1 T he beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

2 E ven as it is written in Isaiah the prophet, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Who shall prepare thy way.

Como está escrito en el profeta Isaías: «Yo envío mi mensajero delante de tu faz, el cual preparará tu camino delante de ti.

3 T he voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight;

Voz del que clama en el desierto: “Preparad el camino del Señor. ¡Enderezad sus sendas!”»

4 J ohn came, who baptized in the wilderness and preached the baptism of repentance unto remission of sins.

Bautizaba Juan en el desierto y predicaba el bautismo de arrepentimiento para perdón de pecados.

5 A nd there went out unto him all the country of Judaea, and all they of Jerusalem; And they were baptized of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

Acudía a él toda la provincia de Judea y todos los de Jerusalén, y eran bautizados por él en el río Jordán, confesando sus pecados.

6 A nd John was clothed with camel's hair, and had a leathern girdle about his loins, and did eat locusts and wild honey.

Juan estaba vestido de pelo de camello, tenía un cinto de cuero alrededor de su cintura, y comía langostas y miel silvestre.

7 A nd he preached, saying, There cometh after me he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

Y predicaba, diciendo: «Viene tras mí el que es más poderoso que yo, a quien no soy digno de desatar, agachado, la correa de su calzado.

8 I baptized you in water; But he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit.

Yo a la verdad os he bautizado con agua, pero él os bautizará con Espíritu Santo.» El bautismo de Jesús

9 A nd it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in the Jordan.

Aconteció en aquellos días que Jesús vino de Nazaret de Galilea, y fue bautizado por Juan en el Jordán.

10 A nd straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens rent asunder, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon him:

Luego, cuando subía del agua, vio abrirse los cielos y al Espíritu como paloma que descendía sobre él.

11 A nd a voice came out of the heavens, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased.

Y vino una voz de los cielos que decía: «Tú eres mi Hijo amado, en ti tengo complacencia.» Tentación de Jesús

12 A nd straightway the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness.

Luego el Espíritu lo impulsó al desierto.

13 A nd he was in the wilderness forty days tempted of Satan; And he was with the wild beasts; And the angels ministered unto him.

Y estuvo allí en el desierto cuarenta días. Era tentado por Satanás y estaba con las fieras, y los ángeles lo servían. Jesús principia su ministerio

14 N ow after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God,

Después que Juan fue encarcelado, Jesús fue a Galilea predicando el evangelio del reino de Dios.

15 a nd saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe in the gospel.

Decía: «El tiempo se ha cumplido y el reino de Dios se ha acercado. ¡Arrepentíos y creed en el evangelio!» Jesús llama a cuatro pescadores

16 A nd passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea; for they were fishers.

Andando junto al Mar de Galilea, vio a Simón y a su hermano Andrés que echaban la red en el mar, porque eran pescadores.

17 A nd Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

Jesús les dijo: —Venid en pos de mí, y haré que seáis pescadores de hombres.

18 A nd straightway they left the nets, and followed him.

Y dejando al instante sus redes, lo siguieron.

19 A nd going on a little further, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending the nets.

Pasando de allí un poco más adelante, vio a Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, y a su hermano Juan, que estaban en la barca remendando las redes;

20 A nd straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.

y en seguida los llamó. Entonces, dejando a su padre, Zebedeo, en la barca con los jornaleros, lo siguieron. Un hombre que tenía un espíritu impuro

21 A nd they go into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.

Entraron en Capernaúm, y el sábado entró Jesús en la sinagoga y comenzó a enseñar.

22 A nd they were astonished at his teaching: For he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

Y se admiraban de su doctrina, porque les enseñaba como quien tiene autoridad, y no como los escribas.

23 A nd straightway there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

Pero había en la sinagoga de ellos un hombre con espíritu impuro, que gritó:

24 s aying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus thou Nazarene? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

—¡Ah! ¿Qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús nazareno? ¿Has venido a destruirnos? Sé quién eres: el Santo de Dios.

25 A nd Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

Entonces Jesús lo reprendió, diciendo: —¡Cállate y sal de él!

26 A nd the unclean spirit, tearing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.

Y el espíritu impuro, sacudiéndolo con violencia y dando un alarido, salió de él.

27 A nd they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he commandeth even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.

Todos se asombraron, de tal manera que discutían entre sí, diciendo: —¿Qué es esto? ¿Qué nueva doctrina es ésta, que con autoridad manda aun a los espíritus impuros, y lo obedecen?

28 A nd the report of him went out straightway everywhere into all the region of Galilee round about.

Muy pronto se difundió su fama por toda la provincia alrededor de Galilea. Jesús sana a la suegra de Pedro

29 A nd straightway, when they were come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

Al salir de la sinagoga, fueron a casa de Simón y Andrés, con Jacobo y Juan.

30 N ow Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever; and straightway they tell him of her:

La suegra de Simón estaba acostada con fiebre, y en seguida le hablaron de ella.

31 a nd he came and took her by the hand, and raised her up; and the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

Entonces él se acercó, la tomó de la mano y la levantó; e inmediatamente se le pasó la fiebre y los servía. Jesús sana a muchos enfermos

32 A nd at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were sick, and them that were possessed with demons.

Cuando llegó la noche, luego que el sol se puso, le llevaron a todos los enfermos y endemoniados.

33 A nd all the city was gathered together at the door.

Toda la ciudad se agolpó a la puerta.

34 A nd he healed many that were sick with divers diseases, and cast out many demons; and he suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him.

Y sanó a muchos que padecían de diversas enfermedades, y echó fuera muchos demonios; y no dejaba hablar a los demonios, porque lo conocían. Jesús recorre Galilea predicando

35 A nd in the morning, a great while before day, he rose up and went out, and departed into a desert place, and there prayed.

Levantándose muy de mañana, siendo aún muy oscuro, salió y se fue a un lugar desierto, y allí oraba.

36 A nd Simon and they that were with him followed after him;

Lo buscó Simón y los que con él estaban,

37 a nd they found him, and say unto him, All are seeking thee.

y hallándolo, le dijeron: —Todos te buscan.

38 A nd he saith unto them, Let us go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also; for to this end came I forth.

Él les dijo: —Vamos a los lugares vecinos para que predique también allí, porque para esto he venido.

39 A nd he went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.

Y predicaba en las sinagogas de ellos en toda Galilea, y echaba fuera los demonios. Jesús sana a un leproso

40 A nd there cometh to him a leper, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Vino a él un leproso que, de rodillas, le dijo: —Si quieres, puedes limpiarme.

41 A nd being moved with compassion, he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou made clean.

Jesús, teniendo misericordia de él, extendió la mano, lo tocó y le dijo: —Quiero, sé limpio.

42 A nd straightway the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.

Tan pronto terminó de hablar, la lepra desapareció del hombre, y quedó limpio.

43 A nd he strictly charged him, and straightway sent him out,

Entonces lo despidió en seguida, y le ordenó estrictamente:

44 a nd saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

—Mira, no digas a nadie nada, sino ve, muéstrate al sacerdote y ofrece por tu purificación lo que Moisés mandó, para testimonio a ellos.

45 B ut he went out, and began to publish it much, and to spread abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

Pero, al salir, comenzó a publicar y a divulgar mucho el hecho, de manera que ya Jesús no podía entrar abiertamente en la ciudad, sino que se quedaba fuera, en los lugares desiertos; y venían a él de todas partes.
