1 N ow there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear Jehovah: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two children to be bondmen.

А една от жените на пророческите ученици извика към Елисей: Слугата ти, мъжът ми, умря. Ти знаеш, че той се боеше от Господа; а заемодавецът дойде да вземе за себе си двамата ми сина за роби.

2 A nd Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me; what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thy handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil.

Елисей я попита: Какво да направя за тебе? Кажи ми какво имаш вкъщи? А тя отговори: Слугинята ти няма нищо вкъщи освен един съд с дървено масло.

3 T hen he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

Елисей каза: Иди, вземи на заем от всичките си съседи много празни съдове.

4 A nd thou shalt go in, and shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and pour out into all those vessels; and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

После влез, затвори вратата зад себе си и синовете си и наливай от маслото във всички тези съдове; пълните слагай настрана.

5 S o she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons; they brought the vessels to her, and she poured out.

И така, тя си отиде от него и затвори вратата зад себе си и синовете си; и те донасяха съдовете при нея, а тя наливаше.

6 A nd it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

След като съдовете се напълниха, жената каза на един от синовете си: Донеси ми още един съд. А той ѝ отговори: Няма друг съд. И маслото престана.

7 T hen she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy sons of the rest.

Тогава тя дойде и извести на Божия човек. А той ѝ каза: Иди, продай маслото и плати дълга си, и живей с останалото, ти и синовете ти. Елисей възкресява сина на сунамката

8 A nd it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

Един ден Елисей замина в Сунам, където имаше една богата жена; и тя го задържа да яде хляб. И колкото пъти минаваше, се отбиваше там, за да яде хляб.

9 A nd she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, that passeth by us continually.

После жената каза на мъжа си: Ето сега, знам, че този, който постоянно наминава у нас, е свят Божий човек.

10 L et us make, I pray thee, a little chamber on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a seat, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

Да направим, моля те, една малка стаичка над стената и да сложим в нея за него легло, маса, стол и светилник, за да се отбива там, когато идва при нас.

11 A nd it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber and lay there.

И един ден, когато Елисей дойде там, отби се в стаичката и лежеше в нея,

12 A nd he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

каза на слугата си Гиезий: Повикай тази сунамка. И той я повика и тя застана пред него.

13 A nd he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

Елисей нареди на Гиезий: Кажи ѝ сега: Ето, ти си положила всички тези грижи за нас; какво да направим за тебе? Желаеш ли да говорим за тебе на царя или на военачалника? А тя отговори: Не, аз живея между своя народ.

14 A nd he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no son, and her husband is old.

Тогава Елисей попита: И така, какво да направим за нея? А Гиезий отговори: Тя няма син, а мъжът ѝ е стар.

15 A nd he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

Пророкът каза: Повикай я. И когато я повика, тя застана пред вратата.

16 A nd he said, At this season, when the time cometh round, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thy handmaid.

Елисей ѝ каза: Догодина по това време ще имаш син в обятията си. А тя отговори: Не, господарю мой, Божий човече, не лъжи слугинята си.

17 A nd the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season, when the time came round, as Elisha had said unto her.

Но жената зачена и роди син на другата година по същото време, както ѝ каза Елисей.

18 A nd when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

И когато детето порасна, излезе един ден при баща си и жътварите.

19 A nd he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to his servant, Carry him to his mother.

То каза на баща си: Главата ми! Главата ми! А бащата нареди на един от момците: Занеси го при майка му.

20 A nd when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

Той го взе и го занесе при майка му; детето седя на коленете ѝ до пладне и тогава умря.

21 A nd she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

А тя се качи и го положи на леглото на Божия човек, и като затвори вратата след него, излезе.

22 A nd she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the servants, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

Тогава повика мъжа си и каза: Изпрати, моля, един от момците и една от ослиците, за да побързам да отида при Божия човек и да се върна.

23 A nd he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to-day? it is neither new moon nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

А той отвърна: Защо отиваш при него днес? Не е нито нов месец, нито събота. А тя каза: Бъди спокоен.

24 T hen she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slacken me not the riding, except I bid thee.

Тогава оседла ослицата и каза на слугата си: Карай и бързай; не забавяй карането заради мен, освен ако ти заповядам.

25 S o she went, and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is the Shunammite:

И така, жената отиде при Божия човек на планината Кармил. А Божият човек, като я видя отдалеч, каза на слугата си Гиезий: Ето там сунамката!

26 r un, I pray thee, now to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.

Сега тичай да я посрещнеш и ѝ кажи: Добре ли си? Добре ли е мъжът ти? Добре ли е детето? А тя отговори: Добре.

27 A nd when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. And Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, Let her alone: for her soul is vexed within her; and Jehovah hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

А когато дойде при Божия човек на планината, тя се хвана за краката му; а Гиезий се приближи, за да я отблъсне. Но Божият човек каза: Остави я, защото душата ѝ е преогорчена, а Господ е скрил причината от мен и не ми я е явил.

28 T hen she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

Тя попита: Искала ли съм син от господаря си? Не казах ли: Не ме лъжи?

29 T hen he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thy hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

Тогава Елисей каза на Гиезий: Препаши кръста си, вземи тоягата ми в ръка и иди. Ако срещнеш човек, да не го поздравиш, ако те поздрави някой, да не му отговориш; и положи тоягата ми върху лицето на детето.

30 A nd the mother of the child said, As Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

А майката на детето каза: Заклевам се в живота на Господа и в живота на душата ти, че няма да те оставя. И така, той стана и отиде след нея.

31 A nd Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he returned to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

А Гиезий мина пред тях и положи тоягата върху лицето на детето; но то нямаше нито глас, нито слух. Затова слугата се върна да посрещне Елисей и му извести: Детето не се събуди.

32 A nd when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.

И когато Елисей влезе в къщата, детето лежеше умряло, положено на леглото му.

33 H e went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto Jehovah.

Пророкът влезе, затвори вратата зад тях двамата и се помоли на Господа.

34 A nd he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon him; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

Тогава той се качи и легна върху детето, и като сложи устата си върху неговите уста, очите си върху неговите очи и ръцете си върху неговите ръце, се простря върху него; и тялото на детето се стопли.

35 T hen he returned, and walked in the house once to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

После Елисей се оттегли и ходеше насам-натам из къщата. След това пак се качи и се простря върху него; тогава детето кихна седем пъти и отвори очите си.

36 A nd he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

Елисей извика Гиезий и каза: Повикай сунамката. И той я повика. Когато жената влезе при Елисей, той ѝ каза: Вземи сина си.

37 T hen she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground; and she took up her son, and went out.

И тя падна в краката му и се поклони до земята, вдигна сина си и излезе. Елисей извършва още две чудеса

38 A nd Elisha came again to Gilgal. And there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and boil pottage for the sons of the prophets.

Елисей пак дойде в Галгал, когато имаше глад в земята. Пред него седяха пророческите ученици и го слушаха, а той каза на слугата си: Сложи големия котел и свари вариво за пророческите ученици.

39 A nd one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage; for they knew them not.

Затова един от тях излезе на полето, за да набере зеленище, и като намери диво растение, набра от него диви тиквички и напълни дрехата си. После се върна и ги наряза в котела с варивото, понеже не знаеше, че са отровни.

40 S o they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

После сипаха на хората да ядат, а като ядоха от варивото, извикаха: Божий човече, смърт има в котела! И не можеха да ядат повече от него.

41 B ut he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

А пророкът нареди: Тогава донесете брашно. И като го хвърли в котела, каза: Сипи на народа да яде. И в котела нямаше нищо отровно.

42 A nd there came a man from Baal-shalishah, and brought the man of God bread of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and fresh ears of grain in his sack. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

В това време един човек от Ваалсалиса дойде и донесе на Божия човек хляб от първите плодове, двадесет ечемичени хляба и пресни класове жито, небелени. Божият човек каза: Дай на народа да яде.

43 A nd his servant said, What, should I set this before a hundred men? But he said, Give the people, that they may eat; for thus saith Jehovah, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

А слугата му каза: Какво! Да сложа ли това пред стотина човека? А той отговори: Дай на народа да яде, защото така казва Господ: Ще се нахранят и ще остане излишък.

44 S o he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of Jehovah.

Тогава той сложи пред тях и се нахраниха, и остана излишък според Господнето слово.
