1 A nd the man brought me to the temple and measured the wall pillars, six cubits broad on one side and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle or tent.

Depois o homem me levou ao santuário externo e mediu os batentes; a largura dos batentes era de três metros em cada lado.

2 A nd the breadth of the entrance was ten cubits, and the leaves of the door were five cubits on the one side and five cubits on the other side; and he measured its length, forty cubits, and its breadth, twenty cubits.

A entrada tinha cinco metros de largura, e as paredes salientes em cada lado tinham dois metros e meio de largura. Ele mediu também o santuário externo; e ele tinha vinte metros de comprimento e dez de largura.

3 T hen the man went inside and measured each post of the door, two cubits, the doorway, six cubits, and the breadth of the entrance, seven cubits.

Depois entrou no santuário interno e mediu os batentes da entrada; cada um tinha um metro de largura. A entrada tinha três metros de largura, e as paredes salientes em cada lado dela tinham três metros e meio de largura.

4 A nd he measured the length in the temple proper, twenty cubits, and the breadth, twenty cubits; and he said to me, This is the Most Holy Place (the Holy of Holies).

E ele mediu o comprimento do santuário interno; tinha dez metros, e sua largura era de dez metros até o fim do santuário externo. Ele me disse: “Este é o Lugar Santíssimo”.

5 T hen he measured the wall of the temple, six cubits thick; and the breadth of every side chamber, four cubits, round about the temple proper on every side.

Depois mediu a parede do templo; tinha três metros de espessura, e cada quarto lateral em torno do templo tinha dois metros de largura.

6 T hese side chambers were three stories high, one over another and thirty in each story; and they entered into the wall which belonged to the house for the side chambers round about, that they might have hold of the wall, but they did not have hold of the wall of the temple.

Os quartos laterais, sobrepostos uns aos outros, ficavam em três andares, havendo trinta em cada andar. Havia saliências em torno de toda a parede do templo para servirem de pontos de apoio para os quartos laterais, para que não fossem incrustados na parede do templo.

7 A nd the side rooms became broader as they encompassed the temple higher and higher, for the encircling of the house went higher and higher round about the temple; therefore the breadth of the house continued upward, and so one went up from the lowest story to the highest one by way of the middle story.

As paredes laterais em torno de todo o templo eram mais largas em cada andar superior. A estrutura em torno do templo foi construída em plataformas ascendentes, de modo que os quartos ficavam mais largos à medida que se subia. Uma escada subia do andar inferior até o andar superior, servindo também o andar do meio.

8 I saw also that the temple had an elevation or foundation platform round about it. The foundations of the side chambers measured a full reed measure of six long cubits.

9 T he thickness of the outer wall of the side chamber was five cubits, as was the width of that part of the foundation that was left free of the side chambers that belonged to the house.

10 A nd between the chambers was a breadth of twenty cubits round about the temple on every side.

11 A nd the doors of the attached side chambers opened on the free space that was left, one door toward the north and another door toward the south; and the breadth of the space on the foundation platform that was left free was five cubits round about.

12 A nd the building that faced the temple yard on the west side was seventy cubits broad, and the wall of the building was five cubits thick round about, and its length ninety cubits.

O prédio em frente do pátio do templo no lado oeste media trinta e cinco metros de largura. A parede do prédio tinha dois metros e meio de espessura em toda a sua volta, e o seu comprimento era de quarenta e cinco metros.

13 A nd the man measured the temple, a hundred cubits long; and the yard and the building with its walls, a hundred cubits long;

Depois ele mediu o templo; tinha cinqüenta metros de comprimento, e o pátio do templo e o prédio com suas paredes também tinham cinqüenta metros de comprimento.

14 A lso the breadth of the east front of the temple and the yard, a hundred cubits.

A largura do pátio do templo no lado oeste, inclusive a frente do templo, era de cinqüenta metros.

15 T hen the man measured the length of the building on the west side of the yard with its walls on either side, a hundred cubits. The Holy Place of the temple, the inner Holy of Holies, and the outer vestibule

16 W ere roofed over, and all three had latticed windows all around. The inside walls of the temple were paneled with wood round about from the floor up to the windows and from the windows to the roof,

17 I ncluding the space above the door leading to the inner room, inside and out. And on the walls round about in the inner room and the Holy Place were carvings,

18 W ith figures of cherubim and palm trees, so that a palm tree was between a cherub and a cherub; and every cherub had two faces,

havia querubins e tamareiras em relevo. As tamareiras alternavam com os querubins. Cada querubim tinha dois rostos:

19 S o that the face of a man was toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side. It was made this way through all the house round about.

o rosto de um homem virado para a tamareira de um dos lados, e o rosto de um leão virado para a tamareira do outro lado. Estavam em relevo ao redor de todo o templo.

20 F rom the floor to above the entrance were cherubim and palm trees made, and also on the wall of the temple.

Desde o chão até a área acima da entrada havia querubins e tamareiras em relevo na parede do santuário externo.

21 T he door frames of the temple were squared, and in front was what appeared to be

O santuário externo tinha batentes retangulares, e o que ficava em frente do Santo dos Santos era semelhante.

22 A n altar of wood, three cubits high and two cubits long; and its corners, its base, and its sides were of wood. And the man said to me, This is the table that is before the Lord.

Havia um altar de madeira com um metro e meio de altura e um metro em cada lado; seus cantos, sua base e seus lados eram de madeira. O homem me disse: “Esta é a mesa que fica diante do Senhor ”.

23 A nd the temple or Holy Place and the sanctuary or Holy of Holies, had two doors.

Tanto o santuário externo quanto o Santo dos Santos tinham portas duplas.

24 A nd the doors had two leaves apiece, two folding leaves—two leaves for the one door and two leaves for the other door.

Cada porta tinha duas folhas articuladas.

25 A nd there were carved on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubim and palm trees, like those carved upon the walls; and there was also a canopy of wood in front of the porch outside.

E nas portas do santuário externo havia querubins e tamareiras esculpidos em relevo, como os que havia nas paredes, e havia também uma saliência de madeira na frente do pórtico.

26 A nd there were recessed windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side of the porch. Thus were the side chambers and the canopies of the house.

Nas paredes laterais do pórtico havia janelas estreitas com tamareiras em relevo em cada lado. Os quartos laterais do templo também tinham saliências.
