1 L ord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.

¶ LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise up against me.

2 M any are they who say of me, “ There is no help for him in God.” Selah

There are many who say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

3 B ut You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory and the lifter up of my head.

4 I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah

¶ I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he answered me out of the mountain of his holiness. Selah.

5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked, for the LORD sustained me.

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about.

7 A rise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God, for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the jawbone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

8 S alvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah

Salvation belongs unto the LORD; thy blessing shall be upon thy people. Selah.
