1 P raise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, praise Him in the assembly of His saints!

¶ Halelu-JAH. Sing unto the LORD a new song, let his praise be in the congregation of the merciful.

2 L et Israel rejoice in Him, their Maker; let Zion’s children triumph and be joyful in their King!

Let Israel rejoice with his Maker; let the sons of Zion be joyful with their King.

3 L et them praise His name in chorus and choir and with the dance; let them sing praises to Him with the tambourine and lyre!

Let them praise his name in the dance; let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

4 F or the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation and adorn the wretched with victory.

For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he will beautify the humble with saving health.

5 L et the saints be joyful in the glory and beauty; let them sing for joy upon their beds.

The merciful shall be joyful with glory; they shall sing aloud upon their beds.

6 L et the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands,

¶ The high praises of God shall be in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hand,

7 T o wreak vengeance upon the nations and chastisement upon the peoples,

to execute vengeance upon the Gentiles and punishments upon the peoples,

8 T o bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron,

to imprison their kings with fetters and their nobles with chains of iron,

9 T o execute upon them the judgment written. He is the honor of all His saints. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

to execute upon them the judgment written: this shall be glory for all his merciful ones. Halelu-JAH.
