1 D he Jezusi, nisi përsëri t’u flasë atyre me shëmbëlltyra, duke thënë:

Again Jesus spoke to them in picture-stories. He said,

2 “ Mbretëria e qiejve i ngjan një mbreti, i cili përgatiti dasmën e të birit.

“The holy nation of heaven is like a king who gave a wedding supper for his son.

3 D he dërgoi shërbëtorët e vet për të thirrur të ftuarit në dasmë, por ata nuk deshën të vijnë.

He sent his servants to tell the people, who had been asked, to come to the supper. But the people did not want to come.

4 D ërgoi përsëri shërbëtorë të tjerë duke thënë: "U thoni të ftuarve: Ja unë e kam shtruar drekën time, viçat e mi dhe bagëtia ime e majmur janë therur dhe gjithçka është gati; ejani në dasmë".

“He sent other servants, saying to them, ‘Tell those who have been asked to come, “See! My supper is ready. My cows and fat calves are killed. Everything is ready. Come to the wedding supper!”’

5 P or ata, pa e përfillur, shkuan: dikush në arën e vet e dikush në punët e veta.

But they did not listen and went on working. One went to his farm. Another went to his store.

6 D he të tjerët, mbasi kapën shërbëtorët e tij, i shanë dhe i vranë.

The others took hold of his servants, and hurt them and killed them.

7 M breti atëhërë, kur dëgjoi këtë, u zemërua dhe dërgoi ushtritë e veta për të shfarosur ata gjaksorë dhe dogji qytetin e tyre.

“When the king heard this, he was very angry. He sent his soldiers to put those to death who had killed his servants. He burned their city.

8 A tëherë u tha shërbëtorëve të vet: "Dasma është gati, por të ftuarit nuk ishin të denjë.

Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding supper is ready. Those who were asked to come to the supper were not good enough.

9 S hkoni, pra, në udhëkryqe dhe ftoni në dasmë këdo që të gjeni."

Go out into the roads and as many people as you can find, ask them to come to the wedding supper.’

10 D he ata shërbëtorët dolën nëpër rrugë, mblodhën të gjithë ata që gjetën, të këqij dhe të mirë, dhe vendi i dasmës u mbush me të ftuar.

“The servants went out into the roads and brought all they could find, both bad and good. The wedding supper room was full of people.

11 A tëherë mbreti hyri për të parë të ftuarit dhe gjeti aty një njeri që nuk kishte veshur rrobë dasme;

The king came in to see those who had come. He saw one man who did not have on wedding supper clothes.

12 d he i tha: "Mik, si hyre këtu pa pasur rrobë dasme?". Dhe ai mbylli gojën.

He said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without wedding supper clothes?’ The man could not speak!

13 A tëherë mbreti u tha shërbëtorëve: "Lidheni duar dhe këmbë, kapeni dhe hidheni në errësirat e jashtme. Atje do të jetë e qara dhe kërcëllim dhëmbësh".

Then the king said to his servants, ‘Tie his hands and feet, and throw him out into the darkness. In that place there will be loud crying and grinding of teeth.’

14 S epse shumë janë të thirrur, por pak janë të zgjedhur.”

For many are called but few are chosen.” The Proud Religious Law-Keepers Try to Trap Jesus

15 A tëherë farisenjtë u veçuan dhe bënin këshill se si ta zinin gabim në fjalë.

Then the proud religious law-keepers got together to think how they could trap Jesus in His talk.

16 D he i dërguan dishepujt e tyre bashkë me herodianët, për t’i thënë: “Mësues, ne e dimë se ti je i vërtetë dhe që mëson udhën e Perëndisë në të vërtetë, pa marrë parasysh njeri, sepse ti nuk shikon pamjen e jashtme të njerëzve.

They sent their followers to Jesus with some of King Herod’s men. They asked, “Teacher, we know that You are true. We know that You are teaching the truth about God. We know You are not afraid of what men think or say about You.

17 N a thuaj, pra: Si e mendon? A është e ligjshme t’i paguhet taksa Cezarit apo jo?.”

Tell us what You think of this. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

18 P or Jezusi, duke e njohur ligësinë e tyre, tha: “Pse më tundoni, o hipokritë?

Jesus knew their sinful thoughts and said, “You pretend to be someone you are not! Why do you try to trap Me?

19 M ë tregoni monedhën e taksës.” Atëherë ata i treguan një denar.

Show Me a piece of money.” They brought Him a piece.

20 D he ai u tha atyre: “E kujt është kjo fytyrë dhe ky mbishkrim?.”

Jesus said to them, “Whose picture is this? Whose name is on it?”

21 A ta i thanë: “E Cezarit.” Atëherë ai u tha atyre: “Jepni, pra, Cezarit atë që i përket Cezarit dhe Perëndisë atë që i përket Perëndisë.”

They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” Then He said to them, “Pay to Caesar the things that belong to Caesar. Pay to God the things that belong to God.”

22 D he ata, kur e dëgjuan këtë, u mrekulluan, e lanë, dhe ikën.

When they heard this, they were surprised and wondered about it. Then they went away from Him. They Ask about Being Raised from the Dead

23 P o atë ditë erdhën tek ai saducenjtë, të cilët thonë se nuk ka ringjallje, dhe e pyetën

The same day some people from the religious group who believe no one will be raised from the dead came to Jesus. They asked,

24 d uke thënë: “Mësues, Moisiu ka thënë: "Në se dikush vdes pa lënë fëmijë, i vëllai le të martohet me gruan e tij, për t’i lindur trashëgimtarë vëllait të tij.

“Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man should die without having children, then his brother must marry his wife. He should have children for his brother.’

25 T ani ndër ne ishin shtatë vëllezër; i pari u martua dhe vdiq dhe duke mos pasë trashëgimtarë, ia la gruan vëllait të vet.

There were seven brothers with us. The first was married but died before he had any children. The second brother then married the first brother’s wife.

26 K ështu edhe i dyti dhe i treti, deri tek i shtati.

The second brother died and the same with the third and on to the seventh.

27 N ë fund vdiq edhe gruaja.

Then the woman died also.

28 N ë ringjallje, pra, e kujt nga këta të shtatë do të jetë grua? Sepse të gjithë e patën gruaja.”

When people are raised from the dead, whose wife will she be of the seven? They all had her for a wife.”

29 P or Jezusi, duke u përgjigjur u tha atyre: “Ju bëni gabim, sepse nuk e kuptoni as Shkrimin as pushtetin e Perëndisë.

Jesus said to them, “You are wrong because you do not know the Holy Writings or the power of God.

30 N ë ringjallje, pra, as martohen as martojnë, por ata do të jenë në qiell si engjëjt e Perëndisë.

After people are raised from the dead, they do not marry. They are like the angels in heaven.

31 P astaj sa për ringjalljen e të vdekurve, a nuk e keni lexuar ç’ju ishte thënë nga Perëndia kur thotë:

Have you not read what God said to you about those who are raised from the dead? He said,

32 " Unë jam Perëndia i Abrahamit, Perëndia i Isakut dhe i Jakobit"? Perëndia nuk është Perëndia i të vdekurve, por i të gjallëve.”

‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.’ He is not the God of the dead but of the living!”

33 D he turmat, kur i dëgjuan këto gjëra, habiteshin nga doktrina e tij.

When the people heard this, they were surprised and wondered about His teaching. The Great Law

34 A tëherë farisenjtë, kur dëgjuan se ai ua kishte zënë gojën saducenjve, u mblodhën tok.

The proud religious law-keepers got together when they heard that the religious group of people who believe no one will be raised from the dead were not able to talk anymore to Jesus.

35 D he një nga ata, mësues i ligjit, e pyeti për të vënë në provë, duke thënë:

A proud religious law-keeper who knew the Law tried to trap Jesus. He said,

36 “ Mësues, cili është urdhërimi i madh i ligjit?.”

“Teacher, which one is the greatest of the Laws?”

37 D he Jezusi i tha: “"Duaje Zotin, Perëndinë tënde me gjithë zemrën tënde, me gjithë shpirtin tënd dhe me gjithë mendjen tënde".

Jesus said to him, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

38 K y është urdhërimi i parë dhe i madhi.

This is the first and greatest of the Laws.

39 D he i dyti, i ngjashëm me këtë, është: "Duaje të afërmin tënd porsi vetveten".

The second is like it, ‘You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.’

40 N ga këto dy urdhërime varet i tërë ligji dhe profetët.”

All the Laws and the writings of the early preachers depend on these two most important Laws.”

41 T ani, kur u mblodhën farisenjtë, Jezusi i pyeti:

The proud religious law-keepers were gathered together. Then Jesus asked,

42 “ Ç’u duket juve për Krishtin? Biri i kujt është?.” Ata i thanë: “I Davidit.”

“What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?” They said to Him, “The Son of David.”

43 A i u tha atyre: “Si pra Davidi, në Frymë, e quan Zot, duke thënë:

Jesus said to them, “Then how is it that David, being led by the Holy Spirit, calls Him ‘Lord’? He said,

44 " Zoti i ka thënë Zotit tim: Ulu në të djathtën time, deri sa unë t’i vë armiqtë e tu si stol të këmbëve të tua"?

‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right side until I make those who hate You a place to rest Your feet.”’

45 N ë qoftë se Davidi e quan Zot, si mund të jetë biri i tij?.”

If David calls Him ‘Lord,’ then how can He be the Son of David?”

46 P or asnjë nuk ishte në gjendje t’i përgjigjej; dhe, që nga ajo ditë, askush nuk guxoi ta pyesë më.

No one could answer a word, and after that day no one asked Him anything.
