Then the family heads of the Levites came to Eleazar the religious leader, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the family groups of Israel.

2 d he u folën në Shilon, në vendin e Kanaanit, duke u thënë: "Zoti urdhëroi, me anë të Moisiut, që të na jepeshin disa qytete për të banuar me kullota për bagëtinë tonë".

They said to them at Shiloh in Canaan, “The Lord said through Moses to give us cities to live in, as well as fields around them for our cattle.”

3 K ështu bijtë e Izraelit u dhanë Levitëve, duke i marrë nga trashëgimia e tyre, qytetet që vijojnë bashkë me toka për kullotë, simbas urdhrit të Zotit.

So the sons of Israel gave these cities and fields of their land to the Levites, as the Lord had said.

4 U hodh shorti për familjet e Kehathitëve; dhe bijve të priftit Aaron, që ishin Levitë, u ranë në short trembëdhjetë qytete nga fisi i Judës, nga fisi i Simeonit dhe nga fisi i Beniaminit.

The name drawn first was for the families of the Kohathites. The Levites who were children of Aaron the religious leader received thirteen cities from the families of Judah, Simeon and Benjamin.

The sons of Gershon by drawing names received thirteen cities from the families of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali and the half-family group of Manasseh in Bashan.

7 B ijve të Merarit, simbas familjeve të tyre, u ranë dymbëdhjetë qytete nga fisi i Rubenit, nga fisi i Gadit dhe nga fisi i Zabulonit.

The sons of Merari received twelve cities from the families of Reuben, Gad and Zebulun.

8 B ijtë e Izraelit ua dhanë, pra, me short këto qytete me gjithë kullotat e tyre Levitëve, ashtu si kishte urdhëruar Zoti me anë të Moisiut.

The sons of Israel by drawing names gave these cities with their fields to the Levites, as the Lord had said through Moses.

They gave from the families of Judah and Simeon the cities given here by name.

They were for the sons of Aaron, one of the families of the Kohathites, of the sons of Levi. For their name was drawn first.

11 A ta morën, pra, Kirjath-Arbën, domethënë Hebronin (Arba ishte ati i Anakut), në krahinën malore të Judës, me tokat e saj për kullotë rreth e qark;

They gave them Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) with the fields around it in the hill country of Judah. (Arba was the father of Anak.)

So to the sons of Aaron the religious leader they gave Hebron and Libnah with their fields. Hebron was the city where one who killed a man could go to be safe.

14 J atirin me tokat për kullotë, Eshtemoan me tokat për kullotë,

And they gave them Jattir with its fields, Eshtemoa with its fields,

15 H olonin me tokat për kullotë, Debirin me tokat për kullotë,

Holon with its fields, Debir with its fields,

16 A inin me tokat e tij për kullotë, Jutahun me tokat e tij për kullotë dhe Beth-Shemeshin me tokat e tij për kullotë: nëntë qytete që u morën nga këto dy fise.

Ain with its fields, Juttah with its fields, and Bethshemesh with its fields. There were nine cities from these two family groups.

From the family of Benjamin were given Gibeon with its fields, Geba with its fields,

For the sons of Aaron, the religious leaders, there were thirteen cities in all, with their fields.

20 F amiljeve të bijve të Kehathëve, domethënë Levitëve që mbeteshin, bij të Kehathit, u ranë qytete që u morën nga fisi i Efraimit.

Then cities from the family of Ephraim were given to the rest of the families of the people of Kohath, the Levites.

21 A tyre iu dha Sikemi (si qytet për strehimin e vrasësit) me gjithë tokat për kullotë në krahinën malore të Efraimit, Gezeri me gjithë tokat për kullotë,

They gave them Shechem with its fields in the hill country of Ephraim. A man who killed another person could run to Shechem to be safe. And they gave them Gezer with its fields,

Kibzaim with its fields, and Beth-horon with its fields, four cities.

From the family of Dan were given Eletke with its fields, Gibbethon with its fields,

24 A ijaloni me gjithë tokat për kullotë, Gath-Rimoni me gjithë tokat për kullotë: katër qytete.

From the half-family group of Manasseh were given Taanach with its fields, and Gathrimmon with its fields, two cities.

33 S huma e qyteteve të Gershonitëve, simbas familjeve të tyre, ishte trembëdhjetë qytete me tokat e tyre për kullotë.

The cities for the families of the Gershonites were thirteen in all, with their fields.

34 F amiljeve të bijve të Merarit, domethënë Levitëve të tjerë, iu dhanë, duke i marrë nga fisi i Zabulonit, Jokneamin me tokat e tij për kullotë, Kartahin me tokat e tij për kullotë,

They gave cities to the families of the sons of Merari, the rest of the Levites, from the family of Zebulun. They gave them Jokneam with its fields, Kartah with its fields,

35 D imnahun me tokat e tij për kullotë dhe Nahalalin me tokat e tij për kullotë: katër qytete;

Dimnah with its fields, and Nahalal with its fields, four cities.

36 n ga fisi i Rubenit, Betserin me tokat e tij për kullotë, Jatsahun me tokat e tij për kullotë,

From the family of Reuben were given Bezer with its fields, Jahaz with its fields,

37 K edmothin me tokat e tij për kullotë dhe Mefaathin me tokat e tij për kullotë: katër qytete;

Kedemoth with its fields, and Mephaath with its fields, four cities.

38 d he nga fisi i Gadit, Ramothin në Galaad (si qytet strehimi për vrasësin), me tokat e tij për kullotë, Mahanaimin me tokat e tij për kullotë,

From the family of Gad was given Ramoth in Gilead with its fields. A man who killed another person could run to Ramoth in Gilead to be safe. And they gave them Mahanaim with its fields,

39 H eshbonin me tokat e tij për kullotë dhe Jazerin me tokat e tij për kullotë: gjithsejt katër qytete.

Heshbon with its fields, and Jazer with its fields, four cities in all.

40 S huma e qyteteve që iu dhanë me short bijve të Merarit, simbas familjeve të tyre që përbënin familjet e Levitëve të tjerë, ishin dymbëdhjetë qytete.

There were twelve cities in all given to the families of the people of Merari, the rest of the families of the Levites.

41 S huma e qyteteve të Levitëve në mes të zotërimeve të bijve të Izraelit ishte dyzet qytete me tokat e tyre për kullotë.

The cities of the Levites among the land of the people of Israel were forty-eight cities in all, with their fields.

42 S ecili nga këto qytete kishte rreth e qark toka për kullotë; e njëjta gjë ishte në çdo qytet.

Each one of these cities had its fields around it. So it was with all these cities.

43 K ështu Zoti i dha Izraelit tërë vendin që ishte betuar t’ua jepte etërve të tyre, dhe bijtë e Izraelit e pushtuan dhe banuan në të.

The Lord gave Israel all the land He had promised to give to their fathers. They took it for their own, and lived in it.

44 Z oti u siguroi pushim rreth e qark, siç u ishte betuar etërve të tyre; asnjë nga armiqtë e tyre nuk mundi t’u bëjë ballë; Zoti i dorëzoi tërë armiqtë në duart e tyre.

The Lord gave them peace on every side, just as He had promised their fathers. Not one of all those who hated them could stand in front of them. The Lord gave all those who hated them into their hand.

45 N uk ra për tokë asnjë nga fjalët që Zoti i pati thënë shtëpisë së Izraelit; të tëra u vërtetuan.

Every good promise which the Lord had made to the people of Israel came true.
