1 P saume d'Asaph. Dieu, Dieu, l'Éternel, parle, et convoque la terre, Depuis le soleil levant jusqu'au soleil couchant.

¶ The God of gods, even the LORD, has spoken and convocated the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

2 D e Sion, beauté parfaite, Dieu resplendit.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined forth.

3 I l vient, notre Dieu, il ne reste pas en silence; Devant lui est un feu dévorant, Autour de lui une violente tempête.

Our God shall come and shall not keep silence; a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

4 I l crie vers les cieux en haut, Et vers la terre, pour juger son peuple:

He shall convocate the heavens of above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.

5 R assemblez-moi mes fidèles, Qui ont fait alliance avec moi par le sacrifice! -

Gather my merciful ones together unto me, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6 E t les cieux publieront sa justice, Car c'est Dieu qui est juge. -Pause.

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is the judge. Selah.

7 É coute, mon peuple! et je parlerai; Israël! et je t'avertirai. Je suis Dieu, ton Dieu.

¶ Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee; I am God, even thy God.

8 C e n'est pas pour tes sacrifices que je te fais des reproches; Tes holocaustes sont constamment devant moi.

I will not reprove thee regarding thy sacrifices; thy burnt offerings are continually before me.

9 J e ne prendrai pas de taureau dans ta maison, Ni de bouc dans tes bergeries.

I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

10 C ar tous les animaux des forêts sont à moi, Toutes les bêtes des montagnes par milliers;

For every beast of the forest is mine and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11 J e connais tous les oiseaux des montagnes, Et tout ce qui se meut dans les champs m'appartient.

I know all the fowls of the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are with me.

12 S i j'avais faim, je ne te le dirais pas, Car le monde est à moi et tout ce qu'il renferme.

If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; for the world is mine and the fullness thereof.

13 E st-ce que je mange la chair des taureaux? Est-ce que je bois le sang des boucs?

Must I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?

14 O ffre pour sacrifice à Dieu des actions de grâces, Et accomplis tes voeux envers le Très Haut.

Sacrifice praise unto God and pay thy vows unto the most High

15 E t invoque-moi au jour de la détresse; Je te délivrerai, et tu me glorifieras.

and call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

16 E t Dieu dit au méchant: Quoi donc! tu énumères mes lois, Et tu as mon alliance à la bouche,

¶ But unto the wicked God saith, What part hast thou to declare my statutes or that thou should take my covenant in thy mouth?

17 T oi qui hais les avis, Et qui jettes mes paroles derrière toi!

Seeing thou dost hate chastening and dost cast my words behind thee.

18 S i tu vois un voleur, tu te plais avec lui, Et ta part est avec les adultères.

When thou didst see a thief, then thou didst consent with him and hast been partaker with adulterers.

19 T u livres ta bouche au mal, Et ta langue est un tissu de tromperies.

Thou didst give thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frames deceit.

20 T u t'assieds, et tu parles contre ton frère, Tu diffames le fils de ta mère.

Thou didst sit and speak against thy brother; thou didst slander thine own mother’s son.

21 V oilà ce que tu as fait, et je me suis tu. Tu t'es imaginé que je te ressemblais; Mais je vais te reprendre, et tout mettre sous tes yeux.

These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou didst think that I was altogether such a one as thyself, but I will reprove thee and set them in order before thine eyes.

22 P renez-y donc garde, vous qui oubliez Dieu, De peur que je ne déchire, sans que personne délivre.

Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I take you away, and there be none to deliver.

23 C elui qui offre pour sacrifice des actions de grâces me glorifie, Et à celui qui veille sur sa voie Je ferai voir le salut de Dieu.

Whosoever sacrifices praise glorifies me; and to him that orders his ways aright I will show the salvation of God.
