1 I n the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any one to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

В тридесет и шестата година от царуването на Аса Израелевият цар Ваас, като излезе против Юдея, съгради Рама, за да не оставя никого да излиза от Юдейския цар Аса, нито да влиза при него.

2 T hen Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of Jehovah and of the king's house, and sent to Ben-hadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

Тогава Аса извади сребро и злато от съкровищата на Господния дом и на царската къща и прати при сирийския цар Венадад, който живееше в Дамаск, да кажат:

3 T here is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

Нека има договор между мене и тебе, както е имало между баща ми и твоя баща; ето, пратих ти сребро и злато; иди, развали договора си с Израелевия цар Ваас, за да се оттегли от мен.

4 A nd Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-maim, and all the store-cities of Naphtali.

И Венадад послуша цар Аса и прати началниците на силите си против Израелевите градове; и те поразиха Иион, Дан, Авел-маим и всички Нефталимови житници-градове.

5 A nd it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building Ramah, and let his work cease.

А Ваас, като чу това, престана да гради Рама и преустанови работата си.

6 T hen Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.

Тогава цар Аса събра цяла Юдея и вдигна камъните на Рама и дърветата ѝ, с които Ваас градеше; и с тях съгради Гава и Масфа.

7 A nd at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and hast not relied on Jehovah thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thy hand.

А в това време ясновидецът Ананий отиде при Юдейския цар Аса и му каза: Понеже си се уповал на сирийския цар, а не си се уповал на Господа, своя Бог, затова войската на сирийския цар се спаси от ръката ти.

8 W ere not the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge host, with chariots and horsemen exceeding many? yet, because thou didst rely on Jehovah, he delivered them into thy hand.

Етиопците и ливийците не бяха ли огромно множество, с твърде много колесници и конници? Но пак, понеже ти се упова на Господа, Той ги предаде в ръката ти.

9 F or the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly; for from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Защото очите на Господа се обръщат насам-натам през целия свят, за да се показва Той мощен в помощ на онези, чиито сърца са съвършено разположени към Него. В това ти си постъпил безумно, затова отсега нататък ще те сполетят войни.

10 T hen Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in the prison-house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.

При това Аса се разгневи на ясновидеца и го хвърли в затвор, защото се разсърди против него за думите му. И в същото време Аса притесни някои от народа.

11 A nd, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

И ето, делата на Аса, първите и последните, са записани в Книгата на Юдейските и Израелевите царе.

12 A nd in the thirty and ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet; his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to Jehovah, but to the physicians.

А в тридесет и деветата година от царуването си Аса се разболя от болест в краката; обаче макар болестта му да ставаше много тежка, пак в болестта си той не потърси Господа, а лекарите.

13 A nd Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.

И Аса заспа с бащите си; той умря в четиридесет и първата година от царуването си.

14 A nd they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had hewn out for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and divers kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers' art: and they made a very great burning for him.

Погребаха го в гроба, който си беше изкопал в Давидовия град, и го положиха на легло, пълно с благоухания и с различни аптекарски аромати; и изгориха за него твърде много аромати.
