1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

¶ Aleph I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 M y life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad.

Beth My soul shall glory in the LORD; the meek shall hear of this, and be glad.

3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.

Gimel O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4 I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Daleth I sought the LORD, and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears.

5 T hey looked to Him and were radiant; their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.

He They looked unto him and were lightened, and their faces were not ashamed.

6 T his poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

Vau This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 T he Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and each of them He delivers.

Zain The angel of the LORD encamps round about those that fear him and delivers them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.

Cheth O taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man that shall trust in him.

9 O fear the Lord, you His saints! For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.

Teth O fear the LORD, ye his saints; for those that fear him lack nothing.

10 T he young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord, none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.

Jod The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those that seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.

11 C ome, you children, listen to me; I will teach you to revere and worshipfully fear the Lord.

¶ Caph Come, ye children, hearken unto me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

12 W hat man is he who desires life and longs for many days, that he may see good?

Lamed Who is the man that desires life and loves many days that he may see good?

13 K eep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.

Mem Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14 D epart from evil and do good; seek, inquire for, and crave peace and pursue (go after) it!

Nun Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 T he eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry.

Samech The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16 T he face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Ain The anger of the LORD is against those that do evil to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 W hen the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles.

Pe The righteous cried out, and the LORD heard and delivered them out of all their troubles.

18 T he Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent.

Tzaddi The LORD is near unto those that are of a broken heart and saves such as are of a contrite spirit.

19 M any evils confront the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Koph Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD shall deliver him out of them all,

20 H e keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.

Resh keeping all his bones; not one of them shall be broken.

21 E vil shall cause the death of the wicked; and they who hate the just and righteous shall be held guilty and shall be condemned.

Schin Evil shall slay the wicked; and those that hate the righteous shall be declared guilty.

22 T he Lord redeems the lives of His servants, and none of those who take refuge and trust in Him shall be condemned or held guilty.

Tau The LORD ransoms the soul of his slaves, and none of those that trust in him shall be declared guilty.
