1 T he Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles and coastlands be glad!

L'Eterno regna; gioisca la terra e si rallegrino le grandi isole.

2 C louds and darkness are round about Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

Nuvole e tenebre lo avvolgono; giustizia e diritto sono a base del suo trono.

3 F ire goes before Him and burns up His adversaries round about.

Un fuoco lo precede e consuma i suoi nemici tutt'intorno.

4 H is lightnings illumine the world; the earth sees and trembles.

I suoi lampi illuminano il mondo, Ia terra li vede e trema,

5 T he hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

I monti si sciolgono come cera davanti all'Eterno, davanti al Signore di tutta la terra.

6 T he heavens declare His righteousness, and all the peoples see His glory.

I cieli proclamano la sua giustizia e tutti i popoli vedono la sua gloria.

7 L et all those be put to shame who serve graven images, who boast in idols. Fall prostrate before Him, all you gods.

Siano tutti confusi quelli che servono le sculture e quelli che si vantano degli idoli; si prostrino davanti a lui tutti gli dèi.

8 Z ion heard and was glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of Your judgments, O Lord.

Sion ha udito e ne ha gioito, e le figlie di Giuda si sono rallegrate per i tuoi giudizi, o Eterno.

9 F or You, Lord, are high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.

Poiché tu, o Eterno, sei l'Altissimo su tutta la terra, tu sei grandemente esaltato al di sopra di tutti gli dèi.

10 O you who love the Lord, hate evil; He preserves the lives of His saints (the children of God), He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

Voi che amate l'Eterno odiate il male! Egli custodisce la vita dei suoi santi e li libera dalla mano degli empi.

11 L ight is sown for the righteous and strewn along their pathway, and joy for the upright in heart.

La luce è sorta per il giusto e la gioia per i retti di cuore.

12 R ejoice in the Lord, you righteous (upright and in right standing with God), and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.

Rallegratevi nell'Eterno, o giusti, e lodate il suo santo nome.
