1 W hen Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You.
¶ Jesus spoke these words and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour is come; clarify thy Son, that thy Son may also clarify thee,
2 Y ou have granted Him power and authority over all flesh (all humankind), so that He may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him.
as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 A nd this is eternal life: to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and to know Him, Jesus Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have glorified You down here on the earth by completing the work that You gave Me to do.
I have clarified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou didst give me to do.
5 A nd now, Father, glorify Me along with Yourself and restore Me to such majesty and honor in Your presence as I had with You before the world existed.
And now, O Father, clarify thou me with thine own self with that clarity which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested Your Name to the people whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me, and they have obeyed and kept Your word.
¶ I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou didst give me out of the world; thine they were, and thou didst give them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 N ow they know and understand that all You have given Me belongs to You.
Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 F or the words that You gave Me I have given them; and they have received and accepted and have come to know positively and in reality that I came forth from Your presence, and they have believed and are convinced that You did send Me.
For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 I am praying for them. I am not praying (requesting) for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they belong to You.
I pray for them; I do not pray for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 A ll Mine are Yours, and all Yours belong to Me; and I am glorified in (through) them.
And all my things are thine, and thine are mine; and I have been clarified in them.
11 A nd I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep in Your Name '> in the knowledge of Yourself] those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We.
¶ And now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, those whom thou hast given me, keep them in thy name, that they may be one, as we are.
12 W hile I was with them, I kept and preserved them in Your Name '> in the knowledge and worship of You]. Those You have given Me I guarded and protected, and not one of them has perished or is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13 A nd now I am coming to You; I say these things while I am still in the world, so that My joy may be made full and complete and perfect in them.
And now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
I have given them thy word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one.
I do not pray that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil.
16 T hey are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), as I am not of the world.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 S anctify them by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.
¶ Sanctify them in thy truth; thy word is the truth.
18 J ust as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 A nd so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified in the truth.
20 N either for these alone do I pray, but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching,
¶ Neither do I pray for these alone, but also for those who shall believe in me through their word;
21 T hat they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.
that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one as We are one:
And the clarity which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them as You have loved Me.
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfect in one and that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.
24 F ather, I desire that they also whom You have entrusted to Me may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory, which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
¶ Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my clarity, which thou hast given me, for thou hast loved me from before the foundation of the world.
25 O just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has failed to recognize You and has never acknowledged You, I have known You; and these men understand and know that You have sent Me.
O righteous Father, the world has not known thee; but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them and that I may be in them.
And I have manifested unto them thy name and will manifest it still, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
