1 A nd the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
2 “ Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy.
Speak unto all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say unto them, Ye shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.
3 ‘ Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and keep My Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.
Ye shall fear, every man his mother and his father and keep my sabbaths. I AM your God.
4 ‘ Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the Lord your God.
Do not return unto idols nor make to yourselves molten gods. I AM your God.
5 ‘ And if you offer a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lord, you shall offer it of your own free will.
And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace unto the LORD, ye shall offer it of your own free will.
6 I t shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day. And if any remains until the third day, it shall be burned in the fire.
It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it and on the next day, and any remaining until the third day shall be burnt in the fire.
7 A nd if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination. It shall not be accepted.
And if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted;
8 T herefore everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the hallowed offering of the Lord; and that person shall be cut off from his people.
and whoever eats it shall bear his iniquity because he has profaned the holiness of the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from among his people.
9 ‘ When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest.
And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not completely reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleanings of thy harvest.
10 A nd you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the Lord your God.
And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the fallen grapes of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and the stranger. I AM your God.
11 ‘ You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.
¶ Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
12 A nd you shall not swear by My name falsely, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.
And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou defile the name of thy God. I am the LORD.
13 ‘ You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning.
Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him. Do not detain the wages of the work of the hired man in thy house until the morning.
14 Y ou shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am the Lord.
Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God. I am the LORD.
15 ‘ You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor.
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, neither pleasing the poor, nor favoring the mighty; but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
16 Y ou shall not go about as a talebearer among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.
Thou shalt not travel about as a talebearer among thy people; neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour. I am the LORD.
17 ‘ You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart; thou shalt rebuke thy neighbour in sincerity, that thou not bear sin for him.
18 Y ou shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the sons of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. I am the LORD.
19 ‘ You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.
¶ Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy animal join with a diverse kind for mixtures; thou shalt not sow thy field with mixture, neither shalt thou wear garments of a mixture of different things.
20 ‘ Whoever lies carnally with a woman who is betrothed to a man as a concubine, and who has not at all been redeemed nor given her freedom, for this there shall be scourging; but they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
And when a man lies carnally with a woman that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband and has not been completely ransomed nor been given her freedom, both shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death because she is not free.
21 A nd he shall bring his trespass offering to the Lord, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, a ram as a trespass offering.
And he shall bring in expiation for his guilt unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, a ram for expiation of guilt.
22 T he priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the Lord for his sin which he has committed. And the sin which he has committed shall be forgiven him.
And the priest shall reconcile him with the ram of the guilt before the LORD for his sin which he has committed, and the sin which he has committed shall be forgiven him.
23 ‘ When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised. Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you. It shall not be eaten.
And when ye have come into the land and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall circumcise the foreskin of the fruit; three years it shall be uncircumcised unto you; it shall not be eaten of.
24 B ut in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a praise to the Lord.
But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holiness of rejoicing unto the LORD.
25 A nd in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, that it may yield to you its increase: I am the Lord your God.
And in the fifth year ye shall eat of the fruit thereof that it may yield unto you the increase thereof. I AM your God.
26 ‘ You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying.
Ye shall not eat any thing with blood. Ye shall not be fortunetellers, nor diviners.
27 Y ou shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you disfigure the edges of your beard.
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
28 Y ou shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you. I am the LORD.
29 ‘ Do not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry, and the land become full of wickedness.
Do not contaminate thy daughter, causing her to commit fornication, lest the land be prostituted, and the land become full of wickedness.
30 ‘ You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the Lord.
¶ Ye shall keep my sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
31 ‘ Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.
Do not return unto spiritists or seek after diviners, to be defiled by them. I AM your God.
32 ‘ You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I am the Lord.
Thou shalt rise up before grey hair and honour the face of the elder and fear thy God. I am the LORD.
33 ‘ And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him.
And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not oppress him.
34 T he stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
But the stranger that dwells with you shall be as the natural of yourselves, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. I AM your God.
35 ‘ You shall do no injustice in judgment, in measurement of length, weight, or volume.
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measurement of land, in weight, or in other measure.
36 Y ou shall have honest scales, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin: I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin shall ye have. I AM your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
37 ‘ Therefore you shall observe all My statutes and all My judgments, and perform them: I am the Lord.’”
Keep, therefore, all my statutes and all my rights and do them. I am the LORD.
