1 T he Mighty One, God the Lord, Has spoken and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down.

¶ The God of gods, even the LORD, has spoken and convocated the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

2 O ut of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined forth.

3 O ur God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

Our God shall come and shall not keep silence; a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

4 H e shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that He may judge His people:

He shall convocate the heavens of above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.

5 Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”

Gather my merciful ones together unto me, those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6 L et the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is Judge. Selah

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is the judge. Selah.

7 Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God!

¶ Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee; I am God, even thy God.

8 I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me.

I will not reprove thee regarding thy sacrifices; thy burnt offerings are continually before me.

9 I will not take a bull from your house, Nor goats out of your folds.

I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

10 F or every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.

For every beast of the forest is mine and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11 I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine.

I know all the fowls of the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are with me.

12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.

If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; for the world is mine and the fullness thereof.

13 W ill I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?

Must I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?

14 O ffer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High.

Sacrifice praise unto God and pay thy vows unto the most High

15 C all upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

and call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

16 B ut to the wicked God says: “What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth,

¶ But unto the wicked God saith, What part hast thou to declare my statutes or that thou should take my covenant in thy mouth?

17 S eeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you?

Seeing thou dost hate chastening and dost cast my words behind thee.

18 W hen you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have been a partaker with adulterers.

When thou didst see a thief, then thou didst consent with him and hast been partaker with adulterers.

19 Y ou give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit.

Thou didst give thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frames deceit.

20 Y ou sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son.

Thou didst sit and speak against thy brother; thou didst slander thine own mother’s son.

21 T hese things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes.

These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou didst think that I was altogether such a one as thyself, but I will reprove thee and set them in order before thine eyes.

22 Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver:

Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I take you away, and there be none to deliver.

23 W hoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.”

Whosoever sacrifices praise glorifies me; and to him that orders his ways aright I will show the salvation of God.
