¶ Out of the depths I cry unto thee, O LORD.

2 S eigneur, écoute ma voix! Que tes oreilles soient attentives A la voix de mes supplications!

Lord, hear my voice; let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

3 S i tu gardais le souvenir des iniquités, Éternel, Seigneur, qui pourrait subsister?

If thou, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall endure?

4 M ais le pardon se trouve auprès de toi, Afin qu'on te craigne.

Therefore there is forgiveness close to thee, that thou may be feared.

5 J 'espère en l'Éternel, mon âme espère, Et j'attends sa promesse.

¶ I have waited for the LORD, my soul has waited, and for his word I have waited.

6 M on âme compte sur le Seigneur, Plus que les gardes ne comptent sur le matin, Que les gardes ne comptent sur le matin.

My soul has waited for the Lord more than those that watch for the morning: I say, more than those that watch for the morning.

7 I sraël, mets ton espoir en l'Éternel! Car la miséricorde est auprès de l'Éternel, Et la rédemption est auprès de lui en abondance.

Let Israel wait for the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy and plenteous redemption close to him.

8 C 'est lui qui rachètera Israël De toutes ses iniquités.

And he shall ransom Israel from all his sins.
