1 O Israel, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled and fallen, due to your iniquity.

Hỡi Y-sơ-ra-ên, hãy trở lại cùng Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời ngươi, vì ấy là tại tội lỗi ngươi làm cho ngươi sa ngã.

2 T ake with you words and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all our iniquity; accept what is good and receive us graciously; so will we render as bullocks and pay the confession of our lips.

Các ngươi khá lấy lời nói trở lại cùng Ngài rằng: Xin cất mọi sự gian ác đi, và nhậm sự tốt lành, vậy chúng ta sẽ dâng lời ngợi khen ở môi chúng tôi thay vì con bò đực.

3 A ssyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, You are our gods. For in You the fatherless find love, pity, and mercy.

A-si-ri sẽ không giải cứu chúng tôi, chúng tôi sẽ không cỡi ngựa chiến nữa, không nói với đồ bởi tay chúng tôi làm ra mà rằng: Các ngài là thần của chúng tôi! Vì ấy là trong Ngài mà kẻ mồ côi tìm thấy sự thương xót!

4 I will heal their faithlessness; I will love them freely, for My anger is turned away from.

Ta sẽ chữa lành sự bội nghịch của chúng nó. Ta sẽ lấy lòng tốt yêu chúng nó; vì cơn giận của ta đã xây khỏi nó rồi.

5 I will be like the dew and the night mist to Israel; he shall grow and blossom like the lily and cast forth his roots like Lebanon.

Ta sẽ như là sương móc cho Y-sơ-ra-ên; nó trổ hoa như bông huệ, và đâm rễ như Li-ban.

6 H is suckers and shoots shall spread, and his beauty shall be like the olive tree and his fragrance like Lebanon.

Những nhánh nó giang ra tận xa; sự xinh tốt của nó sẽ giống như sự xinh tốt của cây ô-li-ve, mùi thơm của nó như mùi thơm của Li-ban.

7 T hey that dwell under his shade shall return; they shall revive like the grain and blossom like the vine; the scent of it shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

Những kẻ ngồi dưới bóng nó sẽ trở về; chúng nó sẽ tỉnh lại như cây lúa. Chúng nó sẽ trổ hoa như cây nho, và mùi thơm chúng nó sẽ như rượu Li-ban.

8 E phraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered and will regard and watch over him; I am like a green fir or cypress tree; with Me is the fruit found.

9 W ho is wise, that he may understand these things? Prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of the Lord are right and the just shall walk in them, but transgressors shall stumble and fall in them.

Ai là khôn ngoan mà hiểu những sự nầy? Ai là giỏi giang mà biết những sự đó? Vì các đường lối của Đức Giê-hô-va là ngay thẳng; những kẻ công bình sẽ bước đi trong đó, còn những kẻ phạm phép thì vấp ngã trong đó.
