1 T he sons of Issachar were: Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron—four in all.

¶ The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron, four.

2 T he sons of Tola: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, Shemuel (Samuel)—heads of their fathers’ houses, descendants of Tola. They were mighty men of valor in their generations; their number in David’s days was 22, 600.

The sons of Tola: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of the houses of their fathers. Those of Tola numbered by their families twenty-two thousand valiant men of might in the days of David.

3 T he son of Uzzi: Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah: Michael, Obadiah, Joel, Isshiah—five, all of them chief men.

The son of Uzzi was Izrahiah; and the sons of Izrahiah: Michael, Obadiah, Joel, Ishiah, all of them, five princes.

4 A nd with them by their generations according to their fathers’ houses were units of the army for war, 36, 000, for they had many wives and children.

And with them, by their lineages, after the houses of their fathers, were bands of soldiers for war, thirty-six thousand men, for they had many wives and sons.

5 T heir kinsmen from all the families of Issachar, mighty men of valor, registered by genealogies, were in all 87, 000.

And their brethren among all the families of Issachar were valiant men of might, reckoned in all by their genealogies eighty-seven thousand.

6 T he sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, and Jediael—three in all.

7 T he sons of Bela: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri—five, heads of the houses of their fathers, mighty men of valor. By their genealogies they numbered 22, 034.

8 T he sons of Becher: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth, all sons of Becher.

The sons of Becher: Zemira, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jerimoth, Abiah, Anathoth, and Alameth. All these are the sons of Becher.

9 T he number of them by their genealogies by generations, as heads of their fathers’ houses, mighty warriors, was 20, 200.

And the number of them, after their genealogy by their generations, heads of the houses of their fathers, mighty men of valour, was twenty thousand two hundred.

10 T he son of Jediael: Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.

The son of Jediael was Bilhan; and the sons of Bilhan: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.

11 A ll these were the sons of Jediael, according to the heads of their fathers’ houses, mighty men of valor, 17, 200, able and fit for service in war.

All these were sons of Jediael, by the heads of their fathers, mighty men of valour, seventeen thousand two hundred soldiers, fit to go out for war and battle.

12 S huppim and Huppim were the sons of Ir, and Hushim the son of Aher.

And Shuppim and Huppim were sons of Ir; and Hushim, the son of Aher.

13 T he sons of Naphtali: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum, whose was Bilhah.

The sons of Naphtali: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah.

14 T he sons of Manasseh: Ashriel, whom his concubine the Aramitess bore; she bore Machir the father of Gilead.

The sons of Manasseh: Ashriel, whom his concubine, the Aramitess, gave birth unto him; she also gave birth to Machir, the father of Gilead.

15 A nd Machir took as wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim; her name was Maacah. The name of a second, was Zelophehad; and Zelophehad had daughters.

And Machir took wives of Huppim and Shuppim, whose sister’s name was Maachah, and the name of the second was Zelophehad. And Zelophehad had daughters.

16 M aacah the wife of Machir bore a son; she called his name Peresh. The name of his brother was Sheresh; his sons were Ulam and Rakem.

And Maachah, the wife of Machir, gave birth to a son unto him, and she called his name Peresh, and the name of his brother was Sheresh, whose sons were Ulam and Rakem.

17 T he son of Ulam: Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.

The son of Ulam was Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.

18 H is sister Hammolecheth bore Ishbod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.

And his sister Hammoleketh gave birth to Ishod, Abiezer, and Mahalah.

19 T he sons of Shemida were: Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

And the sons of Shemida were, Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.

20 T he sons of Ephraim: Shuthelah, Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eleadah his son, Tahath his son,

¶ The sons of Ephraim: Shuthelah, Bered, his son, Tahath his son, Eladah, his son, Tahath, his son,

21 Z abad his son, and Shuthelah his son. Ezer and Elead were slain by men of Gath born in the land, who had come down to steal the cattle.

30 T he sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah; and Serah their sister.

33 T he sons of Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were the sons of Japhlet.

40 A ll these were offspring of Asher, heads of their fathers’ houses, approved men, mighty warriors, chief of the princes. Their number enrolled by genealogies for service in war, was 26, 000 men.

All these were sons of Asher, heads of their father’s houses, chosen, mighty men of valour, heads of princes. And the number throughout the genealogy of those that were apt for war and for battle was twenty-six thousand men.
