1 N ë atë kohë Herodi, tetrarku, mori vesh famën e Jezusit,

At that time King Herod heard much about Jesus.

2 d he u tha shërbëtorëve të vet: “Ky është Gjon Pagëzori; ai u ngjall së vdekuri dhe prandaj fuqitë e mbinatyrshme veprojnë në të.”

He said to his helpers, “This must be John the Baptist. He has risen from the dead. That is why these powerful works are done by him.”

3 H erodi, në fakt, e kishte arrestuar Gjonin, i kishte hedhur prangat dhe e kishte futur në burg, për shkak të Herodiadës, gruas së Filipit, vëllait të vet.

For Herod had taken John and put him in prison. It was because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip.

4 S epse Gjoni i thoshte: “Nuk është e lejueshme të bashkëjetosh me të!.”

For John had said to him, “It is against the Law for you to have her.”

5 D he, ndonëse donte ta vriste, Herodi kishte frikë nga populli që e konsideronte Gjonin profet.

He would have killed John but he was afraid of the people. The people thought John was one who spoke for God. John the Baptist Is Killed

6 K ur po festohej ditëlindja e Herodit, e bija e Herodiadës vallëzoi përpara tij dhe i pëlqeu Herodit

On Herod’s birthday the daughter of Herodias danced in front of them. Herod was made happy by her.

7 a q shumë, sa ai i premtoi asaj me betim se do t’i jepte çfarëdo që t’i kërkonte.

He promised he would give her anything she asked.

8 D he ajo, e shtyrë nga e ëma, tha: “Ma jep këtu, mbi një pjatë, kokën e Gjon Pagëzorit.”

Because her mother told her to do it, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist on a plate.”

9 M bretit i erdhi keq, po për shkak të betimit dhe të ftuarve që ishin me të në tryezë, urdhëroi që t’ia japin.

The king was sorry. But he said for it to be given because he had promised and because of those who were eating with him.

10 K ështu dërgoi dikë për t’i prerë kokën Gjon Pagëzorit në burg;

He sent to the prison and had John’s head cut off.

11 d he kokën e tij e prunë mbi një pjatë dhe ia dhanë vajzës; ajo ia çoi s’ëmës.

It was brought in on a plate and given to the girl. She brought it to her mother.

12 P astaj erdhën dishepujt e tij, e morën trupin dhe e varrosën, mandej ata shkuan dhe ia treguan ngjarjen Jezusit.

Then the followers of John came and took his body and buried it. They went and told Jesus. The Feeding of the Five Thousand

13 K ur Jezusi i dëgjoi këto, u nis që andej me një barkë dhe u tërhoq në vetmi, në një vend të shkretë. Dhe turmat, kur e morën vesh, e ndiqnin në këmbë nga qytetet.

When Jesus heard that John had been killed, He went from there by boat to a desert. He wanted to be alone. When the people knew it, they followed after Him by land from the cities.

14 D he Jezusi, kur doli nga barka, pa një turmë të madhe, pati dhembshuri për të dhe shëroi ata që ishin të sëmurë.

When He got out of the boat, He saw many people. He had loving-pity for them and healed those who were sick.

15 P astaj në mbrëmje dishepujt e tij iu afruan dhe i thanë: “Ky vend është i shkretë dhe u bë vonë; lejo turmat të shkojnë nëpër fshatra për të blerë ushqime.”

When it was evening, His followers came to Him. They said, “This is a desert. The day is past. Send the people away so they may go into the towns and buy food for themselves.”

16 P or Jezusi u tha atyre: “Nuk është nevoja të shkojnë; u jepni juve të hanë.”

Jesus said to them, “They do not have to go away. Give them something to eat.”

17 D he ata i thanë: “Ne këtu nuk kemi tjetër përveç pesë bukë dhe dy peshq.”

They said to Him, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish.”

18 D he ai u tha: “M’i sillni këtu.”

Jesus said, “Bring them to Me.”

19 A tëherë i urdhëroi që turmat të ulen mbi bar; pastaj i mori pesë bukët dhe dy peshqit dhe, pasi i çoi sytë drejt qiellit, i bekoi; i ndau bukët dhe ua dha dishepujve, dhe dishepujt turmave.

He told the people to sit down on the grass. Then He took the five loaves of bread and two fish. He looked up to heaven and gave thanks. He broke the loaves in pieces and gave them to His followers. The followers gave them to the people.

20 D he të gjithë hëngrën dhe u ngopën; pastaj dishepujt mblodhën tepricat në dymbëdhjetë kosha plot.

They all ate and were filled. They picked up twelve baskets full of pieces of bread and fish after the people were finished eating.

21 D he ata që hëngrën ishin rreth pesë mijë burra, pa i numëruar gratë dhe fëmijët.

About five thousand men ate. Women and children ate also. Jesus Walks on the Water

22 F ill pas kësaj Jezusi i detyroi dishepujt e vet të hyjnë në barkë dhe t’i prijnë në bregun tjetër, deri sa ai t’i lëshojë turmat.

At once Jesus had His followers get into the boat. He told them to go ahead of Him to the other side while He sent the people away.

23 M basi i nisi ato, u ngjit vetëm mbi mal për t’u lutur. Dhe kur u ngrys ai gjëndej aty, i vetëm fare.

After He had sent them away, He went up the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone.

24 N dërkaq barka ndodhej në mes të detit; dhe përplasej nga valët sepse era i ishte e kundërt.

By this time the boat was far from land and was being thrown around by the waves. The wind was strong against them.

25 N ë rojën e katërt të natës, Jezusi shkoi drejt tyre, duke ecur mbi det.

Just before the light of day, Jesus went to them walking on the water.

26 D ishepujt duke parë atë që po ecte mbi det, u trembën dhe thanë: “Éshtë një fantazmë!.” Dhe filluan të bërtasin nga frika;

When the followers saw Him walking on the water, they were afraid. They said, “It is a spirit.” They cried out with fear.

27 p or menjëherë Jezusi u foli atyre duke thënë: “Qetësohuni; jam unë, mos kini frikë!.”

At once Jesus spoke to them and said, “Take hope. It is I. Do not be afraid!”

28 D he Pjetri, duke u përgjigjur tha: “Zot, nëse je ti, më urdhëro të vij te ti mbi ujëra.”

Peter said to Jesus, “If it is You, Lord, tell me to come to You on the water.”

29 A i tha: “Eja!.” Dhe Pjetri zbriti nga barka dhe eci mbi ujëra, për të shkuar te Jezusi.

Jesus said, “Come!” Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water to Jesus.

30 P or, duke parë erën e fortë, kishte frikë, dhe duke filluar të fundosej, bërtiti duke thënë: “O Zot, shpëtomë!.”

But when he saw the strong wind, he was afraid. He began to go down in the water. He cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 D he Jezusi ia zgjati menjëherë dorën, e zuri dhe i tha: “O njeri besimpak, pse dyshove?.”

At once Jesus put out His hand and took hold of him. Jesus said to Peter, “You have so little faith! Why did you doubt?”

32 P astaj, kur hynë në barkë, era pushoi.

When Jesus and Peter got into the boat, the wind stopped blowing.

33 A tëherë ata që ishin në barkë erdhën dhe e adhuruan, duke thënë: “Me të vërtetë ti je Biri i Perëndisë!.”

Those in the boat worshiped Jesus. They said, “For sure, You are the Son of God!” People Are Healed at Gennesaret

34 P astaj, mbasi dolën në bregun tjetër, erdhën në krahinën e Gjenezaretit.

When they had gone over to the other side, they came to the land of Gennesaret.

35 D he njerëzit e atij vendi, sapo e njohën, e përhapën fjalën në gjithë krahinën përreth; dhe i sollën të gjithë të sëmurët;

When the men of that land saw it was Jesus, they sent word into all the country around. They brought all who were sick to Jesus.

36 d he iu lutën që të mund t’i preknin të paktën cepin e rrobes së tij; dhe të gjithë ata që e prekën u shëruan plotësisht.

They begged Him that they might touch the bottom of His coat. As many as touched the bottom of His coat were healed.
