaltado em sua justiça; o Deus santo se mostrará santo em sua retidão.

17 T hen shall the lambs feed as in their own pasture, and the desolate places of the rich shall sojourners and aliens eat.

Então ovelhas pastarão ali como em sua própria pastagem; cordeiros comerão nas ruínas dos ricos.

18 W oe to those who draw with cords of iniquity and falsehood, who bring punishment to themselves with a cart rope of wickedness,

Ai dos que se prendem à iniqüidade com cordas de engano, e ao pecado com cordas de carroça,

19 W ho say, Let make haste and speed His vengeance, that we may see it; and let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!

e dizem: “Que Deus apresse a realização da sua obra para que a vejamos; que se cumpra o plano do Santo de Israel, para que o conheçamos”.

20 W oe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

Ai dos que chamam ao mal bem e ao bem, mal, que fazem das trevas luz e da luz, trevas, do amargo, doce e do doce, amargo!

21 W oe to those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent and shrewd in their own sight!

22 W oe to those who are mighty heroes at drinking wine and men of strength in mixing alcoholic drinks!—

Ai dos que são campeões em beber vinho e mestres em misturar bebidas,

23 W ho justify and acquit the guilty for a bribe, but take away the rights of the innocent and righteous from them!

dos que por suborno absolvem o culpado, mas negam justiça ao inocente!

24 T herefore, as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be like rottenness and their blossom shall go up like fine dust—because they have rejected and cast away the law and the teaching of the Lord of hosts and have not believed but have treated scornfully and have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Por isso, assim como a palha é consumida pelo fogo e o restolho é devorado pelas chamas, assim também as suas raízes apodrecerão e as suas flores, como pó, serão levadas pelo vento; pois rejeitaram a lei do Senhor dos Exércitos, desprezaram a palavra do Santo de Israel.

25 T herefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against His people, and He has stretched forth His hand against them and has smitten them. And the mountains trembled, and their dead bodies were like dung and sweepings in the midst of the streets. For all this, His anger is not turned away, but His hand is still stretched out.

Por tudo isso a ira do Senhor acendeu-se contra o seu povo, e ele levantou sua mão para os ferir. Os montes tremeram, e os seus cadáveres estão como lixo nas ruas. Apesar disso tudo, a ira dele não se desviou; sua mão continua erguida.

26 A nd He will lift up a signal to call together a hostile people from afar, and will hiss for them from the end of the earth, and behold, they shall come with speed, swiftly!

Ele levanta uma bandeira convocando uma nação distante, e assobia para um povo dos confins da terra. Aí vêm eles rapidamente!

27 N one is weary or stumbles among them, none slumbers or sleeps; nor is the girdle of their loins loosed or the latchet (thong) of their shoes broken;

Nenhum dos seus soldados se cansa nem tropeça, nenhum deles cochila nem dorme, nenhum afrouxa o cinto, nenhum desamarra a correia das sandálias.

28 T heir arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses’ hoofs seem like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.

As flechas deles estão afiadas, preparados estão todos os seus arcos; os cascos dos seus cavalos são duros como pedra, as rodas de seus carros são como um furacão.

29 T heir roaring is like that of a lioness, they roar like young lions; they growl and seize their prey and carry it safely away, and there is none to deliver it.

O rugido deles é como o do leão; rugem como leões ferozes; rosnam enquanto se apoderam da presa e a arrastam, sem que ninguém possa livrá-la.

30 A nd in that day they shall roar against like the roaring of the sea. And if one looks to the land, behold, there is darkness and distress; and the light will be darkened by the clouds of it.

Naquele dia rugirão sobre Judá como o rugir do mar. E, se alguém olhar para a terra de Israel, verá trevas e aflição; até a luz do dia será obscurecida pelas nuvens.
