1 K ur tërë populli mbaroi së kapërcyeri Jordanin, Zoti i foli Jozueut, duke i thënë:

When all the nation had crossed the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua,

2 " Merrni nga radhët e popullit dymbëdhjetë burra, një për çdo fis,

“Choose twelve men from the people, one man from each family.

3 d he u jepni këtë urdhër, duke thënë: "Merrni dymbëdhjetë gurë që këtej, në mes të Jordanit, pikërisht në vendin ku u ndalën këmbët e priftërinjve, i merrni, me vete matanë lumit dhe i vendosni në vendin ku do të strehoheni sonte"".

Tell them, ‘Take twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan. Take them from the place where the religious leaders’ feet are standing. Carry them over with you, and lay them down in the place where you stay tonight.’”

4 A tëherë Jozueu thirri dymbëdhjetë burrat që kishte zgjedhur ndër bijtë e Izraelit, një për çdo fis,

So Joshua called the twelve men he had chosen from the sons of Israel, one man from each family.

5 d he u tha atyre: "Kaloni para arkës së Zotit, Perëndisë tuaj, në mes të Jordanit, dhe secili prej jush të mbajë në kurriz një gur, simbas numrit të fiseve të bijve të Izraelit,

And Joshua said to them, “Go into the middle of the Jordan in front of the special box of the agreement of the Lord your God. Each of you take a stone on his shoulder, one for each of the twelve family groups of Israel.

6 m e qëllim që kjo të jetë një shenjë midis jush. Kur në të ardhmen bijtë tuaj do t’ju pyesin, duke thënë: "Ç’janë për ju këta gurë?,"

Let this be something special among you. Your children will ask you later, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’

7 j u do t’u përgjigjeni kështu: "Ujërat e Jordanit u ndanë para arkës së besëlidhjes të Zotit; kur ajo kaloi Jordanin, ujërat e tij u ndanë dhe këta gurë do të jenë për bijtë e Izraelit një kujtim për jetë"".

Then you will tell them that the water of the Jordan was cut off before the special box of the agreement of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the water of the Jordan was cut off. So these stones will become something to remember to the people of Israel forever.”

8 B ijtë e Izraelit bënë pikërisht ashtu si i kishte urdhëruar Jozueu: morën dymbëdhjetë gurë në mes të Jordanit, ashtu si e kishte porositur Zoti Jozueun, në bazë të numrit të fiseve të Izraelit, dhe i morën me vete matanë lumit në vendin ku do të kalonin natën, dhe i vendosën aty.

The sons of Israel did as Joshua told them. They took up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, just as the Lord told Joshua. There was one stone for each family group of the sons of Israel. They carried them over with them to the place where they stayed, and put them down there.

9 J ozueu ngriti gjithashtu dymbëdhjetë gurë në mes të Jordanit, në vendin ku ishin ndalur këmbët e priftërinjve që mbanin arkën e besëlidhjes; dhe aty kanë mbetur deri më sot.

Then Joshua set up twelve stones at the place where the feet of the religious leaders who carried the special box of the agreement were standing in the middle of the Jordan. They are there to this day.

10 P riftërinjtë që mbanin arkën u ndalën në mes të Jordanit deri sa u plotësua tërësisht ajo që i kishte urdhëruar Zoti Jozueut t’i thoshte popullit, në bazë të të gjitha atyre që Moisiu i kishte urdhëruar Jozueut. Dhe populli u nxitua të kalojë lumin.

The religious leaders who carried the special box of the agreement stood in the middle of the Jordan. They stood there until everything was finished that the Lord told Joshua to tell the people, all that Moses had told Joshua. The people crossed in a hurry.

11 K ur tërë populli mbaroi së kaluari, arka e Zotit dhe priftërinjtë kaluan në prani të popullit.

When all the people were over, they watched the religious leaders carry the special box of the agreement to the other side.

12 B ijtë e Rubenit, bijtë e Gadit dhe gjysma e fisit të Manasit kaluan të armatosur në krye të bijve të Izraelit, ashtu siç u kishte thënë Moisiu.

The sons of Reuben and Gad and the half-family group of Manasseh crossed over ready for battle before the people of Israel, just as Moses had told them.

13 R reth dyzet mijë njerëz me veshje lufte kaluan para Zotit në fushat e Jerikos, gati për të luftuar.

About 40, 000 soldiers ready for battle crossed before the Lord to the desert plains of Jericho.

14 P o atë ditë, Zoti e bëri të madh Jozueun në sytë e tërë Izraelit, dhe banorët e tij patën frikë nga ai ashtu si patën frikë nga Moisiu gjatë gjithë ditëve të jetës së tij.

On that day the Lord gave Joshua honor in the eyes of all Israel. So they honored him as a great man just as they had honored Moses all the days of his life.

15 P astaj Zoti i foli Jozueut dhe i tha:

The Lord said to Joshua,

16 " Urdhëro priftërinjtë që mbajnë arkën e Dëshmisë të dalin nga Jordani".

“Tell the religious leaders who carry the special box of the agreement to come up from the Jordan.”

17 A tëherë Jozueu urdhëroi priftërinjtë duke u thënë: "Dilni nga Jordani".

So Joshua told the religious leaders to come up from the Jordan.

18 D he ndodhi që kur priftërinjtë që mbanin arkën e besëlidhjes së Zotit, dolën nga Jordani dhe tabanët e këmbëve të tyre shkelën tokën e thatë, ujërat e Jordanit u kthyen në vendin e tyre dhe filluan të rrjedhin si më parë në lartësinë e brigjeve të tij.

The religious leaders who carried the special box of the agreement of the Lord came up from the middle of the Jordan. When their feet stepped on dry ground, the water of the Jordan returned to its place. It flowed over its sides as before.

19 P opulli doli nga Jordani ditën e dhjetë të muajit të parë dhe ngriti kampin e tij në Gilgal, në skajin lindor të Jerikos.

The people came up from the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month. Then they stayed at Gilgal on the east side of Jericho.

20 A ta dymbëdhjetë gurë që i kishin marrë nga Jordani, Jozueu i çoi në Gilgal.

Joshua set up at Gilgal the twelve stones they had taken from the Jordan.

21 P astaj u foli bijve të Izraelit dhe u tha atyre: "Kur në të ardhmen bijtë tuaj do t’i pyesin etërit e tyre duke thënë: "Ç’janë këta gurë?,"

He said to the people of Israel, “Your children will ask their fathers some time in the future, ‘What do these stones mean?’

22 j u do t’ua bëni të ditur bijve tuaj, duke thënë: "Izraeli e kaloi këtë Jordan në të thatë,

Then let your children know that Israel crossed this Jordan on dry ground.

23 s epse Zoti, Perëndia juaj, i thau ujërat e Jordanit para jush deri sa të kalonit, ashtu si Zoti, Perëndia juaj, veproi në Detin e Kuq, të cilin e thau para nesh deri sa të kalonim,

For the Lord your God dried up the water of the Jordan before you until you had crossed. It was just as the Lord your God had done to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed.

24 m e qëllim që tërë popujt e tokës të pranojnë që Zoti ka dorë të fuqishme, dhe që ju të keni gjithnjë frikë nga Zoti, Perëndia juaj"". i Pashkës

Now all the people of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is powerful, so that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”
