1 " Me siguri ka një minierë për argjendin dhe një vend ku bëhet rafinimi i arit.

“For sure there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is made pure.

2 H ekuri nxirret nga toka dhe guri i shkrirë jep bakrin.

Iron is taken out of the earth. And copper is melted from the rock.

3 N jeriu i jep fund territ dhe hulumton thellësitë më të mëdha në kërkim të gurëve të varrosur në terr dhe në hijen e vdekjes.

Man looks into the deepest darkness. And he goes out to the farthest part of the earth to look for rocks in the dark places.

4 A i çel një pus larg vendbanimit, në vende të harruara nga këmbësorët; janë pezull dhe lëkunden larg njerëzve.

Men break open deep holes far from where people live, forgotten by travelers. In the holes they hang and move from side to side far from men.

5 S a për tokën, prej asaj del buka, por nga poshtë është e trazuar nga zjarri.

As for the earth, out of it comes food. But below, it is turned up as fire.

6 G urët e saj janë banesa e safirëve dhe përmbajnë pluhur ari.

Sapphires come from its rocks and its dust has gold.

7 S hpendi grabitqar nuk e njeh shtegun dhe as syri i skifterit nuk e ka parë kurrë.

No bird who eats meat knows that path. The falcon’s eye has not seen it.

8 B ishat e egra nuk e kanë përshkruar dhe as luani nuk ka kaluar kurrë andej.

The proud animals have not stepped on it. The strong lion has not passed over it.

9 N jeriu vë dorë mbi strallin dhe i rrëzon malet nga rrënjët.

Man puts his hand on the hard rock. He turns the mountains over at its base.

10 H ap galeri ndër shkëmbinj dhe syri i tij sheh gjithçka që është e çmuar.

He makes a path through the rocks, and his eyes see everything of much worth.

11 Z ë rrjedhat ujore që të mos rrjedhin, dhe nxjerr në dritë gjërat e fshehura.

He stops rivers from flowing. And he brings to light what is hidden.

12 P o ku mund ta gjesh diturinë, dhe ku është vendi i zgjuarsisë?

“But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?

13 N jeriu nuk ua di vlerën dhe ajo nuk gjendet mbi tokën e të gjallëve.

Man does not know its worth, and it is not found in the land of the living.

14 H umnera thotë: "Nuk është tek unë"; deti thotë: "Nuk qëndron pranë meje".

The deep waters say, ‘It is not in me.’ The sea says, ‘It is not with me.’

15 N uk përftohet duke e shkëmbyer me ar të rafinuar as blihet duke peshuar argjend.

Pure gold cannot be traded for it and it cannot be bought with silver.

16 N uk shtihet në dorë me arin e Ofirit, me oniksin e çmuar ose me safirin.

It cannot be compared in worth to the gold of Ophir, onyx of much worth, or sapphire.

17 A ri dhe kristali nuk mund të barazohen me të dhe nuk këmbehet me enë ari të kulluar.

Gold or glass cannot be compared to it in worth and it cannot be traded for objects of fine gold.

18 K orali dhe kristali as që meritojnë të përmenden; vlera e diturisë është më e madhe se margaritarët.

There is no need to say anything about coral or crystal because wisdom cannot be paid for with rubies.

19 T opazi i Etiopisë nuk mund të barazohet dhe nuk mund të vlerësohet me ar të kulluar.

The topaz of Ethiopia cannot be compared to it in worth and it cannot be compared with the worth of pure gold.

20 P or atëherë nga rrjedh dituria dhe ku e ka selinë zgjuarsia?

Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding?

21 A jo u fshihet syve të çdo të gjalli, është e mbuluar për zogjtë e qiellit.

It is hidden from the eyes of all living. It is hidden from the birds of the sky.

22 A badoni dhe vdekja thonë: "Kemi dëgjuar të flitet për të me veshët tona".

The Place That Destroys and Death say, ‘We have only heard about it with our ears.’

23 V etëm Perëndia njeh rrugën e saj, vetëm ai e di ku ndodhet,

“God understands the way to wisdom, and He knows its place.

24 s epse ai vë re skajet e tokës dhe sheh tërë ato që ndodhen nën qiejt.

For He looks to the ends of the earth, and sees everything under the heavens.

25 K ur caktoi peshën e erës dhe u caktoi ujërave një masë,

He gave weight to the wind. He decided how much water would be in the sea.

26 k ur bëri një ligj për shiun dhe një rrugë për vetëtimën e bubullimave,

He decided how much rain would fall, and the path for the lightning.

27 a tëherë pa dhe e tregoi, e vendosi dhe madje e hetoi,

Then He saw wisdom and made it known. He made it last, and found out all about it.

28 d he i tha njeriut: "Ja, të kesh frikë nga Zoti, kjo është dituri, dhe t’i largohesh së keqes është zgjuarsi"".

And He said to man, ‘See, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. And to turn away from sin is understanding.’”
