1 T hen the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
2 “ Speak to Aaron and his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they do not profane My holy name by what they dedicate to Me: I am the Lord.
Speak unto Aaron and to his sons that they abstain from the holy things of the sons of Israel and that they not profane my holy name in those things which they sanctify unto me. I am the LORD.
3 S ay to them: ‘Whoever of all your descendants throughout your generations, who goes near the holy things which the children of Israel dedicate to the Lord, while he has uncleanness upon him, that person shall be cut off from My presence: I am the Lord.
Say unto them, Any man of all your seed among your generations that goes in unto the holy things, which the children of Israel sanctify unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence. I am the LORD.
4 ‘ Whatever man of the descendants of Aaron, who is a leper or has a discharge, shall not eat the holy offerings until he is clean. And whoever touches anything made unclean by a corpse, or a man who has had an emission of semen,
Whatever man of the seed of Aaron who is a leper or has a running issue shall not eat of the holy things until he is clean. And whosoever touches any thing that is unclean by the dead or a man whose seed has gone out from him
5 o r whoever touches any creeping thing by which he would be made unclean, or any person by whom he would become unclean, whatever his uncleanness may be—
or the man who has touched any reptile, by which he shall be unclean, or a man of whom he shall become unclean, according to whatever uncleanness he has,
6 t he person who has touched any such thing shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat the holy offerings unless he washes his body with water.
the person who has touched any such shall be unclean until evening and shall not eat of the holy things until he has washed his flesh with water.
7 A nd when the sun goes down he shall be clean; and afterward he may eat the holy offerings, because it is his food.
And when the sun is down, he shall be clean and shall afterward eat of the holy things, because it is his bread.
8 W hatever dies naturally or is torn by beasts he shall not eat, to defile himself with it: I am the Lord.
That which dies of itself or is torn by beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith. I am the LORD.
9 ‘ They shall therefore keep My ordinance, lest they bear sin for it and die thereby, if they profane it: I the Lord sanctify them.
They shall therefore keep my ordinance lest they bear sin for it and die therefore, if they profane it. I AM he who sanctifies them.
10 ‘ No outsider shall eat the holy offering; one who dwells with the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat the holy thing.
¶ No stranger shall eat of the holy thing; a guest of the priest or a hired servant shall not eat of the holy thing.
11 B ut if the priest buys a person with his money, he may eat it; and one who is born in his house may eat his food.
But when the priest shall buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house, they shall eat of his bread.
12 I f the priest’s daughter is married to an outsider, she may not eat of the holy offerings.
If the priest’s daughter becomes married unto a stranger, she may not eat of that which is set apart of the holy things.
13 B ut if the priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food; but no outsider shall eat it.
But if the priest’s daughter becomes a widow or divorced and has no child and is returned unto her father’s house as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s bread; but no stranger shall eat thereof.
14 ‘ And if a man eats the holy offering unintentionally, then he shall restore a holy offering to the priest, and add one-fifth to it.
And if a man eats of the holy thing by error, then he shall add the fifth part thereof unto it and shall give it unto the priest with the offering that he ate.
15 T hey shall not profane the holy offerings of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lord,
And they shall not profane the holy things of the sons of Israel, which they set apart unto the LORD,
16 o r allow them to bear the guilt of trespass when they eat their holy offerings; for I the Lord sanctify them.’” Offerings Accepted and Not Accepted
or suffer them to bear the iniquity of their guilt, when they eat their holy things. For I AM he who sanctifies them.
17 A nd the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
18 “ Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, who offers his sacrifice for any of his vows or for any of his freewill offerings, which they offer to the Lord as a burnt offering—
Speak unto Aaron and to his sons and unto all the sons of Israel and say unto them, Any man of the house of Israel or of the strangers in Israel that will offer his oblation for all his vows and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt offering,
19 y ou shall offer of your own free will a male without blemish from the cattle, from the sheep, or from the goats.
ye shall offer of your own free will a male without blemish of the bovine cattle of the sheep or of the goats.
20 W hatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it shall not be acceptable on your behalf.
But ye shall not offer any thing that has a blemish, for it shall not be acceptable for you.
21 A nd whoever offers a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lord, to fulfill his vow, or a freewill offering from the cattle or the sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it.
Likewise when anyone offers a sacrifice of peace unto the LORD to present his vow or a freewill offering in bovine cattle or sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.
22 T hose that are blind or broken or maimed, or have an ulcer or eczema or scabs, you shall not offer to the Lord, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to the Lord.
Blind or broken or maimed or having a running sore or scurvy or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor make an offering on fire of them upon the altar of the LORD.
23 E ither a bull or a lamb that has any limb too long or too short you may offer as a freewill offering, but for a vow it shall not be accepted.
A bullock or a lamb that has any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, thou may offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.
24 ‘ You shall not offer to the Lord what is bruised or crushed, or torn or cut; nor shall you make any offering of them in your land.
Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is bruised or crushed or broken or cut; neither shall ye do thus in all your land.
25 N or from a foreigner’s hand shall you offer any of these as the bread of your God, because their corruption is in them, and defects are in them. They shall not be accepted on your behalf.’”
Neither from the son of a stranger’s hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these because their corruption is in them and blemishes are in them; they shall not be accepted for you.
26 A nd the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
27 “ When a bull or a sheep or a goat is born, it shall be seven days with its mother; and from the eighth day and thereafter it shall be accepted as an offering made by fire to the Lord.
When a bullock or a sheep or a goat is born, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering on fire unto the LORD.
28 W hether it is a cow or ewe, do not kill both her and her young on the same day.
And whether it is cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day.
29 A nd when you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, offer it of your own free will.
And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it of your own free will.
30 O n the same day it shall be eaten; you shall leave none of it until morning: I am the Lord.
On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the morrow. I am the LORD.
31 “ Therefore you shall keep My commandments, and perform them: I am the Lord.
Keep, therefore, my commandments and do them. I am the LORD.
32 Y ou shall not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel. I am the Lord who sanctifies you,
Profane ye not my holy name, and I will sanctify myself in the midst of the sons of Israel. I AM he who sanctifies you
33 w ho brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.”
and who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.
