1 K ur Jabini, mbret i Hatsorit, i mësoi këto ngjarje, u dërgoi lajmëtarë Johabit, mbretit të Madonit, mbretit të Shimronit dhe atij të Akshafit,

Jabin king of Hazor heard what had happened. He sent news to Jobab king of Madon and to the kings of Shimron and Achshaph.

2 m bretërve që ndodheshin në veri të zonës malore, në Arabah, në jug të Kinerethit, në ultësirën dhe mbi lartësitë e Dorit, në perëndim,

He sent news to the kings in the hill country to the north, in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, in the valleys, and in the high land of Dor to the west.

3 K ananejve që ishin në lindje dhe në perëndim, Amorejve, Hitejve, Perezejve dhe Jebusejve në krahinën malore, Hivejve në këmbët e malit Hermon në vendin e Mitspahut.

He sent news to the Canaanite in the east and in the west, and the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite at the base of Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

4 K ështu ata dolën, ata vetë me tërë ushtritë e tyre, një turmë shumë e madhe si rëra që është mbi bregun e detit dhe me kuaj e qerre në një numër shumë të madh.

Then they came out, they and all their armies with them. There were as many people as the sand beside the sea. And they had very many horses and war-wagons.

5 K ështu tërë këta mbretër u bashkuan dhe erdhën në afërsitë e ujërave të Meromit për të ngritur një kamp të përbashkët dhe për të luftuar kundër Izraelit.

All of these kings met and came and stayed together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

6 P or Zoti i tha Jozueut: "Mos u tremb nga ata, sepse nesër në këtë orë ke për t’i parë të gjithë të vrarë para Izraelit. Do të presësh leqet e këmbëve të kuajve të tyre dhe do të djegësh qerret e tyre".

“Do not be afraid,” the Lord said to Joshua. “For tomorrow at this time I will have killed all of them for Israel. You will cut the legs of their horses and burn their war-wagons with fire.”

7 J ozueu, pra, dhe gjithë luftëtarët bashkë me të, marshuan papritmas kundër tyre afër ujërave të Meromit dhe i sulmuan;

So Joshua with all the men of war came upon them by surprise at the waters of Merom, and fought against them.

8 d he Zoti i dha në duart e Izraelitëve, të cilët i mundën dhe i ndoqën deri në Sidonin e madh, deri në ujërat e Misrefothit dhe në luginën e Mitspahut, në drejtim të lindjes; i mundën deri në atë pikë sa nuk lanë të gjallë asnjë prej tyre.

And the Lord gave them into the hand of Israel. They won the war against them and ran after them as far as the big city of Sidon and Misrephoth-maim and the valley of Mizpeh to the east. They killed them until no one was left alive.

9 J ozueu i trajtoi si i kishte thënë Zoti preu leqet e këmbëve të kuajve të tyre dhe ua dogji qerret.

Joshua did to them as the Lord had told him. He cut the legs of their horses and burned their war-wagons with fire.

10 N ë po atë periudhë Jozueu u kthye dhe pushtoi Hatsorin, vrau mbretin e tij me shpatë, sepse në të kaluarën Hatsori kishte qenë kryeqyteti i tërë këtyre mbretërive.

Then Joshua turned back and took Hazor and killed its king with the sword. For Hazor had been the head of all these nations.

11 V rau me shpatë tërë njerëzit që gjendeshin aty, duke vendosur shfarosjen e tyre; pastaj i vuri flakën Hatsorit.

They killed every person in it with the sword, destroying all of them. There was no one left who breathed. Then he burned Hazor with fire.

12 K ështu Jozueu pushtoi tërë qytetet e këtyre mbretërive, zuri mbretërit e tyre dhe i vrau me shpatë, duke vendosur shfarosjen e tyre, ashtu si kishte urdhëruar Moisiu, shërbëtori i Zotit.

Joshua took all the cities of these kings, and all their kings and killed them with the sword. He destroyed all of them, just as the Lord’s servant Moses had told him.

13 P or Izraeli nuk u vuri flakën asnjërit prej qyteteve që ngriheshin në kodrinat, me përjashtim të Hatsorit, i vetmi qytet që Jozueu dogji.

But Israel did not burn any cities that stood on their hills, except Hazor, which Joshua burned.

14 B ijtë e Izraelit morën për vete tërë plaçkën e këtyre qyteteve dhe bagëtinë, por vranë tërë njerëzit dhe nuk lanë shpirt të gjallë.

The sons of Israel took for themselves all the riches of these cities and the cattle. But they killed every man with the sword until they had destroyed them. They left no one who breathed.

15 A shtu si e kishte urdhëruar Zoti Moisiun, shërbëtorin e tij, kështu Moisiu urdhëroi Jozueun, dhe ky nuk la pas dore asgjë nga tërë ato që Zoti i kishte urdhëruar Moisiut.

What the Lord had told His servant Moses to do, he told Joshua, and Joshua did it. He did everything the Lord had told Moses.

16 K ështu Jozueu shtiu në dorë tërë atë vend, krahinën malore, tërë Negevin, tërë vendin e Goshenit, ultësirën, Arabahun, krahinën malore të Izraelit dhe ultësirat e tij,

So Joshua took all that land. He took the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen, the valleys, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel and its valleys.

17 n ga mali Holak, që ngrihet në drejtim të Seirit, deri në Baal-Gad në luginën e Libanit në këmbët e malit Hermon; zuri tërë mbretërit e tyre, i goditi dhe i vrau.

He took the land from Mount Halak which goes up to Seir as far as Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon at the base of Mount Hermon. He took all their kings and killed them.

18 J ozueu luftoi gjatë kundër të gjithë këtyre mbretërve.

Joshua made war against these kings for a long time.

19 N uk pati qytet që të bënte paqe me bijtë e Izraelit, me përjashtim të Hivejve që banonin në Gabaon; i pushtuan të gjitha me luftë.

There was not a city which made peace with the sons of Israel except the Hivites living in Gibeon. They took them all in battle.

20 N ë fakt ishte Zoti vetë që fortësonte zemrën e tyre që të bënin luftë kundër Izraelit, me qëllim që Izraeli të vendoste shfarosjen e tyre pa asnjë mëshirë për ta, por t’i zhdukte nga faqja e dheut ashtu si e kishte urdhëruar Zoti Moisiun.

For the Lord made their hearts hard to meet Israel in battle, so Israel might destroy all of them. They would not be shown pity but would be destroyed, just as the Lord had told Moses.

21 P o në këtë periudhë Jozueu u nis në marshim dhe shfarosi Anakitët e krahinës malore, ata të Hebronit, të Debirit, të Anabit, të të gjithë krahinës malore të Judës dhe të të gjithë krahinës malore të Izraelit; Jozueu vendosi shfarosjen e tyre të plotë bashkë me qytetet e tyre.

At that time Joshua went and killed the big powerful men in the hill country. He killed them in Hebron, Debir, Anab, and all the hill country of Judah and Israel. Joshua destroyed all of them with their cities.

22 N uk mbetën më Anakitë në vendin e bijve të Izraelit; mbetën disa prej tyre vetëm në Gaza, në Gath dhe në Ashod.

There were no big powerful men left in the land of the people of Israel. Some were left only in Gaza, Gath and Ashdod.

23 K ështu Jozueu shtiu në dorë tërë vendin, pikërisht ashtu siç i kishte thënë Zoti Moisiut; Jozueu ia la pastaj si trashëgim Izraelit, simbas ndarjeve të tyre në fise. Dhe kështu vendi pati një pushim nga lufta.

So Joshua took the whole land, just as the Lord had told Moses. And Joshua gave it as a gift to Israel, a share for each family group. Then the land had rest from war.
