1 L et me sing of and for my greatly Beloved a tender song of my Beloved concerning His vineyard. My greatly Beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.

2 A nd He dug and trenched the ground and gathered out the stones from it and planted it with the choicest vine and built a tower in the midst of it and hewed out a winepress in it. And He looked for it to bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

Người khai phá ra; cất bỏ những đá; trồng những gốc nho xinh tốt; dựng một cái tháp giữa vườn, và đào một nơi ép rượu. Vả, người mong rằng sẽ sanh trái nho; nhưng nó lại sanh trái nho hoang.

3 A nd now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between Me and My vineyard.

Hỡi dân ở Giê-ru-sa-lem cùng người Giu-đa, vậy thì bây giờ ta xin các ngươi hãy đoán xét giữa ta với vườn nho ta.

4 W hat more could have been done for My vineyard that I have not done in it? When I looked for it to bring forth grapes, why did it yield wild grapes?

Có điều chi nên làm cho vườn nho ta mà ta không làm cho nó chăng? Cớ sao khi ta mong sanh trái nho, thì nó lại sanh trái nho hoang vậy?

5 A nd now I will tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be eaten and burned up; and I will break down its wall, and it shall be trodden down.

Nầy, ta sẽ bảo các ngươi về điều ta định làm cho vườn nho ta: Ta phá rào, nó sẽ bị cắn nuốt; ta hạ tường xuống, nó sẽ bị giày đạp.

6 A nd I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned or cultivated, but there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

Ta sẽ để nó hoang loạn, chẳng tỉa sửa, chẳng vun xới; nhưng tại đó sẽ mọc lên những gai gốc và chà chuôm; ta lại truyền cho mây đừng làm mưa xuống trên nó nữa.

7 F or the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant planting. And He looked for justice, but behold, oppression and bloodshed; for righteousness (for uprightness and right standing with God), but behold, a cry!

Vả, vườn nho của Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, ấy là nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên, và những người của Giu-đa tức là cây mà Ngài ưa thích. Ngài trông họ được công chính, mà nầy, có sự bạo ngược; trông được công bình, mà nầy, có tiếng kêu la.

8 W oe to those who join house to house and join field to field until there is no place for others and you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!

Khốn thay cho những kẻ thêm nhà vào nhà, thêm ruộng vào ruộng, cho đến chừng nào chẳng còn chỗ hở nữa, và các ngươi ở một mình giữa xứ!

9 I n my ears the Lord of hosts said, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and beautiful ones shall be without inhabitant.

Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân có phán vào tai tôi những lời nầy: Thật nhiều nhà sẽ bỏ hoang, những nhà ấy lớn và đẹp mà chẳng có người ở!

10 F or ten acres of vineyard shall yield only about eight gallons, and ten bushels of seed will produce but one bushel.

Aáy vậy, mười mẫu vườn nho chỉ sanh được một bát rượu; một ô-me hột giống chỉ được một ê-pha.

11 W oe unto those who rise early in the morning, that they may pursue strong drink, who tarry late into the night till wine inflames them!

Khốn thay cho kẻ dậy sớm đặng tìm kiếm rượu, chầy đến ban đêm, phát nóng vì rượu!

12 T hey have lyre and harp, tambourine and flute and wine at their feasts, but they do not regard the deeds of the Lord, neither do they consider the operation of His hands.

Trong tiệc yến họ có những đờn cầm, đờn sắt, trống cơm, ống sáo và rượu nữa, những chẳng thiết đến công việc Đức Giê-hô-va; họ chẳng xem xét công trình của tay Ngài.

13 T herefore My people go into captivity without knowing it and because they have no knowledge. And their honorable men are famished, and their common people are parched with thirst.

Vậy nên, dân ta phải bắt làm phu tù, vì không hiểu biết; kẻ sang nó chịu đói, chúng dân nó chịu khát.

14 T herefore Sheol (the unseen state, the realm of the dead) has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth without measure; and nobility and her multitude and her pomp and tumult and who exults in her descend into it.

Vậy nên sự ham muốn của âm phủ đã rộng thêm, hả miệng vô ngần, sự vinh hiển nó, dân chúng nó, sự sang trọng nó đều sa xuống đó.

15 A nd the common man is bowed down, and the great man is brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are humbled.

Kẻ hèn bị khuất; kẻ tôn trọng bị thấp hèn, con mắt người cao ngạo bị hạ xuống;

16 B ut the Lord of hosts is exalted in justice, and God, the Holy One, shows Himself holy in righteousness and through righteous judgments.

song Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân lên cao trong sự công chính, Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng Thánh nên thánh trong sự công bình.

17 T hen shall the lambs feed as in their own pasture, and the desolate places of the rich shall sojourners and aliens eat.

Bấy giờ những chiên con sẽ ăn cỏ như trong đồng cỏ mình, người ngụ cư sẽ ăn ruộng hoang của kẻ giàu.

18 W oe to those who draw with cords of iniquity and falsehood, who bring punishment to themselves with a cart rope of wickedness,

Khốn thay cho kẻ lấy sự dối trá làm dây kéo sự gian ác theo sau, và như dùng đỏi xe kéo tội lỗi;

19 W ho say, Let make haste and speed His vengeance, that we may see it; and let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!

họ nói: Xin vội vã kíp làm nên công việc Ngài, hầu cho chúng tôi thấy! Nguyền xin mưu của Đấng Thánh Y-sơ-ra-ên hãy lại gần, hãy tới đến, cho chúng tôi được biết!

20 W oe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

Khốn thay cho kẻ gọi dữ là lành, gọi lành là dữ; lấy tối làm sáng, lấy sáng làm tối; vậy chi cay trở cho là ngọt, vật chi ngọt trở cho là cay.

21 W oe to those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent and shrewd in their own sight!

Khốn thay cho kẻ chính mắt mình coi mình là khôn ngoan, tự mình xét đoán mình là thông sáng!

22 W oe to those who are mighty heroes at drinking wine and men of strength in mixing alcoholic drinks!—

Khốn thay cho kẻ mạnh uống rượu, có sức lực đặng pha các thức uống hay say;

23 W ho justify and acquit the guilty for a bribe, but take away the rights of the innocent and righteous from them!

vì hối lộ mà xưng kẻ có tội là công bình, và cướp lấy sự công bình của người nghĩa!

24 T herefore, as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be like rottenness and their blossom shall go up like fine dust—because they have rejected and cast away the law and the teaching of the Lord of hosts and have not believed but have treated scornfully and have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Vậy nên, như lửa đốt gốc rạ và rơm cháy thiêu trong ngọn lửa thể nào, thì rễ họ cùng mục nát và hoa họ cùng bay đi như bụi đất thể ấy; vì họ đã bỏ luật pháp của Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, và khinh lời của Đấng Thánh Y-sơ-ra-ên.

25 T herefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against His people, and He has stretched forth His hand against them and has smitten them. And the mountains trembled, and their dead bodies were like dung and sweepings in the midst of the streets. For all this, His anger is not turned away, but His hand is still stretched out.

Nhơn đó, cơn thạnh nộ của Đức Giê-hô-va phừng lên nghịch cùng dân Ngài. Ngài đã giơ tay nghịch cùng nó và đánh nó; núi non đều rúng động: xác chết chúng nó như phân ngang ngửa giữa đường. Dầu vậy, cơn giận Ngài chẳng lánh khỏi, nhưng tay Ngài còn giơ ra.

26 A nd He will lift up a signal to call together a hostile people from afar, and will hiss for them from the end of the earth, and behold, they shall come with speed, swiftly!

Ngài dựng cờ lên hướng về các dân tộc ở xa cách, và xuýt mà gọi họ từ nơi đầu cùng đất; và nầy, họ lật đật chạy đến, kíp và mau.

27 N one is weary or stumbles among them, none slumbers or sleeps; nor is the girdle of their loins loosed or the latchet (thong) of their shoes broken;

Trong đám họ không một người nào mỏi mệt, chẳng ai vấp váp, chẳng ai ngủ gật hoặc ngủ mê; không ai có dây lưng tháo ra hoặc dây giày đứt.

28 T heir arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses’ hoofs seem like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.

Tên của họ đã nhọn, cung đã giương; vó ngựa cứng dường đá, bánh xe như gió lốc.

29 T heir roaring is like that of a lioness, they roar like young lions; they growl and seize their prey and carry it safely away, and there is none to deliver it.

Tiếng gầm khác nào sư tử cái; rống như sư tử con; chúng nó sẽ rống và bắt mồi đem đi, không ai cứu được.

30 A nd in that day they shall roar against like the roaring of the sea. And if one looks to the land, behold, there is darkness and distress; and the light will be darkened by the clouds of it.

Trong ngày đó, sẽ có tiếng gầm nghịch cùng nó khác nào tiếng sóng biển ầm ầm; nếu người ta nó vào xứ, chỉ thấy tối tăm và khốn nạn: sự sáng sẽ bị che tối bước các chòm mây.
