1 A nd the Lord said to Moses,

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 C ommand the Israelites that they bring to you pure oil from beaten olives for the light to cause a lamp to burn continually.

Command the sons of Israel that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.

3 O utside the veil of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the Lord continually; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.

Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the testimony, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually; it shall be a perpetual statute for all your ages.

4 H e shall keep the lamps in order upon the lampstand of pure gold before the Lord continually.

He shall order the lamps upon the pure lampstand before the LORD continually.

5 A nd you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake.

And thou shalt take fine flour and bake twelve cakes thereof; each cake shall be of two-tenth deals.

6 A nd you shall set them in two rows, six in a row, upon the table of pure gold before the Lord.

And thou shalt set them in two orders, six in each order, upon the clean table before the LORD.

7 Y ou shall put pure frankincense beside each row, that it may be with the bread as a memorial portion, an offering to be made by fire to the Lord.

And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each order, that it may be on the bread for an aroma and incense unto the LORD.

8 E very Sabbath day Aaron shall set the showbread in order before the Lord continually; it is on behalf of the Israelites, an everlasting covenant.

Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually: an everlasting covenant of the sons of Israel.

9 A nd the bread shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a sacred place, for it is for a most holy portion of the offerings to the Lord made by fire, a perpetual due.

And it shall belong to Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in the holy place, for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD on fire, by a perpetual statute.

10 N ow the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the Israelites, and he and a man of Israel quarreled and strove together in the camp.

¶ In that season the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the sons of Israel; and this son of the Israelite woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;

11 T he Israelite woman’s son blasphemed the Name and cursed. They brought him to Moses—his mother was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.

and the Israelite woman’s son pronounced the Name and cursed; and they brought him unto Moses. And his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.

12 A nd they put him in custody until the will of the Lord might be declared to them.

And they put him in ward that the mind of the LORD might be showed them.

13 A nd the Lord said to Moses,

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

14 B ring him who has cursed out of the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands upon his head; then let all the congregation stone him.

Bring forth the one that has blasphemed outside the camp and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

15 A nd you shall say to the Israelites, Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin.

And thou shalt speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, The man that speaks evil of his God shall bear his sin.

16 A nd he who blasphemes the Name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him; the stranger as well as he who was born in the land shall be put to death when he blasphemes the Name.

And he that pronounces the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him; the same with the stranger as with the natural, if he pronounces the Name, he shall be put to death.

17 A nd he who kills any man shall surely be put to death.

Likewise he that kills any man shall surely be put to death.

18 A nd he who kills a beast shall make it good, beast for beast.

And he that kills an animal shall make it good: animal for animal.

19 A nd if a man causes a blemish or disfigurement on his neighbor, it shall be done to him as he has done:

And if a man causes a blemish in his neighbour; as he has done, so shall it be done to him;

20 F racture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has caused a blemish or disfigurement on a man, so shall it be done to him.

breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he has caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.

21 H e who kills a beast shall replace it; he who kills a man shall be put to death.

He that kills an animal shall restore it, but he that kills a man shall be put to death.

22 Y ou shall have the same law for the sojourner among you as for one of your own nationality, for I am the Lord your God.

Ye shall have one manner of law: as for the stranger, so shall it be for the natural; for I am the LORD your God.

23 M oses spoke to the Israelites, and they brought him who had cursed out of the camp and stoned him with stones. Thus the Israelites did as the Lord commanded Moses.

And Moses spoke to the sons of Israel that they should bring forth the one that had blasphemed out of the camp and stone him with stones. And the sons of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.
