1 A nswer me when I call, O God of my righteousness (uprightness, justice, and right standing with You)! You have freed me when I was hemmed in and enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me and hear my prayer.

3 B ut know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly. The Lord listens and heeds when I call to Him.

Or sappiate che l'Eterno si è appartato uno che è santo; l'Eterno mi esaudirà quando griderò a lui.

4 B e angry and sin not; commune with your own hearts upon your beds and be silent (sorry for the things you say in your hearts). Selah!

Adiratevi e non peccate; sul vostro letto meditate nel vostro cuore e state in silenzio. (Sela)

5 O ffer just and right sacrifices; trust (lean on and be confident) in the Lord.

Offrite sacrifici di giustizia e confidate nell'Eterno.

6 M any say, Oh, that we might see some good! Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord.

Molti dicono: «Chi ci farà vedere il bene?». O Eterno, fa' risplendere la luce del tuo volto su di noi.

7 Y ou have put more joy and rejoicing in my heart than when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly.

Tu mi hai messo piú gioia nel cuore di quanto ne provano essi, quando il loro grano ed il loro mosto abbondano.

8 I n peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust.

In pace mi coricherò e in pace dormirò, poiché tu solo, o Eterno, mi fai dimorare al sicuro.
