Gióp cất tiếng đáp rằng:

2 H ow you have helped him who is without power! How you have sustained the arm that is without strength!

Ngươi đã phù trợ kẻ không quyền dường nào! Tiếp cứu cánh tay chẳng sức lực,

3 H ow you have counseled him who has no wisdom! And how plentifully you have declared to him sound knowledge!

Khuyên luận kẻ vô tri, Và tỏ biết bao sự khôn sáng chơn thật!

4 W ith whose assistance have you uttered these words? And whose spirit came forth from you?

Người đã giảng luận cho ai? Linh hồn của ai bởi người mà ra?

5 T he shades of the dead tremble underneath the waters and their inhabitants.

Kẻ qua đời run rảy Dưới nước lớn, và muôn vật ở đó cũng vậy.

6 S heol (the place of the dead) is naked before God, and Abaddon (the place of destruction) has no covering.

7 H e it is Who spreads out the northern skies over emptiness and hangs the earth upon or over nothing.

Chúa trải bắc cực ra trên vùng trống, Treo trái đất trong khoảng không không.

8 H e holds the waters bound in His clouds, and the cloud is not rent under them.

Ngài ém nước trong các áng mây Ngài, Mà áng mây không bứt ra vì nước ấy.

9 H e covers the face of His throne and spreads over it His cloud.

Ngài che khuất bề mặt của ngai Ngài, Và trải mây Ngài ở trên nó.

10 H e has placed an enclosing limit upon the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.

Ngài đã vẽ một vòng tròn trên mặt nước, Cho đến nơi giới cực của ánh sáng và tối tăm giáp nhau.

11 T he pillars of the heavens tremble and are astonished at His rebuke.

Nhưng trụ của các từng trời rúng động, Và sững sờ khi Đức Chúa Trời hăm dọa.

12 H e stills or stirs up the sea by His power, and by His understanding He smites proud Rahab.

Ngài lấy quyền năng mình mà khiến biển dậy lên, Và nhờ sự khôn ngoan mình mà đánh vỡ Ra-háp.

13 B y His breath the heavens are garnished; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.

Thần Chúa điểm trang các từng trời; Tay Chúa đấm lũng rắn thoảng qua lẹ.

14 Y et these are but the outskirts of His ways or the mere fringes of His force, the faintest whisper of His voice! Who dares contemplate or who can understand the thunders of His full, magnificent power?

Kìa, ấy chỉ là biên giới của các đường lối Ngài; Ta được nghe tiếng nói về Chúa xầm xì nhỏ thay! Nhưng ai hiểu rõ tiếng sấm của quyền năng Ngài?
