1 B less (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!

¶ Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless the name of his holiness.

2 B less (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits—

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3 W ho forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases;

4 W ho redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy;

who redeems thy life from destruction; who crowns thee with mercy and compassion;

5 W ho satisfies your mouth with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle’s!

who satisfies thy mouth with good things so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6 T he Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

¶ The LORD executes righteousness and justice unto all that suffer violence.

7 H e made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the sons of Israel.

8 T he Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy and loving-kindness.

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

9 H e will not always chide or be contending, neither will He keep His anger forever or hold a grudge.

He will not always chide, neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10 H e has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

He has not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 F or as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him.

For as the heavens are high above the earth so does he increase his mercy over those that fear him.

12 A s far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our rebellions from us.

13 A s a father loves and pities his children, so the Lord loves and pities those who fear Him.

Like as a father has mercy upon his children, so the LORD has mercy upon those that fear him.

14 F or He knows our frame, He remembers and imprints that we are dust.

For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.

15 A s for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

As for man, his days are as grass; as an open flower of the field, so he blossoms.

16 F or the wind passes over it and it is gone, and its place shall know it no more.

For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place shall know it no more.

17 B ut the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord are from everlasting to everlasting upon those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, and His righteousness is to children’s children—

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon those that fear him, and his righteousness unto the children’s children,

18 T o such as keep His covenant and to those who remember His commandments to do them.

to such as keep his covenant and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

19 T he Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.

¶ The LORD has prepared his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.

20 B less (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, hearkening to the voice of His word.

Bless the LORD, ye his angels, valiant and strong, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21 B less (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, all you His hosts, you His ministers who do His pleasure.

Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts, ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22 B less the Lord, all His works in all places of His dominion; bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul!

Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.
