1 P astaj iu afruan farisenjtë dhe saducenjtë dhe, për ta tunduar, i kërkuan që t’u tregojë një shenjë nga qielli.

The proud religious law-keepers and a religious group of people who believe no one will be raised from the dead came to Jesus. They asked Him to show something special from heaven. They wanted to trap Jesus.

2 P or ai iu përgjigj atyre dhe tha: “Në mbrëmje ju thoni: "Do të jetë mot i mirë, sepse qielli është i kuq".

(He said to them, “In the evening you say, ‘The weather will be good tomorrow because the sky is red.’

3 D he në mëngjes thoni: "Sot do të jetë stuhi, sepse qielli është i kuq dhe i vranët". Hipokritë, pra, ju dini të dalloni dukuritë e qiellit, por nuk arrini të kuptoni shenjat e kohës?

And in the morning you say, ‘We will have a storm today because the sky is red and the clouds are low.’ You understand the things you see in the sky, but you cannot understand the special things you see these days!)

4 N jë brez i mbrapshtë dhe kurorëshkelës kërkon një shenjë, por nuk do t’i jepet asnjë shenjë, përveç shenjës së profetit Jona.” Dhe i la ata dhe shkoi.

The sinful people of this day go after something special to see. There will be nothing special for them to see but the early preacher Jonah.” Then He went away from them. Jesus Shows That the Teaching of the Proud Religious Law-Keepers Is Wrong

5 K ur dishepujt e vet arritën në bregun tjetër, ja që kishin harruar të marrin bukë me vete.

The followers came to the other side of the lake. They remembered they had forgotten to bring bread.

6 D he Jezusi u tha atyre: “Kini kujdes dhe ruhuni nga majaja e farisenjve dhe e saducenjve!.”

Jesus said to them, “See! Have nothing to do with the yeast of the proud religious law-keepers and the religious group of people who believe no one will be raised from the dead.”

7 D he ata arsyetuan ndërmjet tyre duke thënë: “Se nuk kemi marrë bukë.”

They started to think about it among themselves and said, “He said this because we forgot to bring bread.”

8 P or Jezusi i vuri re e iu tha atyre: “O njerëz besimpakë, përse diskutoni ndërmjet jush që nuk keni marrë bukë?

Jesus knew this and said, “You have very little faith! Why are you talking among yourselves about not bringing bread?

9 N uk e keni kuptuar akoma dhe nuk kujtoni të pesë bukët për pesë mijë burrat dhe sa kosha keni mbledhur?

Do you not yet understand or remember the five loaves of bread that fed five thousand men? And how many baskets full were gathered up?

10 D he të shtatë bukët për katër mijë bu-rra dhe sa kosha keni mbushur?

Or do you not even remember the seven loaves of bread that fed the four thousand men? And how many baskets full were gathered up?

11 S i nuk kuptoni që nuk e kisha fjalën për bukën kur ju thashë të ruheni nga majaja e farisenjve dhe saducenjve?.”

Why is it that you do not see that I was not talking to you about bread? I was talking to you about keeping away from the yeast of the proud religious law-keepers and the religious group of people who believe no one will be raised from the dead.”

12 A tëherë ata e kuptuan se ai nuk u kishte thënë të ruheshin nga majaja e bukës, por nga doktrina e farisenjve dhe të saducenjve.

Then they understood that it was not the yeast of bread that He was talking about. But He was talking about the teaching of the proud religious law-keepers and of the other religious group of people. Peter Says Jesus Is the Christ

13 P astaj Jezusi, mbasi arriti në krahinën e Cezaresë së Filipit, i pyeti dishepujt e vet: “Kush thonë njerëzit se jam unë, i Biri i njeriut?.”

Jesus came into the country of Caesarea Philippi. He asked His followers, “Who do people say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

14 D he ata thanë: “Disa Gjon Pagëzori, të tjerë Elia, të tjerë Jeremia, ose një nga profetët.”

They said, “Some say You are John the Baptist and some say Elijah and others say Jeremiah or one of the early preachers.”

15 A i u tha atyre: “Po ju, kush thoni se jam unë?.”

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

16 D he Simon Pjetri duke u përgjigjur tha: “Ti je Krishti, Biri i Perëndisë të gjallë.”

Simon Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

17 D he Jezusi duke përgjigjur u tha: “I lumur je ti, o Simon, bir i Jonas, sepse këtë nuk ta zbuloi as mishi as gjaku, por Ati im që është në qiej.

Jesus said to him, “Simon, son of Jonah, you are happy because you did not learn this from man. My Father in heaven has shown you this.

18 D he unë po të them gjithashtu se ti je Pjetri, dhe mbi këtë shkëmb unë do të ndërtoj kishën time dhe dyert e ferrit nuk do ta mundin atë.

“And I tell you that you are Peter. On this rock I will build My church. The powers of hell will not be able to have power over My church.

19 D he unë do të të jap çelësat e mbretërisë së qiejve; gjithçka që të kesh lidhur mbi tokë, do të jetë lidhur në qiej, dhe gjithçka që të kesh zgjidhur mbi tokë, do të jetë zgjidhur në qiej.”

I will give you the keys of the holy nation of heaven. Whatever you do not allow on earth will not have been allowed in heaven. Whatever you allow on earth will have been allowed in heaven.”

20 A tëherë i urdhëroi dishepujt e vet që të mos i thonin askujt se ai ishte Jezusi, Krishti.

Then with strong words He told His followers to tell no one that He was the Christ. Jesus Tells of His Death for the First Time

21 Q ë nga ai çast Jezusi filloi t’u sqarojë dishepujve të vet se i duhej të shkonte në Jeruzalem, të vuante shumë për shkak të pleqve, të krerëve të priftërinjve dhe të skribëve, se do të vritej dhe do të ringjallej të tretën ditë.

From that time on Jesus began to tell His followers that He had to go to Jerusalem and suffer many things. These hard things would come from the leaders and from the head religious leaders of the Jews and from the teachers of the Law. He told them He would be killed and three days later He would be raised from the dead.

22 A tëherë Pjetri e mori mënjanë dhe nisi ta qortojë duke thënë: “O Zot, të shpëtoftë Perëndia; kjo nuk do të të ndodhë kurrë.”

Peter took Jesus away from the others and spoke sharp words to Him. He said, “Never, Lord! This must not happen to You!”

23 P or ai u kthye dhe i tha Pjetrit: “Shporru prej meje, o Satan! Ti je një skandal për mua, sepse s’ke ndër mënd punët e Perëndisë, por punët e njerëzve.”

Then Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are standing in My way. You are not thinking how God thinks. You are thinking how man thinks.” Giving Up Riches

24 A tëherë Jezusi u tha dishepujve të vet: “Në qoftë se dikush don të vijë pas meje, ta mohojë vetveten, ta marrë kryqin e vet dhe të më ndjekë.

Jesus said to His followers, “If anyone wants to be My follower, he must forget about himself. He must take up his cross and follow Me.

25 S epse ai që do të dojë ta shpëtojë jetën e vet, do ta humbasë; por ai që do ta humbasë jetën e vet për hirin tim, do ta gjejë atë.

If anyone wants to keep his life safe, he will lose it. If anyone gives up his life because of Me, he will save it.

26 Ç ’përfitim ka njeriu nëse fiton gjithë botën dhe pastaj e humb shpirtin e vet? Ose çfarë do të japë njeriu si shkëmbim të shpirtit të vet?

For what does a man have if he gets all the world and loses his own soul? What can a man give to buy back his soul?

27 S epse Biri i njeriut do të vijë në lavdinë e Atit të vet bashkë me engjëjt e tij; dhe atëherë ai do të shpërblejë secilin sipas veprës së tij.

The Son of Man will come in the greatness of His Father with His angels. Then He will give to every man his pay as he has worked.

28 N ë të vërtetë ju them se disa nga ata që janë të pranishëm këtu nuk do të vdesin pa e shikuar më parë Birin e njeriut duke ardhur në mbretërinë e vet.”

For sure, I tell you, there are some standing here that will not die until they see the Son of Man coming as King.”
