1 L et me sing for my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:

Ahora cantaré por mi amado el cantar de mi amado a su viña. Tenía mi amado una viña en una ladera fértil.

2 a nd he digged it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

La había cercado y despedregado y plantado de vides escogidas; había edificado en medio de ella una torre y había hecho también en ella un lagar; y esperaba que diera uvas buenas, pero dio uvas silvestres.

3 A nd now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.

Ahora, pues, vecinos de Jerusalén y varones de Judá, juzgad entre mí y mi viña.

4 W hat could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

¿Qué más se podía hacer a mi viña, que yo no haya hecho en ella? ¿Cómo, esperando yo que diera uvas buenas, ha dado uvas silvestres?

5 A nd now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

Os mostraré, pues, ahora lo que haré yo a mi viña: Le quitaré su vallado y será consumida; derribaré su cerca y será pisoteada.

6 a nd I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor hoed; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

Haré que quede desierta; no será podada ni cavada, y crecerán el cardo y los espinos; y aun a las nubes mandaré que no derramen lluvia sobre ella.

7 F or the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry.

Ciertamente la viña de Jehová de los ejércitos es la casa de Israel, y los hombres de Judá, planta deliciosa suya. Esperaba juicio, y hubo vileza; justicia, y hubo clamor. Ayes sobre los malvados

8 W oe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!

¡Ay de los que juntan casa a casa y añaden hacienda a hacienda hasta ocuparlo todo! ¿Habitaréis vosotros solos en medio de la tierra?

9 I n mine ears saith Jehovah of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.

De parte de Jehová de los ejércitos ha llegado a mis oídos que las muchas casas han de quedar asoladas, sin morador las grandes y hermosas.

10 F or ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield but an ephah.

Y diez yugadas de viña producirán un bato, y un homer de semilla producirá un efa.

11 W oe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!

¡Ay de los que se levantan de mañana para correr tras el licor, y así siguen hasta la noche, hasta que el vino los enciende!

12 A nd the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.

En sus banquetes hay arpas, vihuelas, tamboriles, flautas y vino, pero no miran la obra de Jehová, ni consideran la obra de sus manos.

13 T herefore my people are gone into captivity for lack of knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst.

Por tanto, mi pueblo es llevado cautivo, porque no tiene conocimiento, sus nobles se mueren de hambre y la multitud está seca de sed.

14 T herefore Sheol hath enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth among them, descend into it.

Por eso ensanchó su interior el seol y sin medida extendió su boca; y allá descenderá la gloria de ellos y su multitud, su fausto y el que en él se regocijaba.

15 A nd the mean man is bowed down, and the great man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled:

El hombre será humillado, el varón será abatido, y humillados serán los ojos de los altivos.

16 b ut Jehovah of hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.

Pero Jehová de los ejércitos será exaltado en juicio; el Dios Santo será santificado con justicia.

17 T hen shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat.

Los corderos serán apacentados según su costumbre, y los extranjeros devorarán los campos desolados de los ricos.

18 W oe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and sin as it were with a cart rope;

¡Ay de los que traen la iniquidad con cuerdas de vanidad y el pecado como con coyundas de carreta!,

19 t hat say, Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

los cuales dicen: «¡Venga ya, apresúrese su obra y veamos! ¡Acérquese y venga el consejo del Santo de Israel, para que lo sepamos!»

20 W oe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

¡Ay de los que a lo malo dicen bueno y a lo bueno malo; que hacen de la luz tinieblas y de las tinieblas luz; que ponen lo amargo por dulce y lo dulce por amargo!

21 W oe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

¡Ay de los que son sabios ante sus propios ojos, de los que son prudentes delante de sí mismos!

22 W oe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;

¡Ay de los que son valientes para beber vino y hombres fuertes para mezclar bebidas;

23 t hat justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

los que por soborno declaran justo al culpable, y al justo le quitan su derecho!

24 T herefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the dry grass sinketh down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Por tanto, como la lengua del fuego consume el rastrojo y la llama devora la paja, así será su raíz como podredumbre y su flor se desvanecerá como polvo, porque desecharon la ley de Jehová de los ejércitos y abominaron la palabra del Santo de Israel.

25 T herefore is the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them; and the mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Por esta causa se encendió el furor de Jehová contra su pueblo, y extendió contra él su mano y lo hirió; y se estremecieron los montes y sus cadáveres fueron arrojados en medio de las calles. Con todo esto no ha cesado su furor, sino que todavía su mano está extendida.

26 A nd he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss for them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly.

Alzará pendón a naciones lejanas y silbará al que está en el extremo de la tierra; y he aquí que vendrá pronto, a toda prisa.

27 N one shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:

No habrá entre ellos nadie cansado, ni quien tropiece; ninguno se dormirá ni dormitará; a ninguno se le desatará el cinturón de su cintura, ni se le romperá la correa de sus sandalias.

28 w hose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs shall be accounted as flint, and their wheels as a whirlwind:

Sus saetas estarán afiladas y todos sus arcos entesados; los cascos de sus caballos serán como de pedernal, y las ruedas de sus carros, como un torbellino.

29 t heir roaring shall be like a lioness, they shall roar like young lions; yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver.

Su rugido será como de león; rugirá a manera de leoncillo, crujirá los dientes y arrebatará la presa; se la llevará con seguridad y nadie se la quitará.

30 A nd they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold, darkness and distress; and the light is darkened in the clouds thereof.

Y bramará sobre él en aquel día como bramido del mar; entonces mirará hacia la tierra, y he aquí tinieblas de tribulación, y en sus cielos se oscurecerá la luz.
