1 N dërkaq po afrohej festa e të Ndormëve, që quhet Pashkë.

The time for the supper of bread without yeast was near. It was the special religious gathering to remember how the Jews left Egypt.

2 D he krerët e priftërinjve e skribët kërkonin mënyrën se si ta vrisnin, sepse kishin frikë nga populli.

The religious leaders and the teachers of the Law looked for a way to kill Jesus. But they were afraid of the people.

3 A tëherë Satani hyri në Judën, i mbiquajtur Iskariot, që ishte një nga të dymbëdhjetët.

Then Satan came into the heart of Judas who was called Iscariot. He was one of the twelve followers.

4 K ështu ai shkoi të merret vesh me krerët e priftërinjve e dhe me krerët e rojës për mënyrën se si do ta tradhtonte.

Judas went away and talked with the religious leaders and the leaders of the people. He talked about how he might hand Jesus over to them.

5 A ta u gëzuan dhe i premtuan t’i japin para.

They were glad and promised to pay him money.

6 D he ai pranoi dhe kërkonte rastin e volitshëm për t’ua dorëzuar pa qenë e pranishme turma.

Judas promised to do this and then looked for a way to hand Jesus over when there were no people around. Getting Ready for the Special Supper

7 T ani erdhi dita e të Ndormëve, kur duhet therur flijimi i Pashkës.

The day of bread without yeast came. It was the day when the lamb had to be killed and given on the altar in worship in the house of God. It was the special religious gathering to remember how the Jews left Egypt.

8 D he Jezusi dërgoi Pjetrin dhe Gjonin duke u thënë: “Shkoni e na bëni gati Pashkën, që ne ta hamë.”

Jesus sent Peter and John and said, “Go and get this special supper ready for us that we may eat.”

9 D he ata e thanë: “Ku dëshiron ta përgatisim?.”

They said to Him, “Where do You want us to get it ready?”

10 A tëherë ai tha atyre: “Ja, kur të hyni në qytet, do t’ju dalë përpara një njeri që mban një brokë uji; ndiqeni në shtëpinë ku ai do të hyjë.

He answered, “See, when you go into the city, you will meet a man carrying a jar of water. Follow him into the house where he goes.

11 I thoni të zotit të shtëpisë: "Mësuesi të çon fjalë: Ku është salla, në të cilën mund të ha Pashkën bashkë me dishepujt e mi?".

Say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks you, “Where is the room you keep for friends where I may eat this special supper with My followers?”’

12 A tëherë ai do t’ju tregojë një sallë të madhe të shtruar; aty do të bëni përgatitjet.”

He will take you to a large room on the second floor with everything in it. Make it ready for us.”

13 A ta shkuan, pra, dhe gjetën ashtu siç u tha dhe përgatitën Pashkën.

They went and found everything as Jesus had said. They got ready for the special supper. The First Lord’s Supper

14 D he, kur erdhi ora, ai u ul në tryezë dhe bashkëmetë dymbëdhjetë apostujt.

When the time came, Jesus sat down with the twelve followers.

15 A tëherë ai u tha atyre: “Kam pasur dëshirë të madhe ta ha këtë Pashkë bashkë me ju, para se të vuaj,

He said to them, “I have wanted very much to eat this special supper with you to remember how the Jews left Egypt. I have wanted to eat this with you before I suffer.

16 s epse po ju them se nuk do të ha më të tillë derisa ajo të plotësohet në mbretërinë e Perëndisë.”

I say to you, I will not eat this special supper again until its true meaning is completed in the holy nation of God.”

17 P astaj mori kupën, falenderoi, dhe tha: “Merrnie këtë dhe ndanie midis jush,

Then Jesus took the cup and gave thanks. He said, “Take this and pass it to each one.

18 s epse unë po ju them se nuk do të pi më nga fryti i hardhisë derisa të vijë mbretëria e Perëndisë.”

I say to you that I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the holy nation of God comes.”

19 P astaj mori bukën, falënderoi, e theu dhe ua dha atyre duke thënë: “Ky është trupi im, që është dhënë për ju; bëni këtë në përkujtimin tim.”

Then Jesus took bread and gave thanks and broke it in pieces. He gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you. Do this to remember Me.”

20 P o kështu, pas darkës, mori kupën duke thënë: “Kjo kupë është besëlidhja e re në gjakun tim, që është derdhur për ju.

In the same way, after they had finished the bread, He took the cup. He said, “This cup is My blood of the New Way of Worship which is given for you. Jesus Tells of the One Who Will Hand Him Over

21 P or ja, dora e atij që më tradhton është me mua mbi tryezë.

“See, the hand of the one who will give Me over to the leaders of the country is on the table with Me.

22 S igurisht Biri i njeriut shkon, siç është caktuar, por mjerë ai njeri me anë të cilit është tradhëtuar!.”

The Son of Man will be taken this way because it has been in God’s plan. But it is bad for that man who hands Him over!”

23 A tëherë ata filluan ta pyesin njëri-tjetrin se kush nga ata do ta bënte këtë gjë.

They began to ask each other which of them would do this. Arguing about Who Is the Greatest

24 D he midis tyre lindi edhe një grindje se cili nga ata duhej të konsiderohej më i madhi.

They started to argue among themselves about who was thought to be the greatest.

25 P or Jezusi u tha atyre: “Mbretërit e kombeve i sundojnë ato, dhe ata që ushtrojnë pushtet mbi to quhen bamirës.

Jesus said to them, “The kings of the nations show their power to the people. Those who have power over the people are given names of honor.

26 P or me ju mos qoftë kështu; madje më i madhi ndër ju le të jetë si më i vogli dhe ai që drejton si ai që shërben.

But you will not be like that. Let the greatest among you be as the least. Let the leader be as the one who cares for others.

27 N ë fakt kush është më i madh: ai që është në tryezë apo ai që shërben? Vallë, a s’është ai që rri në tryezë? E pra, unë jam midis jush porsi ai që shërben.

Who is greater, the one who is eating at the table, or the one who is caring for him? Is it not the one who is eating at the table? But I am here with you as One Who cares for you. The Followers Will Be Honored

28 J u jeni ata që qëndruat me mua në sprovat e mia.

“You have stayed with Me through all the hard things that have come to Me.

29 D he unë ju caktoj mbretërinë ashtu si ma ka caktuar mua Ati im,

As My Father has given Me a holy nation, I will give you the right

30 q ë ju të hani e të pini në tryezën time, në mbretërinë time, dhe të uleni mbi frone për të gjykuar të dymbëdhjetë fiset e Izraelit.

to eat and drink at My table in My holy nation. You will sit on thrones and judge the twelve family groups of the Jewish nation.” Jesus Tells How Peter Will Lie about Him

31 E dhe Zoti tha: “Simon, Simon, ja, Satani ka kërkuar t’ju shoshë ashtu siç shoshet gruri.

The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has wanted to have you. He will divide you as wheat is divided from that which is no good.

32 P or unë jam lutur për ty, që besimi yt të mos mpaket; dhe ti, kur të jesh kthyer, forco vëllezërit e tu.”

But I have prayed for you. I have prayed that your faith will be strong and that you will not give up. When you return, you must help to make your brothers strong.”

33 P or ai tha: “Zot, unë jam gati të shkoj bashkë me ty edhe në burg edhe në vdekje.”

Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison and to die with You!”

34 P or Jezusi tha: “Pjetër, unë të them se sot gjeli nuk do të këndojë, para se ti të kesh mohuar tri herë se më njeh.”

Jesus said, “I tell you, Peter, a rooster will not crow today before you will say three times that you do not know Me.” The Followers Are Told of Trouble to Come

35 P astaj u tha atyre: “Kur ju dërgova pa trasta, pa thes dhe pa sandale, vallë a ju mungoi gjë?.” Dhe ata thanë: “Asgjë.”

Jesus said to them, “I sent you without money or bag or shoes. Did you need anything?” They said, “Nothing.”

36 U tha, pra, atyre: “Po tani, kush ka një trastë le ta marrë me vete, dhe po kështu thesin; dhe kush nuk ka shpatë, le të shesë rrobën e vet e ta blejë një.

Then He said to them, “But now whoever has a money-bag and a bag for food should take it. Whoever does not have a sword should sell his coat and buy one.

37 S epse unë po ju them se çfarë është shkruar duhet të plotësohet ende në mua: "Dhe ai është radhitur ndër keqbërësit". Sepse ato gjëra që janë shkruar për mua do të kenë kryerjen e tyre.”

I tell you, that what has been written about Me must happen. It says, ‘They thought of Him as One Who broke the Law.’ What is told about Me must happen.”

38 A tëherë ata thanë: “Zot, ja këtu dy shpata.” Por ai u tha atyre “Mjaft!.”

They said, “Lord, look, we have two swords.” He answered, “That is enough.” Jesus Prays in the Garden

39 P astaj Jezusi doli dhe shkoi si zakonisht në malin e Ullinjve, dhe edhe dishepujt e tij e ndiqnin.

Jesus came out of the room. Then He went to the Mount of Olives as He had been doing. The followers went with Him.

40 K ur arriti në vend, u tha atyre: “Lutuni që të mos hyni në tundim.”

When He got there, He said to them, “Pray that you will not be tempted.”

41 D he u largua prej tyre, aq sa mund të hidhet një gur, dhe ra në gjunj dhe lutej,

He walked away from them about as far as a stone can be thrown. There He got down with His face on the ground and prayed.

42 d uke thënë: “O Atë, po të duash, largoje këtë kupë nga unë! Megjithatë mos u bëftë vullneti im, por yti.”

He said, “Father, if it can be done, take away what must happen to Me. Even so, not what I want, but what You want.”

43 A tëherë iu shfaq një engjëll nga qie-lli për t’i dhënë forcë.

An angel from heaven came and gave Him strength.

44 D he ai, duke qenë në agoni, lutej edhe më fort; dhe djersa e tij po i bëhej si gjak i mpiksur që bie për tokë.

His heart was much troubled and He prayed all the more. Water ran from His face like blood and fell to the ground.

45 S i u çua pastaj nga lutja, erdhi te dishepujt e vet dhe i gjeti që flinin nga trishtimi,

When Jesus got up after praying, He went back to the followers. He found them sleeping because of so much sorrow.

46 d he u tha atyre: “Pse po flini? Çohuni dhe lutuni që të mos hyni në tundim.”

He said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you will not be tempted.” Jesus Is Handed Over to Sinners

47 N dërsa ai ende po fliste, ja një turmë; dhe ai që quhej Judë, një nga të dymbëdhjetët, i printe dhe iu afrua Jezusit për ta puthur.

While Jesus was speaking, Judas came walking ahead of many people. He was one of the twelve followers. He came near to Jesus to kiss Him.

48 D he Jezusi i tha: “Judë, ti po e tradhton Birin e njeriut me një puthje?.”

But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you handing over the Son of Man with a kiss?”

49 A tëherë ata që ishin përreth tij, duke parë çfarë do të ndodhte, i thanë: “Zot, a t’u biem me shpatë?.”

Those around Jesus saw what was going to happen and asked, “Lord, should we fight with our swords?”

50 D he një nga ata i ra shërbëtorit të kryepriftit dhe ia preu veshin e djathtë.

One of them hit a servant who was owned by the head religious leader and cut off his right ear.

51 P or Jezusi, duke u përgjigjur, tha: “Lëreni, mjaft kështu.” Dhe si e preku veshin e atij njeriu, e shëroi.

Jesus said, “Stop! This is enough.” And He put His hand on his ear and healed him. Jesus Stands in Front of the Religious Leaders

52 P astaj Jezusi u tha krerëve të priftërinjve, krerëve të rojeve të tempullit dhe pleqve që kishin ardhur kundër tij: “Keni dalë kundër meje me shpata dhe me shkopinj si kundër një kusari?

Jesus said to the religious leaders and the leaders of the house of God and the other leaders who came to Him, “Have you come with swords and sticks to take Me, as if I were a robber?

53 K ur unë çdo ditë isha me ju në tempull, ju nuk vutë dorë kurrë mbi mua; por kjo është ora juaj dhe pushteti i errësirës.”

While I was with you everyday in the house of God, you never took hold of Me. But now is the time you are to come and you have come in the dark.”

54 M basi e kapën, e çuan dhe e shtinë në shtëpinë e kryepriftit. Dhe Pjetri e ndiqte nga larg.

Then they led Jesus away to the house of the head religious leader. Peter followed a long way behind Him. Peter Said He Did Not Know Jesus

55 K ur ata ndezën një zjarr në mes të oborrit dhe u ulën rreth tij, Pjetri u ul midis tyre.

They built a fire in the yard and sat down. Peter sat down with them.

56 N jë shërbëtore e pa ulur pranë zjarrit, e shikoi me vëmendje dhe tha: “Edhe ky ishte me të.”

One of the servant-girls saw Peter as he sat by the fire and looked right at him. She said, “This man was with Jesus also.”

57 P or ai e mohoi duke thënë: “O grua, nuk e njoh.”

Peter lied and said, “Woman, I do not know Him.”

58 P ak më vonë e pa një tjetër dhe tha: “Edhe ti je nga ata.” Por Pjetri tha: “O njeri, nuk jam.”

After awhile another person saw him and said, “You are one of them also.” Peter said, “No, sir, I am not.”

59 M basi kaloi rreth një orë, një tjetër pohoi me këmbëngulje duke thënë: “Në të vërtetë edhe ky ishte bashkë me të, sepse është Galileas.”

About an hour later another person said the same thing, “For sure, this man was with Jesus also because he is from Galilee.”

60 P or Pjetri tha: “O njeri, s’di ç’po thua.” Dhe menjëherë, ndërsa ai ende po fliste, këndoi gjeli.

But Peter said, “Sir, I do not know what you are saying.” And at once, while he was talking, a rooster crowed.

61 D he Zoti u kthye, dhe e shikoi Pjetrin. Dhe Pjetrit iu kujtua fjala që i kishte thënë Zoti: “Para se të këndojë gjeli, ti do të më mohosh tri herë.”

The Lord turned and looked at Peter. He remembered the Lord had said, “Before a rooster crows, you will say three times that you do not know Me.”

62 A tëherë Pjetri doli përjashta dhe qau me hidhërim.

Peter went outside and cried with a troubled heart.

63 N dërkaq njerëzit që e mbanin Jezusin e përqeshnin dhe e rrihnin.

Those who watched Jesus so He could not get away made fun of Him and beat Him.

64 D he, mbasi ia mbuluan sytë, i binin në fytyrë dhe e pyetnin duke thënë: Profetizo, kush është ai që të ra??".

They covered His eyes with a cloth and asked Him, “Tell us who hit You!”

65 D he duke blasfemuar thoshin shumë gjëra të tjera kundër tij.

They said many other bad things against Jesus.

66 D he, kur u bë ditë, u mblodhën pleqtë e popullit, kreret e prifterinjve dhe skribët dhe e çuan në sinedrin e tyre, duke thënë:

When it was morning the leaders of the people and the religious leaders and the teachers of the Law got together. They took Jesus to the court of the religious leader. They said,

67 “ Në se ti je Krishti, na e thuaj.” Por ai u tha atyre: “Edhe sikur t’jua thoja, nuk do ta besonit.

“Tell us if you are the Christ.” He said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe Me.

68 E dhe sikur t’ju pyesja, ju nuk do të më përgjigjeshit dhe as nuk do të më linit të shkoja.

If I ask you something, you will not tell Me.

69 P or tash e tutje Biri i njeriut do të ulet në të djathtën e fuqisë së Perëndisë.”

From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the All-powerful God.”

70 A tëherë të gjithë thanë: “Je ti, pra, Biri i Perëndisë?.” Dhe ai u tha atyre: “Ju thoni se unë jam.”

They all said, “Then are You the Son of God?” He said, “You say that I am.”

71 A tëherë ata thanë: “Ç’nevojë kemi akome për dëshmi? Ne vetë e dëgjuam nga goja e tij.”

Then they said, “What other word do we need against Him? We have heard Him say this with His own mouth.”
