1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 M y life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad.

L'anima mia si glorierà nell'Eterno; gli umili l'udranno e si rallegreranno.

3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.

Magnificate con me l'Eterno ed esaltiamo tutti insieme il suo nome.

4 I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

ho cercato l'Eterno, ed egli mi ha risposto e mi ha liberato da tutti i miei spaventi.

5 T hey looked to Him and were radiant; their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.

Essi hanno guardato a lui e sono stati illuminati, e le loro facce non sono svergognate.

6 T his poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

Quest'afflitto ha gridato, e l'Eterno lo ha esaudito e l'ha salvato da tutte le sue avversità.

7 T he Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and each of them He delivers.

dell'Eterno si accampa attorno a quelli che lo temono e li libera.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.

Gustate e vedete quanto l'Eterno è buono; beato l'uomo che si rifugia in Lui.

9 O fear the Lord, you His saints! For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.

Temete l'Eterno, voi suoi santi, poiché nulla manca a quelli che lo temono.

10 T he young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord, none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.

I leoncelli soffrono penuria e fame, ma quelli che cercano l'Eterno non mancano di alcun bene.

11 C ome, you children, listen to me; I will teach you to revere and worshipfully fear the Lord.

Venite, figlioli, ascoltatemi; io vi insegnerò il timore dell'Eterno.

12 W hat man is he who desires life and longs for many days, that he may see good?

Qual è l'uomo che desidera la vita, e che ama lunghi giorni per vedere il bene?

13 K eep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.

Trattieni la tua lingua dal male e le tue labbra dal dire menzogne.

14 D epart from evil and do good; seek, inquire for, and crave peace and pursue (go after) it!

Allontanati dal male e fa' il bene, cerca la pace e procacciala.

15 T he eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry.

Gli occhi dell'Eterno sono sui giusti, e i suoi orecchi sono attenti al loro grido.

16 T he face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

La faccia dell'Eterno è contro quelli che fanno il male per sradicare la loro memoria dalla terra.

17 W hen the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles.

I giusti gridano e l'Eterno li ascolta e li libera da tutte le loro sventure.

18 T he Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent.

L'Eterno è vicino a quelli che hanno il cuore rotto e salva quelli che hanno lo spirito affranto.

19 M any evils confront the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Molte sono le afflizioni del giusto, ma l'Eterno lo libera da tutte.

20 H e keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.

Egli preserva tutte le sue ossa, e nessuno di esse è spezzato.

21 E vil shall cause the death of the wicked; and they who hate the just and righteous shall be held guilty and shall be condemned.

La malvagità ucciderà il malvagio, e quelli che odiano il giusto saranno distrutti.

22 T he Lord redeems the lives of His servants, and none of those who take refuge and trust in Him shall be condemned or held guilty.

L'Eterno riscatta la vita dei suoi servi, e nessuno di quelli che si rifugiano in lui sarà distrutto.
