1 N ow Miriam and Aaron talked against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite woman.
¶ And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had taken; for he had taken an Ethiopian woman.
2 A nd they said, Has the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? Has He not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.
And they said, Has the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? Has he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
3 N ow the man Moses was very meek (gentle, kind, and humble) or above all the men on the face of the earth.
(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4 S uddenly the Lord said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, Come out, you three, to the Tent of Meeting. And the three of them came out.
¶ And the LORD spoke suddenly unto Moses and unto Aaron and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the testimony. And they three came out.
5 T he Lord came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the Tent door and called Aaron and Miriam, and they came forward.
Then the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud and stood in the door of the tabernacle and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forth.
6 A nd He said, Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make Myself known to him in a vision and speak to him in a dream.
And he said, Hear now my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision and will speak unto him in dreams.
7 B ut not so with My servant Moses; he is entrusted and faithful in all My house.
My slave Moses is not so, who is faithful in all my house.
8 W ith him I speak mouth to mouth, clearly and not in dark speeches; and he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?
With him I will speak mouth to mouth and by sight not by enigmas; he shall see the similitude of the LORD. Why then were ye not afraid to speak against my slave Moses?
9 A nd the anger of the Lord was kindled against them, and He departed.

10 A nd when the cloud departed from over the Tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. And Aaron looked at Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous!
¶ And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle, and, behold, Miriam was leprous as the snow; and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
11 A nd Aaron said to Moses, Oh, my lord, I plead with you, lay not the sin upon us in which we have done foolishly and in which we have sinned.
And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, in which we have done foolishly, and we have sinned.
12 L et her not be as one dead, already half decomposed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.
Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.
13 A nd Moses cried to the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech You!
Then Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.
14 A nd the Lord said to Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed for seven days? Let her be shut up outside the camp for seven days, and after that let her be brought in again.
And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
15 S o Miriam was shut up without the camp for seven days, and the people did not journey on until Miriam was brought in again.
So Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days, and the people did not journey until Miriam was brought in again.
16 A fterward removed from Hazeroth and encamped in the Wilderness of Paran.
And afterward he moved the people from Hazeroth, and they pitched camp in the wilderness of Paran.
