1 ¶ Come now, Oh ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

Дойдете сега, вие богатите, плачете и ридайте поради бедствията, които идат върху вас.

2 Y our riches are rotten, and your garments are motheaten.

Богатството ви изгни, и дрехите са изядени от молци

3 Y our gold and silver is corrupted with rust; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you and shall completely eat your flesh, as fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

Златото ви и среброто ви ръждясаха, и ръждата им ще свидетелствува против вас, и ще пояде месата ви като огън. Вие сте събирали съкровища в последните дни.

4 B ehold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped your fields (which you have kept back by fraud) cries out; and the cries of those who have reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of the hosts.

Ето, заплатата за работниците, които са жънали нивите ви, от която ги лишихте, вика; и виковете на жетварите влязоха в ушите на Господа на Силите.

5 Y e have lived in pleasure on the earth and been wanton; ye have refreshed your hearts, as in the day of slaughter of sacrifices.

Вие живяхте на земята разкошно и разпуснато, угоихте сърцата си като в ден на клане.

6 Y e have condemned and murdered the just, and he does not resist you.

Осъдихте, убихте Праведния; и Той не ви се противи.

7 B e patient, therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently until it receives the early and latter rain.

И тъй, братя, останете твърди, до Господното пришествие. Ето земеделецът очаква скъпоценния плод от земята и търпи за него докле получи и ранния и късния дъжд.

8 B e ye also patient and confirm your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draws near.

Останете и вие твърди, и укрепете сърцата си, защото Господното пришествие наближи.

9 C omplain not one against another, brethren, that ye not be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.

Не роптайте един против друг, братя, за да не бъдете осъдени, ето, Съдията стои пред вратите.

10 T ake, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

Братя, вземайте за пример на злострадание и на твърдост пророците, които говореха за Господното име.

11 B ehold, we count blessed those who endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very merciful, and full of compassion.

Ето, ублажаваме ония, които са останали твърди. Чули сте за търпението на Йоана, и видели сте сетнината въздадена нему от Господа, че Господ е много жалостив и милостив.

12 ¶ But above all things, my brethren, do not swear by heaven or by the earth or by any other oath, but let your yes be yes and your no, no; lest ye fall into condemnation.

А преди всичко, братя мои, не се кълнете нито в небето, нито в земята, нито в друга някоя клетва, но нека бъде вашето говорене: Да, да, и: Не, не, за да не паднете под осъждане.

13 I s anyone among you afflicted? let them pray. Is anyone happy? let them sing.

Зле ли страда някой от вас? нека се моли. Весел ли е някой? нека пее хваления.

14 I s any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the congregation; and let them pray for him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

Болен ли е някой от вас? нека повика църковните презвитери, и нека се помолят над него и го помажат с масло в Господното име.

15 a nd the prayer of faith shall cause the one who is sick to be saved, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he shall be forgiven them.

И молитвата, която е с вяра, ще избави страдалеца. Господ ще го привдигне, и, ако е извършил грехове, ще му се простят.

16 C onfess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be whole. The effectual prayer of the righteous is very powerful.

И тъй, изповядайте един на друг греховете си, и молете се един за друг, за да оздравеете. Голяма сила има усърдната молитва на праведния.

17 E lijah was a man subject to passions like unto ours, and he asked in prayer that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.

Илия беше човек със същото естество като нас; и помоли се усърдно да не вали дъжд, и не вали дъжд на земята три години и шест месеца;

18 A nd he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

и пак се помоли и небето даде дъжд, и земята произведе плода си.

19 B rethren, if any of you have erred from the truth, and someone should convert him;

Братя мои, ако някой от вас заблуди от истината, и един го обърне,

20 l et that one know, that whosoever causes the sinner to convert from the error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall cover a multitude of sins.

нека знае, че който е обърнал грешния от заблудения му път ще спаси душа от смърт и ще покрие много грехове.
