1 A gain I lifted up my eyes and behold, I saw a scroll flying or floating in the air!

Levanté la mirada una vez más, y vi un rollo que volaba.

2 A nd the angel said to me, What do you see? And I answered, I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits or thirty feet and its breadth is ten cubits or fifteen feet.

El ángel me preguntó: «¿Qué es lo que ves?» Y le respondí: «Veo un rollo que vuela, de veinte codos de largo y diez codos de ancho.»

3 T hen he said to me, This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole land; for everyone who steals shall be cut off from henceforth according to it, and everyone who swears falsely shall be cut off from henceforth according to it.

Entonces el ángel me dijo: «Ésta es la maldición que caerá sobre toda la faz de la tierra. Todo el que hurta será destruido (como está escrito de un lado del rollo); y todo aquel que jura falsamente también será destruido (como está escrito del otro lado del rollo).

4 I will bring forth, says the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief and into the house of him who swears falsely by My name; and it shall abide in the midst of his house and shall consume it, both its timber and its stones.

Yo he dejado caer esta maldición sobre la casa del ladrón, y sobre la casa del que en mi nombre jura falsamente; y en medio de su casa permanecerá, hasta consumirla con sus maderas y sus piedras.» —Palabra del Señor de los ejércitos. La mujer dentro de la medida

5 T hen the angel who talked with me came forward and said to me, Lift up now your eyes and see what this is that goes forth.

Luego el ángel que hablaba conmigo salió y me dijo: «Levanta la vista ahora, y fíjate en lo que está saliendo.»

6 A nd I said, What is it? And he said, This that goes forth is an ephah. This, he continued, is the symbol of the sinners mentioned above and is the resemblance of their iniquity throughout the whole land.

Yo dije: «¿Qué cosa es?» Y él me dijo: «Esto que sale es una medida.» Y añadió: «Esta medida representa la iniquidad de ellos en toda la tierra.»

7 A nd behold, a round, flat weight of lead was lifted and there sat a woman in the midst of the ephah.

Entonces se levantó la tapa de plomo, y dentro de la medida estaba sentada una mujer.

8 A nd he said, This is lawlessness (wickedness)! And he thrust her back into the ephah and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth of it!

El ángel dijo: «Ésta es la Maldad.» Y dicho esto, arrojó a la mujer dentro de la medida, y enseguida cubrió ésta con la tapa de plomo.

9 T hen lifted I up my eyes and looked, and behold, there were two women coming forward! The wind was in their wings, for they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.

Levanté luego la mirada, y vi que dos mujeres salían, agitando el aire con sus alas, las cuales eran como de cigüeña. La mujeres levantaron la medida entre la tierra y los cielos.

10 T hen said I to the angel who talked with me, Where are they taking the ephah?

Yo le dije al ángel que hablaba conmigo: «¿A dónde llevan la medida?»

11 A nd he said to me, To the land of Shinar to build it a house, and when it is finished, to set up the ephah there upon its own base.

Y él me respondió: «La llevan a Babilonia, donde le edificarán un templo. En cuanto lo edifiquen, pondrán la medida sobre una base.»
