1 N ow when morning was come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

А на сутринта всички главни свещеници и народни старейшини се съвещаваха против Исус, за да Го предадат на смърт.

2 a nd they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him up to Pilate the governor.

И като Го вързаха, заведоха Го и Го предадоха на управителя Пилат.

3 T hen Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

Тогава Юда, който Го беше предал, като видя, че Исус бе осъден, разкая се и върна тридесетте сребърника на главните свещеници и старейшините, и каза:

4 s aying, I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood. But they said, What is that to us? see thou to it.

Съгреших, че предадох невинна кръв. А те казаха: Нас какво ни засяга това? Ти му мисли.

5 A nd he cast down the pieces of silver into the sanctuary, and departed; and he went away and hanged himself.

И като хвърли сребърниците в храма, излезе и отиде, и се обеси.

6 A nd the chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.

А главните свещеници взеха сребърниците и казаха: Не е позволено да ги слагаме в храмовата каса, понеже са цена на кръв.

7 A nd they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

И като се съветваха, купиха с тях Нивата на грънчаря за погребване на чужденци.

8 W herefore that field was called, the field of blood, unto this day.

Затова онази нива се нарича и днес Кръвна нива.

9 T hen was fulfilled that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was priced, whom certain of the children of Israel did price;

Тогава се изпълни изреченото чрез пророк Йеремия, който казва: "И взеха тридесетте сребърника, цената, определена за Него от израелтяните,

10 a nd they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

и ги дадоха за Нивата на грънчаря, както ми заповяда Господ."

11 N ow Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

А Исус застана пред управителя; и управителят Го попита: Ти Юдейският Цар ли си? А Исус му отвърна: Ти казваш.

12 A nd when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

И когато Го обвиняваха главните свещеници и старейшините, нищо не отговаряше.

13 T hen saith Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

Тогава Пилат Му каза: Не чуваш ли за колко неща свидетелстват против Тебе?

14 A nd he gave him no answer, not even to one word: insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

Но Той не му отговори нито на едно обвинение, така че управителят много се чудеше.

15 N ow at the feast the governor was wont to release unto the multitude one prisoner, whom they would.

А на всеки празник управителят имаше обичай да пуска на народа един от затворниците, когото биха поискали.

16 A nd they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

А тогава имаха един прословут затворник на име Варава.

17 W hen therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?

И така, като бяха събрани, Пилат им каза: Кого искате да ви пусна - Варава ли или Исус, наречен Христос?

18 F or he knew that for envy they had delivered him up.

Понеже знаеше, че от завист Го предаваха.

19 A nd while he was sitting on the judgment-seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that righteous man; for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

При това, като седеше на съдийския престол, жена му изпрати до него да кажат: Не прави нищо на Този праведник; защото днес много пострадах насън поради Него.

20 N ow the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

А главните свещеници и старейшините убедиха народа да изпроси Варава, а Исус да предаде на смърт.

21 B ut the governor answered and said unto them, Which of the two will ye that I release unto you? And they said, Barabbas.

Управителят ги попита: Кого от двамата искате да ви пусна? А те казаха: Варава.

22 P ilate saith unto them, What then shall I do unto Jesus who is called Christ? They all say, Let him be crucified.

Пилат им каза: Тогава какво да правя с Исус, наречен Христос? Те всички извикаха: Нека бъде разпънат!

23 A nd he said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out exceedingly, saying, Let him be crucified.

А той каза: Че какво зло е сторил? А те още по-силно закрещяха: Разпъни Го!

24 S o when Pilate saw that he prevailed nothing, but rather that a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; see ye to it.

И така Пилат, като видя, че никак не помага, а, напротив, че се повдига размирие, взе вода, уми си ръцете пред множеството и каза: Аз съм невинен за кръвта на Този праведник; вие му мислете.

25 A nd all the people answered and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

А целият народ отговори: Кръвта Му да бъде върху нас и върху децата ни.

26 T hen released he unto them Barabbas; but Jesus he scourged and delivered to be crucified.

Тогава им пусна Варава; а Исус бичува и Го предаде на разпятие. Издевателството на войниците

27 T hen the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered unto him the whole band.

Тогава войниците на управителя заведоха Исус в преторията и събраха около Него цялата рота.

28 A nd they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

И като Го съблякоха, облякоха Го в червена мантия.

29 A nd they platted a crown of thorns and put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!

Сплетоха венец от тръни и го наложиха на главата Му, и сложиха тръстикова пръчка в дясната Му ръка; и като коленичеха пред Него, подиграваха Му се, като казваха: Здравей, Царю Юдейски!

30 A nd they spat upon him, and took the reed and smote him on the head.

И Го заплюваха, взеха тръстиковата пръчка и Го удряха по главата.

31 A nd when they had mocked him, they took off from him the robe, and put on him his garments, and led him away to crucify him.

И след като се подиграха с Него, съблякоха Му мантията и Го облякоха с Неговите дрехи, и Го заведоха да Го разпънат. Разпъването и кръстната смърт на Исус Христос

32 A nd as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to go with them, that he might bear his cross.

А на излизане намериха един киринеец, на име Симон; него заставиха да носи кръста Му.

33 A nd they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, The place of a skull,

И като стигнаха до едно място, наречено Голгота, което значи Лобно място,

34 t hey gave him wine to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted it, he would not drink.

дадоха Му да пие вино, размесено с жлъчка; но Той, като вкуси, не прие да пие.

35 A nd when they had crucified him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots;

И когато Го разпънаха, разделиха си дрехите Му, като хвърлиха жребий.

36 a nd they sat and watched him there.

И седяха там да Го пазят.

37 A nd they set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

И поставиха над главата Му надпис с обвинението Му, който гласеше: Този е Исус, Юдейският Цар.

38 T hen are there crucified with him two robbers, one on the right hand and one on the left.

Заедно с Него бяха разпънати двама разбойници, един отдясно и един отляво.

39 A nd they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads,

А минаващите оттам Му се подиграваха, като клатеха глави и казваха:

40 a nd saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.

Ти, Който разрушаваш храма и за три дни пак го съграждаш, спаси Себе Си. Ако си Божий Син, слез от кръста.

41 I n like manner also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

Също и главните свещеници с книжниците и старейшините Го подиграваха, като казваха:

42 H e saved others; himself he cannot save. He is the King of Israel; let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on him.

Други е избавил, а пък Себе Си не може да избави! Той е Израелевият Цар! Нека слезе сега от кръста и ще повярваме в Него.

43 H e trusteth on God; let him deliver him now, if he desireth him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

Упова на Бога; нека Го избави сега, ако Му е угоден; понеже каза: Божий Син съм.

44 A nd the robbers also that were crucified with him cast upon him the same reproach.

По същия начин Го ругаеха и разпънатите с Него разбойници.

45 N ow from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

А от шестия час до деветия час тъмнина покриваше цялата земя.

46 A nd about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

А около деветия час Исус извика със силен глас: Ели, Ели, лама савахтани?, т. е.: Боже Мой, Боже Мой, защо си Ме оставил?

47 A nd some of them stood there, when they heard it, said, This man calleth Elijah.

Някои от стоящите там, като чуха, казаха: Той вика Илия.

48 A nd straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

И веднага един от тях се завтече, взе гъба, натопи я в оцет и като я надяна на тръстикова пръчка, даде Му да пие.

49 A nd the rest said, Let be; let us see whether Elijah cometh to save him.

А другите казаха: Остави! Да видим дали ще дойде Илия да Го избави.

50 A nd Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.

А Исус, като извика пак със силен глас, издъхна.

51 A nd behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake; and the rocks were rent;

И, ето, завесата на храма се раздра на две отгоре додолу, земята се разтресе, скалите се разпукаха,

52 a nd the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints that had fallen asleep were raised;

гробовете се разтвориха и много тела на починали светии бяха възкресени,

53 a nd coming forth out of the tombs after his resurrection they entered into the holy city and appeared unto many.

които, като излязоха от гробовете след Неговото възкресение, влязоха в святия град и се явиха на мнозина.

54 N ow the centurion, and they that were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

А стотникът и онези, които заедно с него пазеха Исус, като видяха земетресението и всичко, което стана, много се уплашиха и казаха: Наистина този беше Син на Бога.

55 A nd many women were there beholding from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

Там бяха още и гледаха отдалеч много жени, които бяха следвали Исус от Галилея и Му служеха;

56 a mong whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

сред тях бяха Мария Магдалена и Мария, майка на Яков и на Йосия, и майката на Зеведеевите синове.

57 A nd when even was come, there came a rich man from Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

И когато се свечери, дойде един богаташ от Ариматея на име Йосиф, който също се беше учил при Исус.

58 t his man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded it to be given up.

Той дойде при Пилат и поиска тялото на Исус. Тогава Пилат заповяда да му се даде.

59 A nd Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

Йосиф, като взе тялото, обви го с чиста плащеница

60 a nd laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.

и го положи в своя нов гроб, който беше изсякъл в скалата; и като привали голям камък на гробната врата, си отиде.

61 A nd Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

А там бяха Мария Магдалена и другата Мария, които седяха срещу гроба.

62 N ow on the morrow, which is the day after the Preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together unto Pilate,

И на следващия ден, който беше след деня на Приготовлението за празника, главните свещеници и фарисеите се събраха при Пилат и казаха:

63 s aying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was yet alive, After three days I rise again.

Господарю, спомнихме си, че Онзи измамник приживе каза: След три дни ще възкръсна.

64 C ommand therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest haply his disciples come and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: and the last error will be worse than the first.

Затова заповядай гробът да се пази здраво до третия ден, да не би учениците Му да дойдат и да Го откраднат, и да кажат на народа: Възкръсна от мъртвите. Така последната измама ще бъде по-лоша от първата.

65 P ilate said unto them, Ye have a guard: go, make it as sure as ye can.

Пилат им каза: Вземете стража; идете, пазете Го, както знаете.

66 S o they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, the guard being with them.

А те отидоха и завардиха гроба, и заедно със стражата запечатаха камъка.
