1 A nd it came to pass, when all the nation were clean passed over the Jordan, that Jehovah spake unto Joshua, saying,

А когато целият народ беше преминал Йордан, Господ каза на Исус:

2 T ake you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

Изберете дванадесет човека от народа, по един човек от всяко племе,

3 a nd command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of the Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and carry them over with you, and lay them down in the lodging-place, where ye shall lodge this night.

и им заповядайте: Вземете дванадесет камъка оттук, отсред Йордан, от мястото, където краката на свещениците стояха твърдо. Занесете ги със себе си и ги сложете на мястото, където ще пренощувате тази нощ.

4 T hen Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:

Тогава Исус повика дванадесетте човека, по един от всяко племе, които беше избрал от израелтяните.

5 a nd Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of Jehovah your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel;

И Исус им каза: Минете пред ковчега на Господа, вашия Бог, сред Йордан и вдигнете всеки по един камък на рамената си според броя на племената на израелтяните,

6 t hat this may be a sign among you, that, when your children ask in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?

за да бъде това знак между вас. Утре, когато синовете ви попитат: Какво означават тези камъни?,

7 t hen ye shall say unto them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah; when it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

тогава ще им отговорите: Те напомнят, че водата на Йордан се раздели пред ковчега на Господния завет. Когато ковчегът преминаваше Йордан, водата на Йордан се раздели. Тези камъни ще бъдат за спомен до века на израелтяните.

8 A nd the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, as Jehovah spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel; and they carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

Тогава израелтяните направиха така, както заповяда Исус; взеха дванадесет камъка от Йордан, както Господ беше казал на Исус, според броя на племената на израелтяните; и ги донесоха със себе си на мястото, където пренощуваха, и ги положиха там.

9 A nd Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests that bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.

Исус също постави дванадесет камъка сред Йордан, на мястото, където стояха краката на свещениците, които носеха ковчега на завета; и тези камъни са там до днес.

10 F or the priests that bare the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan, until everything was finished that Jehovah commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.

А свещениците, които носеха ковчега, стояха сред Йордан, докато беше изпълнено всичко, което Господ заповяда на Исус да говори на народа - така, както Моисей беше заповядал на Исус. И народът побърза да премине реката.

11 A nd it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of Jehovah passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.

А когато целият народ беше преминал, минаха и Господният ковчег и свещениците и те застанаха пред народа.

12 A nd the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them:

И Рувимовите синове, Гадовите синове и половината от Манасиевото племе преминаха въоръжени пред израелтяните, както Моисей им беше казал;

13 a bout forty thousand ready armed for war passed over before Jehovah unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

около четиридесет хиляди въоръжени воини, готови за бой, преминаха пред Господа към йерихонските полета.

14 O n that day Jehovah magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

В онзи ден Господ прослави Исус пред очите на целия Израел; и те се бояха от него, както се бояха от Моисей, през всичките дни на живота му.

15 A nd Jehovah spake unto Joshua, saying,

Тогава Господ говорѝ на Исус:

16 C ommand the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of the Jordan.

Заповядай на свещениците, които носят ковчега на свидетелството, да излязат от Йордан.

17 J oshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come ye up out of the Jordan.

И така, Исус заповяда на свещениците: Излезте от Йордан.

18 A nd it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of Jehovah were come up out of the midst of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up unto the dry ground, that the waters of the Jordan returned unto their place, and went over all its banks, as aforetime.

А щом свещениците, които носеха ковчега на Господния завет, излязоха от Йордан и краката им стъпиха на сухо, водата на Йордан се върна на мястото си и преля всичките му брегове, както преди това.

19 A nd the people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, on the east border of Jericho.

На десетия ден от първия месец народът излезе от Йордан и разположиха стан в Галгал на изток от Йерихон.

20 A nd those twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, did Joshua set up in Gilgal.

А Исус постави в Галгал онези дванадесет камъка, които взеха от Йордан.

21 A nd he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones?

Тогава Исус говорѝ на израелтяните: Утре, когато синовете ви попитат: Какво означават тези камъни?,

22 T hen ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.

тогава да разкажете на синовете си: Израел премина Йордан по сухо.

23 F or Jehovah your God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as Jehovah your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were passed over;

защото Господ, вашият Бог, пресуши Йорданската вода пред вас, докато преминахте, както Господ, вашият Бог, стори с Червеното море, което пресуши пред нас, докато преминахме,

24 t hat all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of Jehovah, that it is mighty; that ye may fear Jehovah your God for ever.

за да знаят всичките народи на земята, че Господнята ръка е мощна, и да се боят винаги от Господа, вашия Бог.
