1 A nd Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.

А като се връщаше Юдейският цар Йосафат с мир у дома си в Йерусалим,

2 A nd Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the wicked, and love them that hate Jehovah? for this thing wrath is upon thee from before Jehovah.

ясновидецът Ииуй, Ананиевият син, излезе да го посрещне и каза на цар Йосафат: На нечестивия ли помагаш и тези ли, които мразят Господа, обичаш? Затова гняв от Господа има върху тебе.

3 N evertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast put away the Asheroth out of the land, and hast set thy heart to seek God.

Все пак обаче в тебе се намериха добри неща, защото ти премахна ашерите от земята и утвърди сърцето си да търсиш Бога.

4 A nd Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again among the people from Beer-sheba to the hill-country of Ephraim, and brought them back unto Jehovah, the God of their fathers.

След като Йосафат се засели в Йерусалим, после излезе пак между народа от Вирсавее до Ефремовата хълмиста земя и ги обърна към Господа, Бога на бащите им.

5 A nd he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,

И по всички укрепени градове на Юдея постави съдии в земята, град по град.

6 a nd said to the judges, Consider what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for Jehovah; and he is with you in the judgment.

Той каза на съдиите: Внимавайте какво правите; защото не съдите за човека, а за Господа, Който е с вас в съдопроизнасянето.

7 N ow therefore let the fear of Jehovah be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with Jehovah our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes.

Затова нека върху вас бъде страх от Господа; внимавайте в делата си; защото в Господа, нашия Бог, няма неправда, нито лицеприятие, нито подкупност.

8 M oreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites and the priests, and of the heads of the fathers' houses of Israel, for the judgment of Jehovah, and for controversies. And they returned to Jerusalem.

Тогава, като се върнаха в Йерусалим, Йосафат постави и в Йерусалим някои от левитите и свещениците и от началниците на Израелевите бащини домове за Господния съд и за спорове.

9 A nd he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of Jehovah, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

И им заръча: Така да постъпвате със страх от Господа, вярно и със съвършено сърце.

10 A nd whensoever any controversy shall come to you from your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, ye shall warn them, that they be not guilty towards Jehovah, and so wrath come upon you and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not be guilty.

И ако дойде при вас от братята ви, които живеят в градовете си, какъвто и да бил спор между кръв и кръв, между закон и заповед, между наредби и узаконения, увещавайте ги да не стават виновни пред Господа, да не би да дойде гняв върху вас и върху братята ви. Така постъпвайте и няма да станете виновни.

11 A nd, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of Jehovah; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and Jehovah be with the good.

Първосвещеникът Амария ще бъде над вас във всяко Господне дело; началникът на Юдовия дом Зевадия, Исмаиловият син, ще бъде във всяко царско дело; а левитите ще бъдат надзиратели пред вас. Действайте мъжествено и Господ ще бъде с добрия.
