3 P ut not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no help.

No pongan su confianza en los poderosos, ni en ningún mortal, porque no pueden salvar.

4 W hen his breath leaves him, he returns to his earth; in that very day his thoughts, plans, and purposes perish.

El día que mueren, vuelven a la tierra, y ese mismo día todos sus planes se acaban.

5 H appy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

¡Dichosos los que confían en el Dios de Jacob, los que cuentan con la ayuda de Dios, el Señor!

6 W ho made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth and is faithful forever,

El Señor creó los cielos y la tierra, y el mar y todos los seres que contiene. El Señor siempre cumple su palabra;

7 W ho executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets free the prisoners,

hace justicia a los oprimidos, y da de comer a los que tienen hambre. El Señor da libertad a los cautivos,

8 T he Lord opens the eyes of the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous (those upright in heart and in right standing with Him).

y les devuelve la vista a los ciegos; El Señor levanta a los caídos; y ama a los que practican la justicia.

9 T he Lord protects and preserves the strangers and temporary residents, He upholds the fatherless and the widow and sets them upright, but the way of the wicked He makes crooked (turns upside down and brings to ruin).

El Señor protege a los extranjeros y sostiene a las viudas y a los huérfanos, pero tuerce el camino de los malvados.

10 T he Lord shall reign forever, even Your God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
