1 L ouez l'Éternel! Mon âme, loue l'Éternel!

¶ Halelu-JAH. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

2 J e louerai l'Éternel tant que je vivrai, Je célébrerai mon Dieu tant que j'existerai.

In my life I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises unto my God while I live.

3 N e vous confiez pas aux grands, Aux fils de l'homme, qui ne peuvent sauver.

Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man in whom there is no salvation.

4 L eur souffle s'en va, ils rentrent dans la terre, Et ce même jour leurs desseins périssent.

His spirit shall go forth, he shall return to his earth; in that very day all his thoughts shall perish.

5 H eureux celui qui a pour secours le Dieu de Jacob, Qui met son espoir en l'Éternel, son Dieu!

¶ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God;

6 I l a fait les cieux et la terre, La mer et tout ce qui s'y trouve. Il garde la fidélité à toujours.

who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keeps truth for ever:

7 I l fait droit aux opprimés; Il donne du pain aux affamés; L'Éternel délivre les captifs;

He who does justice unto the oppressed; who gives bread to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners:

8 L 'Éternel ouvre les yeux des aveugles; L'Éternel redresse ceux qui sont courbés; L'Éternel aime les justes.

The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; the LORD raises those that are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous:

9 L 'Éternel protège les étrangers, Il soutient l'orphelin et la veuve, Mais il renverse la voie des méchants.

The LORD preserves the strangers; he raises up the fatherless and widow; but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.

10 L 'Éternel règne éternellement; Ton Dieu, ô Sion! subsiste d'âge en âge! Louez l'Éternel!

The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Halelu-JAH.
