1 L et me sing for my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:

Заспіваю ж я вам про Свойого Улюбленого пісню любовну про Його виноградника! На плодючому версі гори виноградника мав був Мій Приятель.

2 a nd he digged it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

І обкопав Він його, й від каміння очистив його, і виноградом добірним його засадив, і башту поставив посеред його, і витесав у ньому чавило, і чекав, що родитиме він виноград, та він уродив дикі ягоди!

3 A nd now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.

Тепер же ти, єрусалимський мешканче та мужу юдейський, розсудіть но між Мною й Моїм виноградником:

4 W hat could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

що ще можна вчинити було для Мого виноградника, але Я не зробив того в ньому? Чому Я чекав, що родитиме він виноград, а він уродив дикі ягоди?

5 A nd now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

А тепер завідомлю Я вас, що зроблю для Свого виноградника: живопліт його викину, і він буде на знищення, горожу його розвалю, і він на потоптання буде,

6 a nd I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor hoed; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

зроблю Я загубу йому, він не буде обтинаний ані підсапуваний, і виросте терня й будяччя на ньому, а хмарам звелю, щоб дощу не давали на нього!

7 F or the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry.

Бо виноградник Господа Саваота то Ізраїлів дім, а муж Юди коханий Його саджанець. Сподівавсь правосуддя, та ось кроволиття, сподівавсь справедливости Він, та ось зойк...

8 W oe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!

Горе тим, що долучують дома до дому, а поле до поля приточують, аж місця бракує для інших, так ніби самі сидите серед краю!

9 I n mine ears saith Jehovah of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.

В мої уші сказав був Господь Саваот: Направду, багато домів попустошені будуть, великі та добрі, і не буде мешканця для них.

10 F or ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield but an ephah.

Бо десять загонів землі виноградника бата одного вродять, а насіння одного хомера породить ефу.

11 W oe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!

Горе тим, що встають рано вранці і женуть за напоєм п'янким, і тривають при нім аж до вечора, щоб вином розпалятись!

12 A nd the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.

І сталася цитра та арфа, бубон та сопілка й вино за їхню гулянку, а на діло Господнє не дивляться, не вбачають Його чину рук.

13 T herefore my people are gone into captivity for lack of knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst.

Тому піде народ Мій на вигнання непередбачено, і вельможі його голодуватимуть, а натовп його висохне з прагнення...

14 T herefore Sheol hath enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth among them, descend into it.

Тому то розширив шеол пожадливість свою і безмірно розкрив свою пащу, і зійде до нього його пишнота, і його натовп, і гуркіт його, й ті, що тішаться в ньому.

15 A nd the mean man is bowed down, and the great man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled:

І людина понижиться, і упокориться муж, а очі високих поникнуть,

16 b ut Jehovah of hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.

а Господь Саваот возвеличиться в суді, і Бог Святий виявить святість Свою в справедливості!

17 T hen shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat.

І пастися будуть овечки, немов би на луці своїй, а зоставлене з ситих чужі поїдять.

18 W oe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and sin as it were with a cart rope;

Горе тим, що вину притягають до себе шнурами марноти, а гріх як мотуззям від воза,

19 t hat say, Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

та кажуть: Хай квапиться Він, хай принаглить Свій чин, щоб ми бачили, а постанова Святого Ізраїлевого хай наблизиться і нехай прийде і пізнаємо ми!

20 W oe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Горе тим, що зло називають добром, а добро злом, що ставлять темноту за світло, а світло за темряву, що ставлять гірке за солодке, а солодке за гірке!

21 W oe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Горе мудрим у власних очах та розумним перед собою самим!

22 W oe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;

Горе тим, що хоробрі винце попивати, і силачі на мішання п'янкого напою,

23 t hat justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

що несправедливого чинять в суді за хабар справедливим, а праведність праведного усувають від нього...

24 T herefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the dry grass sinketh down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Тому, як огненний язик пожирає стерню, а від полум'я никне трава, отак спорохнявіє корінь у них, і рознесеться їхній цвіт, немов курява, бо від себе відкинули Закон Господа Саваота, і знехтували вони слово Святого Ізраїлевого!

25 T herefore is the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them; and the mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Тому запалився гнів Господа на народ Його, і на нього Він витягнув руку Свою, та й уразив його: і захиталися гори, і сталось їхнього трупу, як сміття серед вулиць!... При цьому всьому не відвернувсь Його гнів, і витягнена ще рука Його!

26 A nd he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss for them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly.

І підійме прапора народу здалека, і засвище йому з кінця краю, і прийде він хутко та легко,

27 N one shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:

немає між ними утомленого та такого, який би спіткнувся! Не дримає ніхто і не спить, а пояс із стегон його не здіймається та не зривається шнур при взутті його.

28 w hose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs shall be accounted as flint, and their wheels as a whirlwind:

Його стріли погострені, і всі луки його понатягувані. Копита у коней його немов кремінь вважаються, а колеса його немов вихор.

29 t heir roaring shall be like a lioness, they shall roar like young lions; yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver.

Його рик як левиці, і він заричить, немов ті левчуки, і він загарчить, і здобич ухопить, й її понесе, і ніхто не врятує!

30 A nd they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold, darkness and distress; and the light is darkened in the clouds thereof.

І на нього ревітиме він того дня, як те море реве... І погляне на землю, а там густа темрява, і світло померкло у хмарах її...
