1 T hen drew near the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.

Тогава дойдоха дъщерите на Салпаад, Еферовия син, а Ефер, син на Галаад, син на Махир, син на Манасия, от семействата на Манасия, Йосифовия син. А ето имената на дъщерите му: Маала, Нуа, Егла, Мелха и Терса.

2 A nd they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, at the door of the tent of meeting, saying,

Те застанаха пред Моисей, пред свещеника Елеазар и пред първенците и цялото общество, при входа на шатъра за срещане, и казаха:

3 O ur father died in the wilderness, and he was not among the company of them that gathered themselves together against Jehovah in the company of Korah: but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons.

Баща ни умря в пустинята; той не беше от дружината на онези, които се събраха против Господа в Кореевата дружина, а умря поради собствения си грях; и нямаше синове.

4 W hy should the name of our father be taken away from among his family, because he had no son? Give unto us a possession among the brethren of our father.

Защо да изчезне името на баща ни от семейството му по причина, че не е имал син? Дай на нас наследство между братята на баща ни.

5 A nd Moses brought their cause before Jehovah.

И Моисей представи делото им пред Господа.

6 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

Тогава Господ говорѝ на Моисей:

7 T he daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.

Право говорят Салпаадовите дъщери; непременно да им дадеш да притежават наследство между братята на баща си и да направиш да мине върху тях наследството на баща им.

8 A nd thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.

И кажѝ на израелтяните: Ако някой умре, без да има син, тогава да прехвърлите наследството му върху дъщеря му.

9 A nd if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren.

Ако няма дъщеря, тогава да дадете наследството му на братята му.

10 A nd if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father's brethren.

А ако няма братя, тогава да дадете наследството му на бащините му братя.

11 A nd if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute and ordinance, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

Но ако баща му няма братя, тогава да дадете наследството му на най-близкия му сродник от семейството му и той да го притежава. Това да бъде съдебен закон за израелтяните, както Господ заповяда на Моисей. Моисей определя Исус Навин за свой заместник

12 A nd Jehovah said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mountain of Abarim, and behold the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.

След това Господ каза на Моисей: Изкачи се на тази планина Аварим и огледай земята, която съм дал на израелтяните;

13 A nd when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered;

и като я огледаш, ще се прибереш и ти при народа си, както се прибра брат ти Аарон;

14 b ecause ye rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the waters before their eyes. (These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

защото в пустинята Цин, когато обществото се противеше, вие не се покорихте на повелението Ми да Ме осветите при водата пред тях. (Това е водата на Мерива при Кадис в пустинята Цин.)

15 A nd Moses spake unto Jehovah, saying,

А Моисей говорѝ на Господа:

16 L et Jehovah, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation,

Господ, Бог на духовете на всяка твар, нека постави над обществото човек,

17 w ho may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in; that the congregation of Jehovah be not as sheep which have no shepherd.

който да излиза пред тях и който да влиза пред тях, който да ги извежда и който да ги въвежда, за да не бъде Господнето общество като овце, които нямат пастир.

18 A nd Jehovah said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay thy hand upon him;

Тогава Господ каза на Моисей: Вземи при себе си Исус, Навиновия син - човек, в когото е Духът, и положи на него ръката си;

19 a nd set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.

и като го представиш пред свещеника Елеазар и пред цялото общество, дай му поръчка пред тях.

20 A nd thou shalt put of thine honor upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may obey.

И възложи на него част от твоята почетна власт, за да го слуша цялото общество израелтяни.

21 A nd he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before Jehovah: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.

Той да стои пред свещеника Елеазар, който ще се допитва до Господа за него според съда на Урим; и по неговата дума да излизат, и по неговата дума да влизат, той и всички израелтяни с него, и цялото общество.

22 A nd Moses did as Jehovah commanded him; and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:

Моисей направи, както му заповяда Господ; взе Исус и го представи пред свещеника Елеазар и пред цялото общество;

23 a nd he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as Jehovah spake by Moses.

и като положи ръцете си на него, даде му поръчка, както Господ заповяда чрез Моисей.
