4 M ake me, Your servant, to rejoice, O Lord, for to You do I lift myself up.

5 F or You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; and You are abundant in mercy and loving-kindness to all those who call upon You.

Poiché tu, o Signore, sei buono e pronto a perdonare, e usi grande benignità verso tutti quelli che t'invocano.

6 G ive ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and listen to the cry of my supplications.

Tendi l'orecchio, o Eterno, alla mia preghiera, e sii attento al grido delle mie suppliche.

7 I n the day of my trouble I will call on You, for You will answer me.

Io t'invoco nel giorno della mia avversità, perché tu mi risponderai.

8 T here is none like unto You among the gods, O Lord, neither are their works like unto Yours.

Non vi è nessuno pari a te fra gli dèi, o Signore né vi sono opere pari alle tue.

9 A ll nations whom You have made shall come and fall down before You, O Lord; and they shall glorify Your name.

Tutte le nazioni che tu hai creato verranno a prostrarsi davanti a te o Signore, e glorificheranno il tuo nome.

10 F or You are great and work wonders! You alone are God.

Poiché tu sei grande e operi meraviglie; tu solo sei DIO.

11 T each me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart to fear and honor Your name.

Insegnami la tua via, o Eterno, e io camminerò nella tua verità; unisci il mio cuore al timore del tuo nome.

12 I will confess and praise You, O Lord my God, with my whole (united) heart; and I will glorify Your name forevermore.

Io ti loderò, o Signore, DIO mio, con tutto il mio cuore, e glorificherò il tuo nome in eterno.

13 F or great is Your mercy and loving-kindness toward me; and You have delivered me from the depths of Sheol.

14 O God, the proud and insolent are risen against me; a rabble of violent and ruthless men has sought and demanded my life, and they have not set You before them.

15 B ut You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and loving-kindness and truth.

Ma tu, o Signore, sei un DIO misericordioso e pietoso, lento all'ira e ricco in benignità e verità.

16 O turn to me and have mercy and be gracious to me; grant strength (might and inflexibility to temptation) to Your servant and save the son of Your handmaiden.

Volgiti a me e abbi pietà di me; dà la tua forza al tuo servo e salva il figlio della tua serva.

17 S how me a sign of goodwill and favor, that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame, because You, Lord, help and comfort me.

Mostrami un segno del tuo favore, affinché quelli che mi odiano lo vedano e rimangano confusi, vedendo che tu, o Eterno, mi hai soccorso e mi hai consolato.
