1 A fter these things I saw another angel coming down out of heaven, having great authority; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

След това видях друг ангел, който слизаше от небето и имаше голяма власт; и земята бе осветена от неговата слава.

2 A nd he cried with a mighty voice, saying, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and is become a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird.

Той извика със силен глас: Падна, падна великият Вавилон и стана жилище на бесовете, свърталище на всякакъв нечист дух и свърталище на всякаква нечиста и омразна птица;

3 F or by the wine of the wrath of her fornication all the nations are fallen; and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth waxed rich by the power of her wantonness.

защото всички народи пиха от виното на нейното разпалено блудстване и земните царе блудстваха с нея, земните търговци се обогатиха от безмерния ѝ разкош.

4 A nd I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth, my people, out of her, that ye have no fellowship with her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues:

И чух друг глас от небето, който казваше: Излез от нея, народе Мой, за да не участваш в греховете ѝ и да не споделяш язвите ѝ;

5 f or her sins have reached even unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

защото греховете ѝ стигнаха чак до небето и Бог си спомни нейните неправди.

6 R ender unto her even as she rendered, and double unto her the double according to her works: in the cup which she mingled, mingle unto her double.

Въздайте ѝ, както и тя е въздала. Да! Платете ѝ двойно според делата ѝ; с чашата, с която е черпила, почерпете я двойно.

7 H ow much soever she glorified herself, and waxed wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall in no wise see mourning.

Колкото е прославила себе си и е живяла разкошно, толкова мъки и печал ѝ дайте; защото казва в сърцето си: Седя като царица, не съм вдовица и печал никога няма да видя.

8 T herefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is the Lord God who judged her.

Затова в един ден ще дойдат напастите ѝ мор, печал и глад и тя ще изгори в огън; защото могъщ е Господ Бог, Който я съди. Оплакване на великия Вавилон

9 A nd the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and lived wantonly with her, shall weep and wail over her, when they look upon the smoke of her burning,

И земните царе, които са блудствали и живели разкошно с нея, ще заплачат и заридаят за нея, когато видят дима от изгарянето ѝ.

10 s tanding afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

Отдалеч ще стоят поради страх от мъките ѝ и ще казват: Горко, горко на тебе, велики граде Вавилоне, могъщи граде, понеже в един час дойде присъдата ти!

11 A nd the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no man buyeth their merchandise any more;

И земните търговци ще плачат и жалят за нея, защото никой вече не купува стоките им,

12 m erchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stone, and pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet; and all thyine wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;

стоки от злато и сребро, скъпоценни камъни и бисери, от висон и пурпур, коприна и червен плат; и всякакво благоуханно дърво и всякакви изделия от слонова кост; и всякакви изделия от скъпоценно дърво и от мед, от желязо и от мрамор;

13 a nd cinnamon, and spice, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep; and merchandise of horses and chariots and slaves; and souls of men.

и канела, аромати, тамян, миро и ливан; вино и елей; чисто брашно и пшеница; добитък и овце; коне, колесници и роби; и човешки души.

14 A nd the fruits which thy soul lusted after are gone from thee, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous are perished from thee, and men shall find them no more at all.

Плодовете, за които душата ти копнееше, изчезнаха от теб и всичко изящно и разкошно загина от теб, и няма вече да ги намериш.

15 T he merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;

Търгуващите с тези неща, които се обогатиха от нея, ще застанат надалеч поради страх от мъките ѝ, ще плачат и ще жалят, като казват:

16 s aying, Woe, woe, the great city, she that was arrayed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stone and pearl!

Горко, горко, велики граде, облечен във висон, пурпур и червен плат и украсен със злато, със скъпоценни камъни и с бисери;

17 f or in an hour so great riches is made desolate. And every shipmaster, and every one that saileth any wither, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood afar off,

защото в един час запустя толкова богатство! И всеки морски капитан, всеки пътник по море, моряците и всички, които се препитават от морето, застанаха отдалеч

18 a nd cried out as they looked upon the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like the great city?

и викаха, като гледаха дима от неговото изгаряне: Кой град приличаше на великия град?

19 A nd they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, wherein all that had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

И посипаха пръст на главите си и викаха с плач и жалеене, като казваха: Горко, горко на великия град, в който всички, които имаха кораби по морето, се обогатиха от скъпоценностите му; защото в един час запустя!

20 R ejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye saints, and ye apostles, and ye prophets; for God hath judged your judgment on her.

Веселете се за него, небеса, и вие, светии, вие, апостоли и пророци, защото присъдата, с която вие бяхте осъдени, Бог отсъди над него.

21 A nd a strong angel took up a stone as it were a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with a mighty fall shall Babylon, the great city, be cast down, and shall be found no more at all.

И един силен ангел взе камък, голям като воденичен, и го хвърли в морето, и каза: С такъв устрем ще бъде сринат Вавилон, великият град, и вече няма да се намери.

22 A nd the voice of harpers and minstrels and flute-players and trumpeters shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft, shall be found any more at all in thee; and the voice of a mill shall be heard no more at all in thee;

Глас от онези, които свирят на арфи, и от певци, от свирачи и от тръбачи няма вече да се чува в теб; и никакъв художник от каквото и да било изкуство няма вече да има в теб; и шум от воденица няма вече да се чува в тебе;

23 a nd the light of a lamp shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the princes of the earth; for with thy sorcery were all the nations deceived.

светлина от светило няма вече да свети в теб; и глас от младоженец и от невеста няма вече да се чува в тебе; защото твоите търговци бяха големците на земята, понеже чрез твоите магии бяха измамени всички народи.

24 A nd in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all that have been slain upon the earth.

И в него бе открита пролятата кръв от пророци и светии и от всички заклани на земята.
