1 T herefore, now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

Por tanto, no hay ninguna condenación para los que están unidos a Cristo Jesús, los que no andan conforme a la carne, sino conforme al Espíritu,

2 F or the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and of death.

porque la ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha librado de la ley del pecado y de la muerte.

3 F or God has done what the Law could not do, being weakened by the flesh '> the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, condemned sin in the flesh '> subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice],

Porque Dios ha hecho lo que para la ley era imposible hacer, debido a que era débil por su naturaleza pecaminosa: por causa del pecado envió a su Hijo en una condición semejante a la del hombre pecador, y de esa manera condenó al pecado en la carne,

4 S o that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit.

para que la justicia de la ley se cumpliera en nosotros, que no seguimos los pasos de nuestra carne, sino los del Espíritu.

5 F or those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the Spirit.

Porque los que siguen los pasos de la carne fijan su atención en lo que es de la carne, pero los que son del Espíritu, la fijan en lo que es del Espíritu.

6 N ow the mind of the flesh is death '> comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.

Porque el ocuparse de la carne es muerte, pero el ocuparse del Espíritu es vida y paz.

7 b ecause the mind of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot.

Las intenciones de la carne llevan a la enemistad contra Dios; porque no se sujetan a la ley de Dios, ni tampoco pueden;

8 S o then those who are living the life of the flesh cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.

además, los que viven según la carne no pueden agradar a Dios.

9 B ut you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells within you. But if anyone does not possess the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.

Pero ustedes no viven según las intenciones de la carne, sino según el Espíritu, si es que el Espíritu de Dios habita en ustedes. Y si alguno no tiene el Espíritu de Cristo, no es de él.

10 B ut if Christ lives in you, your body is dead by reason of sin and guilt, the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Pero si Cristo está en ustedes, el cuerpo está en verdad muerto a causa del pecado, pero el espíritu vive a causa de la justicia.

11 A nd if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.

Y si el Espíritu de aquel que levantó de los muertos a Jesús vive en ustedes, el que levantó de los muertos a Cristo Jesús también dará vida a sus cuerpos mortales por medio de su Espíritu que vive en ustedes.

12 S o then, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh, to live of the flesh.

Así que, hermanos, tenemos una deuda pendiente, pero no es la de vivir en conformidad con la carne,

13 F or if you live according to the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the Spirit you are putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the deeds prompted by the body, you shall live forever.

porque si ustedes viven en conformidad con la carne, morirán; pero si dan muerte a las obras de la carne por medio del Espíritu, entonces vivirán.

14 F or all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Porque los hijos de Dios son todos aquellos que son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios.

15 F or you have now received not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption in which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

Pues ustedes no han recibido un espíritu que los esclavice nuevamente al miedo, sino que han recibido el espíritu de adopción, por el cual clamamos: ¡Abba, Padre!

16 T he Spirit Himself testifies together with our own spirit, that we are children of God.

El Espíritu mismo da testimonio a nuestro espíritu, de que somos hijos de Dios.

17 A nd if we are children, then we are heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ; only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory.

Y si somos hijos, somos también herederos; herederos de Dios y coherederos con Cristo, si es que padecemos juntamente con él, para que juntamente con él seamos glorificados.

18 F or I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!

Pues no tengo dudas de que las aflicciones del tiempo presente en nada se comparan con la gloria venidera que habrá de revelarse en nosotros.

19 F or creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known.

Porque la creación aguarda con gran impaciencia la manifestación de los hijos de Dios.

20 F or the creation (nature) was subjected to frailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it— with the hope

Porque la creación fue sujetada a vanidad, no por su propia voluntad, sino porque así lo dispuso Dios, pero todavía tiene esperanza,

21 T hat nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption into the glorious freedom of God’s children.

pues también la creación misma será liberada de la esclavitud de corrupción, para así alcanzar la libertad gloriosa de los hijos de Dios.

22 W e know that the whole creation has been moaning together in the pains of labor until now.

Porque sabemos que toda la creación hasta ahora gime a una, y sufre como si tuviera dolores de parto.

23 A nd not only the creation, but we ourselves too, who have and enjoy the firstfruits of the Spirit groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies our adoption (our manifestation as God’s sons).

Y no sólo ella, sino también nosotros, que tenemos las primicias del Espíritu, gemimos dentro de nosotros mismos mientras esperamos la adopción, la redención de nuestro cuerpo.

24 F or in hope we were saved. But hope which is seen is not hope. For how can one hope for what he already sees?

Porque con esa esperanza fuimos salvados. Pero la esperanza que se ve, ya no es esperanza, porque ¿quién espera lo que ya está viendo?

25 B ut if we hope for what is still unseen by us, we wait for it with patience and composure.

Pero si lo que esperamos es algo que todavía no vemos, tenemos que esperarlo con paciencia.

26 S o too the Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.

De igual manera, el Espíritu nos ayuda en nuestra debilidad, pues no sabemos qué nos conviene pedir, pero el Espíritu mismo intercede por nosotros con gemidos indecibles.

27 A nd He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes and pleads in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s will.

Pero el que examina los corazones sabe cuál es la intención del Espíritu, porque intercede por los santos conforme a la voluntad de Dios. Más que vencedores

28 W e are assured and know that '> God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are for good to and for those who love God and are called according to design and purpose.

Ahora bien, sabemos que Dios dispone todas las cosas para el bien de los que lo aman, es decir, de los que él ha llamado de acuerdo a su propósito.

29 F or those whom He foreknew '> aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning to be molded into the image of His Son, that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.

Porque a los que antes conoció, también los predestinó para que sean hechos conforme a la imagen de su Hijo, para que él sea el primogénito entre muchos hermanos.

30 A nd those whom He thus foreordained, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified (acquitted, made righteous, putting them into right standing with Himself). And those whom He justified, He also glorified.

Y a los que predestinó, también los llamó; y a los que llamó, también los justificó; y a los que justificó, también los glorificó.

31 W hat then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who against us?

¿Qué más podemos decir? Que si Dios está a nuestro favor, nadie podrá estar en contra de nosotros.

32 H e who did not withhold or spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all things?

El que no escatimó ni a su propio Hijo, sino que lo entregó por todos nosotros, ¿cómo no nos dará también con él todas las cosas?

33 W ho shall bring any charge against God’s elect God Who justifies

¿Quién acusará a los escogidos de Dios? Dios es el que justifica.

34 W ho is there to condemn ? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?

¿Quién es el que condenará? Cristo es el que murió; más aun, el que también resucitó, el que además está a la derecha de Dios e intercede por nosotros.

35 W ho shall ever separate us from Christ’s love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword?

¿Qué podrá separarnos del amor de Cristo? ¿Tribulación, angustia, persecución, hambre, desnudez, peligro, espada?

36 E ven as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for the slaughter.

Como está escrito: «Por causa de ti siempre nos llevan a la muerte, Somos contados como ovejas de matadero.»

37 Y et amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

Sin embargo, en todo esto somos más que vencedores por medio de aquel que nos amó.

38 F or I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers,

Por lo cual estoy seguro de que ni la muerte, ni la vida, ni los ángeles, ni los principados, ni las potestades, ni lo presente, ni lo por venir,

39 N or height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ni lo alto, ni lo profundo, ni ninguna otra cosa creada nos podrá separar del amor que Dios nos ha mostrado en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor.
