4 L e ricchezze procurano gran numero di amici, ma il povero è separato dal suo stesso amico.

Riches add many friends, but a poor man is separated from his friend.

5 I l falso testimone non resterà impunito, e chi proferisce menzogne non avrà scampo.

A man who tells lies about someone will be punished. He who tells lies will not get away.

6 M olti implorano il favore del principe, e tutti sono amici di chi fa doni.

Many will ask for the favor of a man who gives much, and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.

7 T utti i fratelli del povero lo odiano tanto piú si allontanano da lui i suoi amici. Egli può andar loro dietro con parole, ma essi non si trovano piú.

All the brothers of a poor man hate him. How much more do his friends go far from him! He runs to them with words, but they are gone.
