1 ¶ And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

И апостолите и братята, които бяха в Юдея, чуха, че и езичниците приели Божието слово.

2 W hen Peter was come up to Jerusalem, those that were of the circumcision contended with him,

И когато Петър възлезе в Ерусалим, ония, които бяха от обрязаните, се препираха с него, казвайки:

3 s aying, Why didst thou go in to men uncircumcised and eat with them?

При необрязани човеци си влизал и си ял с тях.

4 B ut Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

А Петър захвана та им изложи наред станалото, като каза:

5 I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a rapture of understanding I saw a vision: A certain vessel descended like a great sheet let down from heaven by the four corners, and it came unto me,

Аз бях на молитва в град Иопия, и в изстъпление видях видение: един съд като голяма плащаница слизаше, спускан чрез четирите ъгъла от небето, и дойде дори до мене.

6 u pon which when I had fastened my eyes, I considered and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth and wild beasts and reptiles and fowls of the air.

В него като се взрях и разсъждавах, видях земните четвероноги, зверове, и гадини, и небесни птици.

7 A nd I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter, slay and eat.

Чух още и глас който ми каза: Стани, Петре, заколи и яж.

8 B ut I said, Not so, Lord, for nothing common or unclean has at any time entered into my mouth.

Но аз рекох, Никак Господи, защото не е влизало в устата ми нищо мръсно или нечисто.

9 B ut the voice answered me again from heaven, What God has cleansed, do not call common.

Обаче, втори глас от небето продума, Което е Бог очистил, ти за мръсно го не считай.

10 A nd this was done three times, and it was all drawn up again into heaven.

Това стана три пъти, след което всичко се дръпна пак на небето.

11 A nd, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.

И, ето, същия час трима човека, изпратени от Кесария до мене, пристигнаха пред къщата, в която бяхме.

12 A nd the Spirit bade me go with them, doubting nothing. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:

И Духът ми каза да отида с тях, и никак да не правя разлика между човеците, а с мене дойдоха и шестимата тия братя, и влязохме в къщата на човека.

13 A nd he showed us how he had seen an angel in his house, who stood and said unto him, Send to Joppa and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter,

И той ни разказа как видял ангела да стои в къщата му и да казва, Прати човеци в Иопия да повикат Симона, чието презиме е Петър;

14 w ho shall tell thee words, by which thou and all thy house shall be saved.

той ще ти каже думи чрез които ще се спасиш и целия ти дом.

15 A nd as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

И когато почнах да говоря, Светият Дух слезе на тях както и на нас изначало.

16 T hen I remembered the word of the Lord, when he said, John indeed baptized in water, but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Тогава си спомних думата на Господа, как каза, Йоан е кръщавал с вода; а вие ще бъдете кръстени със Светия Дух.

17 S o then, if God gave them the same gift as he did unto us, who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I should withstand God?

И тъй, ако Бог даде същия дар и на тях, когато повярваха в Господа Исуса Христа, както и на нас, кой бях аз та да можех да възпрепятствувам на Бога?

18 W hen they heard these things, they were silent and glorified God, saying, Then God has also granted repentance unto life to the Gentiles.

Като чуха това, те престанаха да възражават, и славеха Бога, казвайки: И на езичниците Бог даде покаяние за живот.

19 ¶ Now those who were scattered abroad by the tribulation that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice and Cyprus and Antioch, preaching the word to no one except only unto the Jews.

Между това, разпръснатите от гонението, което стана по убиването на Стефана, пътуваха дори до Финикия, Кипър, и Антиохия, като на никой друг не известяваха словото, освен на юдеите.

20 A nd some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they came into Antioch, spoke unto the Greeks, preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus.

Обаче между тях имаше някои Кипряни и Киринейци, които, като пристигнаха в Антиохия, говореха и на гърците, благовестявайки Господа Исуса.

21 A nd the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned unto the Lord.

Господнята ръка беше с тях; та голямо число човеци повярваха и се обърнаха към Господа.

22 T hen tidings of these things came unto the ears of the congregation which was in Jerusalem, and they sent forth Barnabas that he should go unto Antioch.

И стигна известие за тях в ушите на църквата в Ерусалим; и те изпратиха Варнава в Антиохия;

23 W ho, when he came and had seen the grace of God, was glad and exhorted them all to remain in their purpose of heart in the Lord.

който, като дойде и видя делото на Божията благодат, зарадва се, и увещаваше всички да пребъдват в Господа с непоколебимо сърце.

24 F or he was a good man and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added unto the Lord.

Понеже той беше добър човек пълен със Светия Дух и с вяра; и значително множество се прибави към Господа.

25 T hen Barnabas departed to Tarsus to seek Saul, and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch.

Тогава той отиде в Тарс да търси Савла;

26 A nd it came to pass that for a whole year they gathered themselves together with the congregation and taught many people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

и като го намери, доведе го в Антиохия, та, като се събираха с църквата цяла година, научиха значително множество. И първом в Антиохия учениците се нарекоха Християни.

27 ¶ And in those days prophets came down from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

И през тия дни слязоха пророци от Ерусалим в Антиохия,

28 A nd one of them named Agabus stood up and signified by the Spirit that there should be great famine throughout all the world, which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

един от които, на име Агав, стана и обяви чрез Духа, че щеше да настане голям глад по цялата вселена; какъвто и стана в дните на Клавдия.

29 T hen the disciples, each one according to what he had, determined to send relief unto the brethren who dwelt in Judea,

Затова, учениците наредиха да изпратят всеки според състоянието си, помощ на братята, които живееха в Юдея;

30 w hich they likewise did and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

което и сториха, и я изпратиха до презвитерите чрез ръката на Варнава и Савла.
